I suspect it was my aunt's mother's basket(my grandmother's) So it would date from the 1800's ... moresometime. As my aunt was born well before 1900 and my grandmother would have married a lot earlier than that. Because the shape is just right for holding letters. My mother used it as her unpaid bill holder for years. It has a flower pattern. With flowers etched on the outside, and different types of flowers raised on the inside. Two angels are in the circles on both sides, watering and caring for a garden(one has a watering can, and one is reaching up to a bird nest in a tree) Note that I have added a picture with a paper inside the basket so you can more clearly see the angels cut out. There is no date or maker's mark on it. Twelve years ago. It was loosely appraised at a local sort of"Antiques Roadshow" as being worth about $90. Note that it currently isn't that very well polished and there are still some polish streaks left in the interior of the basket from my hasty polishing. Antique cranberry thorn or rustic vase Victorian Webb Walsh
This unique thorn vase was made in two sections. The bottom is clear and the top is cranberry. The vase is 11 5/8 inches tall and the top is 2 inches in diameter. It has unique arms that stick at the top of the clear portion. Unfortunately one of the arms is broken. The vase is hand blown and is English. It was likely made by Webb. John Walsh or Stourbridge. It dates to the late 19 th century. The vase has several chips to the top. Thorns and feet. The biggest issue is the break to the arm mentioned above. Antique Victorian Bristol Candlestick Vase Handpainted Enameled Fruit TV Webb
This auction is for a beautiful Victorian vase. It is a milk-colored satin glass with a candlestick mouth. Twigs and leaves are handpainted on the body. And four gorgeous, glossy fruit are hand enameled onto the twigs. The following information is handpainted on the base in tiny letters: a model number of 674/8 followed by the initials TV or TW(possibly for TV Limoges or Thomas Webb) and another number that looks like 127. There is gold around the rim and a thin band of gold around the base. There is some paint loss to the gold accents, and a couple scuffs on the body, but this vase is otherwise in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. Measures 7 3/4" tall.
