c. 1880s English Enameled Cameo Prussian Blue Vase Steven Webb Bohemian Signed
c. 1880s Victorian Cameo Prussian Blue Vase English Webb Bohemian Signed Victorian Antique Glass Vase Cameo English Stevens Webb Bohemian Enameled Prussian Blue POSSIBLY MADE BY THOMAS WEBB as it has the Chevron stripping. Fabulous Antique Thomas Webb Cameo Glass Vase Chestnuts
Fabulous Antique Thomas Webb Cameo Glass Vase Chestnuts Gorgeous Cameo Glass Vase. Made and marked by Thomas Webb of England. Note that the signature has mostly worn off, as you can only see the"T& Cameo" To our knowledge Thomas Webb& Sons was the only or at least one of only a couple of companies that wrote"Cameo" on their glass. This fact with the"T" still being there makes us confident that this piece was made by Thomas Webb. If you have another explanation we would welcome your input. A kind eBayer has suggested that the mark seems to be partially worn enamel Florentine Art Cameo used on Cameo like enameled glass produced in late 19th c Bohemia Beautiful Horse Chestnut Design. Florentine Cameo Webb Stevens & Williams Era Aesthetic Enamel Art Glass Vase
I just purchased this antique“Florentine Cameo” art glass vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The vase is characteristic of the enamel decorated"faux-cameo" pseudo-cameo" wares produced by a number of Bohemian glass factories in the 1880's- 1890's. The hand painted enamel created a raised design with subtle depth intended to mimic the cut cased cameo produced by English companies(Thomas Webb/ Stevens& Williams) The vase has a lovely Aesthetic inspired design with a songbird perched on foliage and a second hovering above. On one face. The reverse shows a blossoming shrub surrounded by foliage. The vase is done in a lovely shade of sapphire blue with satin finish, the color and shape again mimicking Webb) The piece measures 6” high, 4” wide and 2 ¼” O.D. across the top rim. The vase is excellent ... morecondition with no damage. This elegant Aesthetic vase would make a fine addition to any collection of Florentine Cameo art glass or Victorian inspired décor.
