This is an oak Globe Wernicke stacking barrister bookcase with glass. It measures aprox. 32 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" high. It needs to be refinished and maybe a couple of joints re-glued. The piece of 1/4 round trim on the back which holds the glass in place is rough, we provided a close up photo. Otherwise it is in good condition. Handsome 3 section Globe Wernicke barrister stacking bookcase. Everything works. It comes apart in 5 pieces: 3 center section. The top and legs. Easily fits in a small car. Clean, vintage condition and ready for use. The top has a couple of small rings, but nothing outstanding because it was toned down with cleaners and wax. I will add the picture before the auction ends, but it’s really nothing unusual. Measures 34 1/4” wide X 11 3/4” deep X 53” high. The top section will hold books up to 11” high. The remaining lower sections are taller and will accommodate books up to 12 3/4” high. The model number is 811. If you own other sections and wish to add to these they need to be the same number. Antique Globe Wernicke Art Mission Quartersawn Oak Barrister Lawyer Bookcase
The is a misson lawyers bookcase from Globe Wernicke. Label says 898 mission oak finish and each of the 4 sections are labeled. I think the finish is fumed oak and is a lovely mission look. 55 inches tall. 11 inches deep and 34 inches wide. 4 sections with a seperate top and bottom. Bottom has a nice drawer. Original finish. Original antique wavy glass. All doors open nicely and have all inside door mechanisms. All hardware is original except for 2 knobs which were replaced at some poit. They were like that when I bought it. Nice shape, light expected wear. Easy to move. If you are in Queens or Brooklyn or manhattan, I could bring the bookcase to you for $45 cash in my highlander. Here’s a 4 stack Globe Wernicke bookcase in beautifully figured quarter sawn oak. It’s complete with top and base. This unit measures 47 ½” high. 34” wide and 11” deep(The top is 12 1/8” deep) Labels in each section read, top to bottom, 108-299 ½, 110-299, D10 ¼-299, 10 ¼-299. These are from my mother’s estate and are in very good condition– probably close to 100 years old, obviously there may be a very minor scuff or nick– but not many. All have the original wavy glass and brass knobs. Metal sidebands are naturally worn, and have a nice uniform patina. The wood has a wonderful patina also. A good. What I believe is a GLOBE WERNICKE 4 sectional Oak stacking BARRISTER BOOKCASE. In fair CONDITION. I received this note from a viewer: This is an early stack of the Globe Wernicke Company as evidenced by the locking tab on the top.The style of side bands, the early non recessed sides on the top itself. And the closure mechanism. So it IS a GLOBE WERNICKE not a possible one. It is also in the D series line. Most likely a 198 series. I purchased it in 1995 and used it to safely house my rare book collection for almost 20 years. I believe it was refinished before I purchased it. Not the best job done… the refinisher got some glue on the glass of one of the 10” and the 14” unit. I believe it could be razor bladed off. but it never bothered me for what i was using it for. Ideal if you already have one of these bookcase. And want to add ... moremore units. I have seen individual units like these on eBay for $100-150. so, this is a bargin. I am moving and need to find it a good home. But I can always store it until I find the right price. Comes easily apart for a total of 5 pieces. Exterior. 34" wide. 11” deep. 50.75” tall Inside 32” wide. 9.5” depth 2 at 8.25" inside height units with working glass cover. One has glue on glass) 1 at 12" inside height with working glass cover. inexpertly glued corner of glass frame. Has some glue on glass. 1 at 10" inside height unit without a glass cover. Roll Top is in excellent condition. The doors slide nicely. Except the 12" unit sticks a little on the left corner. Would recommend getting this panel repaired. Metal side bands Brass door pulls. I recently bought a number of barristers. This one is absolutely gorgeous. It is not pure quartersawn oak. But shows many quarter sawn pieces. This is a mission styled bookcase which was originally made for the government nearly 75 years ago. It shows some signs of its age. But is still a strong, beautiful, piece of furniture. The base labels are mostly missing. The base is a catalog number 3313-B-10 The finish label that is mostly gone has no usable information. But the coloring matches finish 1938 Special Treasury. The 5 bookcase sections are labelled. There is a finish label that says: FINISH NUMBER 1938 SPECIAL TREASURY There is