Condition: Nice vintage condition as pictured. There is some residue along the top of both pieces. These probably had a metal gilded flourish on the top which was quite common on this type of vase. This pair of vases could also be used as candle sticks. They have nice pontils on the bottoms. And are decorated with handpainted beads and slashes in pink and lavender. Each one stands 6 3/4" tall. With a top diameter of 2 1/8" Though they are painted with the same design, only one of them is trimmed at the top lip with a thin lavendar band. This band is repeated, again, only on the one piece. Most of it has worn off although one vase has the gold line at the base. The glass on one is a little thicker than the other but they are both a milky opalescent with blue tints. The picture of the pontil scars makes the rim look really turquoise colored but the vases aren't that dark. The other pictures show the true coloring much better. Pair Bristol Glass Portrait Vases Victorian Girls England White/Multi Age 1800
Offering 2 Portrait Vases by Bristol Glass. Depicted on each vase is a transfer print of a pretty girl from the Victorian era. Both of these young ladies are surrounded by hand painted pink water lilies trimmed in gold and two colors of green lily pads. Each vase is 11 1/4" tall with a 4 1/4" diameter base and a 3 3/4" opening. The blue on the top& bottom of each vase is more of a turquoise color than is shown in the pictures. Both pieces are absolutely stunning and in very good antique condition. There is a small flaw on one vase as I have indicated in the condition description above.
