The coloring is more light blue at the top and gradually changes to light yellow at the bottom. I believe the harware to the base and rim is brass. There is expected wear to the metal with a few light dents but nothing distracting. I has been wiped down with soft cloth and water but you may want to do further cleaning and shining. As I look at the brass feet and hardware I think of a Czech/Bohemian art glass common in the late 1800's. However. As I have had it on display, I have had comments that the paintings are similar to Mt Washington. By the way, the enamel paintings are very intact and still with lots of color. Looking closely you will even see some of the fine gold accents ... moreremaining. All the hardware, top& bottom, is secure. No chips, cracks or repairs. There is only very light surface wear in the form of rubs or light brushing marks. I really don't know if some of this just part of the painted design or not. This beautiful Portieux Vallerysthal Mint Green French Opaline Vase measures about 8.75" tall. And is about 4.5" in diameter. The bottom has what appears to be a W mark on it as pictured. It is in very nice vintage condition with only a tiny flea bite to the rim and light enamel wear. Please refer to pictures. The bottom was ground flat probably from the pontil mark and shows light wear. I am offering a Numbered Large Victorian Opaline Bristol Art Glass Vase. The color is Green Jade or Green Jadite. It is shown in Ruth Webb Lee's Victorian Glass Handbook on the plate 235 page. It is from the 1800's. It is hand blown and enameled with a beautiful floral design accented with gold trim. It is also numbered with the number 1. I'm unsure of the maker. It is possibly French. It is also uv reactive ur anium glass. There are 2 flecks on the rim in the gold. I have tried to show them in the pictures. It is 12" x 4 1/4" Vaseline glass is yellow glass that glows green under a black light. Uranium glass is green glass that glows green under a black light. Indiana residents have to pay sales tax. Victorian Blue Opaline Glass Vase Probably Murano
Gorgeous Victorian Blue Opaline Vase. Hand blown and hand painted. Absolutely beautiful enameling. It is difficult to capture the true beauty of the vivid colors used and the clarity and richness of the robin blue glass with the camera. The glass and enameling is absolutely in mint condition for its age. Surprisingly the only wear is to the gold bands around the upper rim and lower part of the vase; neither detract but mentioned for accuracy; otherwise everything is perfect. These vases were individually blown and decorated. So no two can be exactly alike. The vase measures 10" H. Mouth is 4.75" W, 18" Circumference at widest part. See Pictures. Pictures are part of the description. I was told this piece was purchased in Italy years ago. Could be a French piece purchased in Italy.

Here we have a stunning Rose color Opaline Glass vase. This is Opaline glass with the heavy weight and the many tiny production bubbles. The weight is over 7 pounds. It is large grand and elegant being over 18 inches tall. Covered in hand applied gold gilt and porcelain flowers. Please look at picture of bottom and you can tell this is original Opaline glass. It has no chips. Cracks, or hairlines. It does need a good cleaning as I believe it came from a house where there was smoking. Some all over gold wear, but as you can see it is amazing. Vintage Opaline Glass Vase w/ Gilt Metal Mounts Cup Dresser Vanity Milk mouseover to enlarge Description Stands about 3 5/8" tall. 2 1/8" across the top to the outside of the rim PLUS the handle. Mounts appear to be brass or bronze with gold gilt finish. Unmarked. Most likely made in France. It definitely has some age to it. Exact age is unknown, but my best guess would be mid-20th century. I believe its intended use was as a vanity/dresser item or small vase. The handle is simply decorative. You can not put you finger through the opening. You would have to hold it between you fingers. It is white with a very slight bluish tint at some angles. CONDITION: Older item. Has not been cleaned or polished. The top mount can lift off. I found one chip on the interior rim(not visible with the mount in place. The rim of the top mount has ... moreone impressed dent on the outside(see photo) and one area with slight discoloration. A few very tiny irregularities along the outside rim of the glass. One leaf on the base has a bend up tip. Not sure if damage or as made. Some wear to gold gilt finish. I can't find out anything about this lovely vase. It has a rough pontil. Is about 5 1/2" tall, 3 3/4" wide at top. There are lots of little air bubbles and marks and one straw marks I think shown in the fourth picture. I think this is a very old piece of glass. I think it is made of opaline glass is hand painted with a gradient from green to white, ornate with green shamrocks with yellow glazes edges and decorated with green and golden lines hand-painted. In the center is a beautiful figure that seems transfer of cherubs reading on cushions and clouds. The vase has big ruffled at the top with gold edge and has a gilt brass or ormolu stand. On the bottom has a large, rough pontil, indicating that the glass was hand blown and is very antique. It is really a spectacular piece. Unfortunately it is not in excellent condition because it has some chips and a ruffle with cracks(small parts missing) The defects are on the edge with ruffles. Antique ? Early Vintage ? Scalloped Enamel Painted Opaline Glass Vase Signed
