These Art Glass vases are incredible. The inside layer is white glass. The next layer is a red and white spatter glass and the outside layer is clear glass. There are controlled bubbles between the first and third layers which are a really interesting affect. And then, the vase is machine threaded on the main body of the vase. Spectacular. I believe these vases are British glass by either Stevens& Williams who did a machine threaded Jewel pattern or by Richardson glass. Beautiful Vintage(possibly antique) Hand Blown Amethyst/Purple colored Hyacinth Bulb Forcing Vase. It measures approximately 8" high. 2 7/8"wide at the top and 3 1/2" wide at the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, there is some slight wear on the underside bottom. There is a broken off pontil mark on the bottom and the glass itself has imperfections; small bubbles, waviness and there are 2 small round imperfections(at first I thought they were water droplets from washing the vase, but it turns out they are little nibs of glass, you can't feel them from the outside, they are more toward the inside.see photo) None of the imperfections are inconsistent with hand blown glass of this age. Beautiful Vintage Emerald Green colored Hyacinth Bulb Forcing Vase. It measures approximately 7 1/8" high. 3 1/8"wide at the top and 3 1/8" wide at the bottom. This was blown into a mold and has seam lines on each side. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some slight wear on the underside bottom and a few minor scuffs/scratches. There is a slight ring of discoloration(looks brownish) on the inside about 1 3/4" up from the bottom from use(this may come out with a good soaking? There is a small white pinhead sized inclusion on the side about 1/3 way down, a few bubbles and two extra nibs of glass at the upper rim. Very nice blown cobalt glass hyacinth forcing vase. Probably made at the Sandwich Glass Works circa 1870, or possibly at another of the American 19th Century glass houses. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The lip was made out of level. There is one little blob of glass on the rim, plus several lines of thicker glass in the top part.all signs of hand made glass.