also a style label that says: CATALOG NUMBER 3313-B. G. I have up for sale a very nice vintage original circa early 1900s Globe-Wernicke Sectional Bookcase. This is an original matching unit- all sections are Globe-Wernicke 298-1/2. The lower section is a number 112 D 12-1/4" The middle a 110 D 10-1/4" and the upper a 108 D 8-1/2" These are all standard sized sections which are most desired as the more narrow sections have far less room. The bookcase stands approx 47" tall. 34" wide, and approx 12-1/2" at the base. It weighs roughly 75 lbs as it sits. It is in very good original condition- some minor age and use wear but overall a nice example. It is not perfect- there are a few areas of minor wear and such. Lovely matching pair of oak step-back lawyers bookcases. Label says Globe wernicke of London. All doors have bands around each section. And all have brass knobs to open. Each section is labeled with the Globe wernicke label of London. Both bookcases have a drawer in the bottom. Top sections are in excellent condition. Both bookcases are 71 inches tall, 34 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches deep at bottom. One section is missing a scissor but still opens. Slight wear to back. The item for sale is a signed very old Globe Wernicke Pattern 809. Section 299, 9 Inch oak barrister bookcase section. This is in very good used condition with no breaks or cracks. There is some normal wear with some minor scratches and a chip in the wood below the door. This is being sold as we found it in an estate clean out. See the pics for details. A set of four antique. Circa 1900, Globe Wernicke quartersawn oak four stake barrister bookcase, with doored bottom section and top cap. The exterior oak boards have a dark brown original finish, the interior stained maple. All four doors have the original glass, and all original brass knobs. All doors have the original working scissors mechanism to open and close easily. The interior paper labels read: D-8-1/2, 798-1/2. Bookcase measures 54" tall by 34" wide by 11" deep. Excellent condition: oak without chips or cracks, all glass panels fine.

Top, bottom, 2) 8 1/2" sections, and(1) 10 1/4" section. Grade 299. D size. Original quartersawn white oak. Original wavy glass. Early label makes this a pre-1922 bookcase. In very nice condition. We date this bookcase to the early 1900’s as the barrister door mechanism is marked 1908(see photo) This bookcase is very similar to Globe-Wernicke style bookcases. But cannot find any label identifying the manufacturer. This bookcase is constructed entirely of smooth. Beautiful oak. It features 3 glass doors on the front of each section; the glass is intact with no cracks or problems to mar their beauty. The glass doors flip up and open/close smoothly. The finish is smooth and is not scratched. In fact. There are no surface blemishes, nicks, or scratches of any sort on the surfaces. The secretary front has incredible quarter-sawn beauty in its sweeping ... morecurve. This bookcase comes apart into 6 components: a decorative top. 3 separate glass bookcase sections, folding secretary section with cubby’s for storage and pedestal bottom, making it easy to move and transport. This listing is for 6 units, there is no top or bottom and there is only 3 glass doors, 3 doors are missing. The units are in good condition, and are structurally sound and stack well.

Oak 4 Stack Barrister Bookcase with Drawer and Leaded Glass by Globe -Wernicke
A beautiful 4 stack quarter sawn oak barrister bookcase by Globe-Wernicke. This bookcase features a top 8.25" tall leaded glass section. Two(2) 12.25" sections and one(1) 10. 25" section. The base has a dovetailed drawer with two brass knobs. Original stickers are on the interior back. Metal strap banded sides completes the look. This is all in original finish with a great patina. Very good condition, with minor wear appropriate to age and use. Overall dimensions are 62" tall by 34" wide by 12" deep at base. There are four units as well as a top and base. The units measure: 2 are 8-1/4 inches tall, one is 10-1/4 inches tall and one is 12-1/4 inches tall. It retains the original company labels, doors move freely, original glass with no chips or cracks, and a beautiful rich patina to the wood. Wonderful addition to anyone's home or office. This bookcase has its original backs. All original glass and the brass tag on the base. Beautiful paneled sides on each stack. The knobs are new. It is in very nice condition! It all locks together with two bolts per stack. The stacks are completely closed at the tops to make each section dust resistant. This bookcase was used in a government office.
