Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. Top Cap For Globe Wernicke Sectional Stacking Barrister Metal Bookcase
You are buying the top cap ONLY for the sectional bookcase you see in the pictures. I repeat-just the top cap. The base and 4 sections are listed in other sales. The top cap is 2 1/4" tall and 33" wide by 13" deep. It fits over the top of a bookcase that has an indented top of 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. The rest of the description describes the rest of the bookcase which you might need to see if this fits yours.These never had doors and are slightly taller than the ones that you find with doors. Size is just over 33" wide by 13" deep by 17 1/8" tall to the very top. The section that shows when stacked is 16 7/8" tall. The very top of the cabinet is a little smaller so that the base of the next section can lock into it. The smaller section at the very top is 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" ... moredeep. I have 4 of these cabinets that make up the larger stack. You are buying one with the chance to buy additional if you are the first buyer. If you buy more than one you need to buy one-pay for it-then buy the next-pay-and so on. I cannot combine shipping and ebay will combine it by weight and their combined invoice will be wrong. As you see the total structure it stands 80" counting the top cap and bottom base. There is lots of wear and scratching/loss to the paint and they could use cleaned up better.Some have writing and old tape on them. One of the sections has 2 holes drilled in the right side that you can see in a picture. The one picture shows the top inside of the cabinet. The only piece that is signed is the top cap. There is rust on the base but not much rust on anything else. The cabinets weigh 32 lbs each before packing and will incur even more dimensional weight by the shippers due to their size. Rare GLOBE WERNICKE Sectional File Bookcase TOP 17 3/8" X 41 1/2" Barrister
Offered here is a Globe Wernicke Sectional File top. The metal band measures 17 3/8"long. Overall the top measures 18" x 41 1/2" The top has been stained and then refinished with 7 coats of Orange and Blonde shellac, 2 coats applied with brush and 5 additional applied with pad in a french polishing technique. It has some minor flaws but overall is in excellent condition and is ready to use. Please ask any questions before bidding.
