You are viewing a PAIR(2) ANTIQUE BLUE GLASS BRISTOL HAND PAINTED VASES with RUFFLED RIMS which are HAND BLOWN and measure 7 1/2" tall. They are in very good vintage condition. NO CRACKS. There is VERY SLIGHT PAINT LOSS ON GOLD TRIM LINES, but the paint on the flowers is excellent. There is a paint streak on the ruffle of one of the vases as seen in the photos but it is not a crack. It is a streak of brown paint either in the blue glass or on top of the blue glass, probably on top. I'd be happy to answer any questions. Please view my other auctions and thanks for looking! The flowers and leaves are enamel hand painted and they have gold gilt lines attaching the flowers. They are tall and measure 11 1/4" tall and the base is 4 1/4" in diameter. These incredible designed pair of vases are made in England.The enamel hand painted floral flowers are rust. Gold, green, gray, white and gold gilt. This lovely pair are handpainted with a dragonfly and fern fronds on each done in black with gold and silver applied gilding. The pattern is opposing or. There is a left and a right facing design. The gilding is dimensional and is slightly raised on each vase. They measure 8" x 3" and show a pontil mark on the bottoms. One has a slight nick on the top rim( see picture 5) other than that, this pair are in really good condition with the gilding intact. These are 2 antique English Bristol glass vases. They have a floral design with a bird on the fronts. Flowers on the backs and a branch design on each side. They measure 10 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches each. There is gold paint around the rims and around the bases. Three Beautiful Bristol Glass Vases 1800's Gorgeous hand painted opaque vase and two companion vases. Largest vase has floral design with butterfly and is white with pink interior. Companion vases with floral design are satin pink with white interior. These Victorian era vases were made in Bristol.England likely in the mid 1800's Rough pontil mark on bottom of larger vase.Pontil mark has been smoothed out somewhat on companion pieces. Gold gilding around base of larger vase is partially missing.Very slight loss of paint in a couple of places. Gorgeous Antique Pair of Bristol Vases! Victorian Bristol Glass was manufactured in the late 19th century. It is known and admired for its hand-painted floral. Bird, and insect motifs. This pair is tan/ecru in color. Known as clam-broth, and has white enamel flowers and leaves hand-painted on the fronts. Each one has a footed base, with a flattened ruffled flared mouth opening. They measure approx. 10 5/8" high, with a base diameter of 3.75" The flattened ruffled top measures 4.5" from edge to opposite edge, with a mouth opening of 2" The girth is approx. 4 1/8" wide. The bottom of each shows the pontil mark where the glass was held during the manufacturing process. Both vases are in exceptional condition for their age. Neither has cracks. This pair of Bristol Glass Vases are particular favorites of mine in all my collection. The floral design has enameling and gold enhancements. The top edge is ruffled and crimped. One vase has yellow flowers and the other white flowers. I have posted pictures of the front. Back, side, top and bottom. There are no chips or cracks in them. They are 10" tall. I have enjoyed them for about 45 years and now it is time for them to be stars in someone else's collection.

This is a very large and dramatic pair of antique bristol glass vases from an estate. These vases are in very good condition. One of them has a few very small chips on the inside of the rim. These chips are pretty small, there are no cracks, and the chips do not show on the outside of the vase. They are large, measuring 12 1/4" tall x 5 1/2" wide and they weigh 1 pound 12 ounces, and two pounds. Note the difference in weight! Great enameling, with a few splashes of pink. Up for auction we have an ANTIQUE MATCHED PAIR OF VICTORIAN ERA BRISTOL GLASS MANTLE VASES- 1850-1899. They measure 11" tall. 3" across base and 4" at widest point. Both are in need of a good cleaning which we will leave up to the new owner. They are hand blown with rough open pontils. They have beautiful enamel hand decorated floral designs in perfect condition. Most of the gold trim is intact[I'd say about 98% there is light wear around one of the ruffled tops] They are scalloped, ruffled tops with pedastal bases. The color looks like it is very slightly blue-tinged almost opaquish/frosted so we really don't know if it is just from use over the years and will come off with a good cleaning. They are both in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs of any kind. Antique Opaline Glass Vases - Possibly Bristol Glass
These gorgeous vintage vases are part of Grandmother's estate. Not sure of exact age. But she was married in 1916 and from all that I have read about and can see on theses pieces, they appear to be the real deal. Bristol opaline glass descriptions mention: rough pontil(check) no seams(check) no machine engraving(check) many have gilding(check) some have hand painted flowers(check) light weight(check) Description also calls them- Victorian Bristol Glass enameled with flowers; Victorian Frosted or Satin Handblown. They are each approximately 5 ounces, 10" tall, 4" at base and fluted mouth with some worn gold trim on opaque vase. Each piece adorned with blue, gold, green, orange and white floral decor on front and simple green frond on back. One vase has a slight muted rust stain inside the base which(I was always told) was caused ... morewhen one of my uncles somehow dropped a nail into the vase and it lodged there for some time before being gently dislodged. A cursory glance would lead one to believe that vases were identical, but a more deliberate look reveals that they are slightly different in shape, height and decoration- all of which lends credence to the belief that they were painstakingly hand blown and hand painted and not mass produced. Each is a lovely complement/compliment to the other. I have read that it is unusual to find a pair because inevitably one or the other was defective in some way(breakage) or the pair was separated for some reason. I do not have the proper display area for them and they definitely deserve to be out and appreciated. Will add additional insurance to assure safe delivery or reimbursement costs.

You are buying a pair of Bristol Glass vases made in England. There is no maker's mark on either piece. The vases are a swirled caramel latte color. It is very evident in one of the photos of the bottom. They feature stylized birds and berries or flowers. Guesses here range from Sparrows to Kookaburra on the birds. Thistles, berry and clover for the mauve colored part of the foliage. The birds are white and brown with some gold highlights, the foliage is all the colors of Autumn- orange, gold, brown, reds and several shades of green. The foot of each is dark brown, that may have traces of gold trim. The tops also have gold trim. I would love any help you can give in describing them better! Fantastic birds hand painted on Bristol glass vases! Each antique vase is 9 and 1/2 inches tall and in very good condition with no cracks. No chips except very tiny edge nicks(two or three) on rims. They are not distracting and merely noted for care in description. They are fabulous antiques. Very clean, very colorful! Some minor areas of paint loss but the birds are intact and vibrant! The vases are considered Bristol type glass. However I believe these to be Austrian in origin. Each vase measures nearly 12 1/2" high, 5 1/2" across the top and 4" in diameter at the base. Both are hand enameled with a bird diving out of a bush toward a fish swimming in a nearby pond. They are opaque white glass with pink ruffled rims and have unfinished pontil marks with residue from the old iron blow pipes.
