There are enameled dots around the bottom of the jar as well. The latch secures tightly and the hinge is in good condition. The brass rims on top and bottom show their age. Beautiful Victorian Vase/Epergne with an ormolu style base. Vase is cemented into base. Uniquely shaped vase has white enamel floral pattern painted all around. I call this shape an envelope style! Vase is an amber color and is certainly original. Possibly Moser Glass! No chips or dents. But some discoloration to a few of the leaves of the base. Oak tree style leaves wrap around the base. Very Fine 19th Century Victorian Moser Glass Hand Painted Portrait Vase. The Vase is one of the Finest and Most Beautiful examples I have personally seen in a very long time. The Vase is Finely Hand Painted with Leonardo da Vinci. And is also Richly Gold Gilded throughout. The Vase has a nice Footed Victorian Form, and a Finely Hand Cut Top Rim. The Vase shows some light wear throughout but overall for its age is in very fine untouched original condition with no chips, cracks, but for a repair to the base where you can see the gold band.it looks to be a very old repair as you can see the bottom base has some glue or some type of maybe porcelain.and then it looks like a recent paint repair that is also on the base near the gold band, hopefully you can see it in pic.but Galileo and all other things on our vase is stunning. Up for your kind consideration is this wonderful piece of vintage glass. I know of no completely objective way to describe the condition of vintage glass. The phrase"mint" is often the word used by sellers and there are rarely any examples of glass that fall into this category. To avoid any form of disappointment. I offer a liberal returns policy. Examination is the only method of meeting your personal expectations and in that light, it reduces the need to pull out a microscope, which I cannot do. Glass collectors have individual opinions and criterion for acquiring glass for an individual collection. Almost all old glass shows signs of usage. Newman's book. An Illustrated Dictionary of Glass, does not include the word"mint" and neither can"mint" be found in any of the books in my reference library. In my ... moreopinion, the word"mint" should be a term that is never used by glass collectors. Expecting a mint piece in glassware that is true vintage isn't realistic. Therefore. This Victorian era Moser vase features an art nouveau style with applied enamel crane, lotus blossom fronds and irregular jagged rim. Excellent condition, showing no cracks or chips.
