Victorian Cased blown 9 1/2" Bristol Art Glass Green Vase hand painted Gold
Here is a green glass vase with hand painted floral(iris) decoration in gold. I believe it is a Bristol vase from Victorian England and it was hand crafted by being blown from the top. It is cased glass with a layer of white on the inside. And a ground and polished flat surface at the upper lip. It stands about 9 1/2" high and is in excellent condition. I have several other pieces of nice Victorian art glass that I just picked up from the home of a former dealer. check them out!

It is from the 1800's. It is hand blown and enameled with a beautiful floral design accented with gold trim. It is also numbered with the number 1. I'm unsure of the maker. It is possibly French. It is also uv reactive ur anium glass. There are 2 flecks on the rim in the gold. I have tried to show them in the pictures. The piece has many small bubbles and seeds inside the glass that was part of the making of this vase. At one time this piece was decorated with gold trim but unfotunately almost all of the gold has faded. The piece is clean with only the very bottom inside needing a little cleaning. Each measures 9” tall and 3-1/4” in diameter at the base. They are hand blown with pontil scars on the bottom of each. They have flower and leaf decorations in colors of green. Red, cobalt blue, blue and white with gilt enameling. The rims, edges of pedestal and foot have a gilt highlight. When held to the light the glass shows a lot of fire. They are unmarked. One of the vases has an age split on one side near the bottom as you can see in the picture below and it appears to have been there a while. The vase won’t hold water.
