It has a rounded shape which has been decorated with a pedestal base and an engraved floral pattern which is the same on both sides. The detailing is really good and has certainly added a stylish decorative finish to the teapot. The hinged lid works fine still and retains the original ball finial. The underside is simply marked"Patent Handle" and would date to circa 1900's. It measures 23cm(9 inches) in length from handle to spout and 18cm(7 inches) in height to the top of the finial. Antique English Victorian Pink Cased Glass Bristol Enamel Daffodil Vase - No.'d
If I called this lovely color deep burmese pink it would be more accurate. But I'd open myself up for a lot of trouble! Rather, it is a beautiful mauve which cases hand blown milk glass. The ornate enamel painting depicts daffodils* a favorite subject of the Victorians. The condition is just terrific! Free from all blemishes great and small. There is excrutiatingly minor paint loss- a tad of gilding on the foot ring(see photo#11) and a bit of accent gilding. The rest of the enamel is very very strong and free from chips. The number"13" is hand painted on the underside of the foot. But I've yet to see any of it's relatives 1 thru 12. I've seen similar vases, but the neck opening is peculiarly small- making this vase unusual. It's tall enough to hold one long stem, perhaps a daffodil or iris from your garden? It is a wonderful antique Bristol vase. Hand blown with open pontil on the bottom. This one is white with an amazing satin finish. It is hand decorated with leaf scroll ribbon flower flourish that is typical of the victorian era. The colors are gold blue and pink with black trim. It measures about 11” tall x 4” at the widest area. It is in very good condition. There is a couple areas in the trim where the gold as either skipped or worn. Very slight. And the only“issue” I see is that there is a stain on the inside at the base. I think some plant matter got in there decades ago and is encrusted and nearly impossible to reach. We couldn’t get it out because the pedestal base is so narrow. The piece has many small bubbles and seeds inside the glass that was part of the making of this vase. At one time this piece was decorated with gold trim but unfotunately almost all of the gold has faded. The piece is clean with only the very bottom inside needing a little cleaning. They are a soft green with hand painted aesthetic movement design with a hummingbird and flowers. They are 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide. They are in very good antique condition. One does have a very tiny rim chip on the backside(see second to last pic) The other has a very, very faint hairline on the bottom from a tiny fleabite. This is a Spectacular Display Piece with Ground Pontil Mark and is lovely hand painted floral design on a white background and a wonderful satin feel to the glass. If you hold the vase up to light you can see through it. There are lots of tiny bubbles in the vase which gives it character and pontil mark on bottom which is original to the vase and caused during the cooling down process. It does look like there may have been a repair to the vase at top within the ruffles. It is hard to see as someone must have tried to cover it up so you have to look very closely. Each measures 9” tall and 3-1/4” in diameter at the base. They are hand blown with pontil scars on the bottom of each. They have flower and leaf decorations in colors of green. Red, cobalt blue, blue and white with gilt enameling. The rims, edges of pedestal and foot have a gilt highlight. When held to the light the glass shows a lot of fire. They are unmarked. One of the vases has an age split on one side near the bottom as you can see in the picture below and it appears to have been there a while. The vase won’t hold water. Antique, Victorian Enamel 12" Urn Vase Set, Bristol Glass, Aesthetic Movement
This listing is for two(2) Matching Antique. Victorian Enameled Urn Vases, commonly referred to as a Bristol Vases, in White. The vases are hand-painted with a gorgeous, large violet and white poppy in bloom with green leaves on a light greenish blue background. The poppies are trimmed in gold moriage. The top and base of the vases are painted rust orange trimmed with gold bands. The designs are excellent examples of the Far East influence on Victorian Era artists during the Aesthetic Movement. The vases are hand-blown. The pontil mark is polished and the base is ground flat. The glass is semi-opaque with a highly polished milk white interior. There are no maker or decorator marks. The piece likely dates to the mid-late 1800's. They measure 11 3/4" high. 5" in diameter at the mouth, 4" in diameter at the base and weigh ... more3 lbs 2.8 oz as set Both vases are chip and crack free. One of them has a small fleabite(pencil tip size) which is painted and likely occurred when the rim was ground down after blowing the vase. The artwork is in amazing condition with no notable marks or scratches. Though there are flaws in the painting as with most hand-painted items. The gold trim and moriage is in excellent condition with no marks or fading. The feet have light wear from over a century of display, most notable where the base was ground. There are no signs of use on the interior or heavy mineral deposits. The vases are in fantastic condition and will make wonderful addition to a Victorian Vase collection and beautiful Victorian display pieces. Shipping. Antique, Victorian Enamel 11" Urn Vase, Tiger Lily Floral, White Bristol Glass
This listing is for an Antique. Victorian Enameled Urn Vase, commonly referred to as a Bristol Vase, in Frosted White. The vase is hand-painted with a yellow and red Tiger Lily floral and leaves design with beautiful blue trumpet flowers. The bright green, well shaded leaves are wonderfully done. The flowers all shaded with gray with gold trimmed stems, giving the tiger lily a flaming appearance. The central floral art is stunning and a great example of Victorian art. The top is decorated with a thin scroll and beads design. The back of the vase has two green marks, one of which has white over it. The urn shaped vase hand-blown with a broad. Slightly flared mouth. The vase is acid etched from on the outside and smooth white on the base, inside and on the top 1/4" The glass is semi opaque. The pontil mark and base are highly polished ... moreis an opaque green-blue. There is a"6" painted on the base, which is likely the decorator's mark. The vase likely dates to the 1800's. The piece measures just over 10 1/2" high. 4 5/8" in diameter at the mouth, 6 1/4" in diameter at the widest and weighs 1 lb 13.8 oz. The vase is chip. Crack and fleabite free. There is some light roughness on the rim, but no visible marks, which likely occurred when the rim was ground down. The artwork is in fantastic condition with no notable marks or fading. The frosted glass has some marks from storage which could be cleaned or polished off should one desire. The foot light wear from over a century of display. There are no signs of use on the interior or heavy mineral deposits.