No idea when this was made. But I will describe some of the characteristics. There is base wear, I know this is not a guarantee of age, but it does signify, to some degree, the possibility. There are bubbles in the glass. There is also the presence of bubbles which have bursted on the exterior of the glass. I think this is also an indication of age since the bubbles seem to be more accidental, more crude, than say the bubbles found in a Blenko item, or some other Modern piece of glass. The bubbles are small, randomly scattered, and noticeable upon close inspection, resembling bubbles found in older glass. There are also slight circumferential striations along the exterior body of the vase, I assume from the creation process, and another characteristic which I have seen, but not exclusively, in older glass items. There is no pontil, the base ... moreis smooth, but there is an indentation. As you can see from the photos of the base, there is something there which I assume is a signature of some sort. I have no idea if this is a partial or a complete signature. The only damage I can detect is the wear of the gold leaf, the base wear, and some small flea sized chips which I have tried to photograph along the scalloped edge. The scalloped edge also has a roughness to it along the slightly beveled rim. I am going to assume this was from the tool that was used to cut the glass rather from damage since the roughness is even distributed along the rim and more apparent to the touch than to the eye. The enamel paint is in good condition minus a few areas that have worn away or are slightly indented/chipped, but I hope the pictures give you a good idea of its condition. There is also a nice ringing ping to the glass when thumped slightly. I have not attempted to clean this item from the condition in which I found it. It is 7" tall by 2 1/2" wide at the base. Bohemian Opaline Beveled Cut Glass Vase with Faceted Prisms This pedestal cornucopia vase has a flared rim with a cut scalloped edge and has pear shaped prisms hanging. The vase has hand painted gold gilt accents through out the green opaline glass. Nice geometric hand painted design on the ball which is not a complete round ball. It's only a partial shape as pics will show. Base is cut and hollow. Not marked. Believed to be Harrach or other during the Victorian era. GLOWS NEON GREEN UNDER A BLACK LIGHT. Prisms are clear. 8 total and complete. Horn vase is applied on top of a solid glass ball and the hollow pedestal is attached underneath the ball. No damage. The only mark is an enameled 3 on the base. The vase is hand painted in an Etruscan style which was a popular design for both English and Bohemian glass houses during the mid to late 1800's. The vase stands 11 1/4" tall and is in wonderful condition with no chips. Dings or nicks. Three minor pinhead size area of missing enameling. It has parcel gold gilt decoration in a lovely ivy pattern which goes all around the vase. There is wear to the gold gilding as seen in photos. The vase is excellent otherwise. No chips or cracks. The base has a nice polished pontil. This is a very early piece of French opaline glass attributed to Baccarat, but could be St. Louis or Cristalleries de Clichy as well. No signature. Pink Bristol/Opaline Victorian Vase The vase stands approx. 10-3/4 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide at the bottom. The fattest part is slightly wider at 4 inches. A few minor scratches. Indicative of age. NO cracks. Nicks/ Hand painted flowers are white daisy-like with amber centers, and little blue sprigs scattered amidst them. Always carefully packed. Insured with tracking. 1800s Victorian Robins Egg Blue Hand Painted Opaline Glass Blown Vase. This lot features a beautiful Antique 1880's Victorian vase with thick bright enamel floral painting and gilt over an thin clear Robin's Egg Blue color glass. It has a rough bottom pontil. This gorgeous vase has a beautiful thin glass. Which when viewed, you can easily see through it and it has an opalescent hue to it. This lovely piece has no damage. Fading to the gilt on the ruffled rim and on the rings on the neck, otherwise perfect. The last picture was taken from the inside of the vase. This vase measures 9 3/4" tall. Beautiful. Sells as is without reserve.
