The vases stand quite tall at 13" and are in excellent condition. The glass is glossy opaline on the inside with a satin finish on the outside. It is decorated with a very unique cream enamel fern& leaf design pattern with gold gilt accent beading and jewels. There is one jewel missing on one vase. First of all. I must say that I've ended my listing early cause the t here were some errors in the listing. Up for bid a pair of very beautiful antique vases typical to the victorian era more than one hundred years ago. These vases. That measures 12" tall, are pro bably French. I found them in the house of a 95 years old woma n who was an antiquarian in the 1950's in Quebec city. There were a lot of treasures for sale in her house when she moved. Among them. These 2 vases. They are in very great condition for their age with no major flaws. I would say that they have a few tiny marks and some gold paint loss but the overall condition is still excellent. I've remarked that on the underneath. Pair Antique Blue Opaline Glass Vases 4" Tall Hand Painted Enamel Flowers
This auction is for a gorgeous pair of blue opaline glass vases with hand painted enamel flowers and gilding. They measure 4" tall and 2 1/2" across the tops. There is quite a bit of loss to the gilding overall. Especially on the feet and around the rims of the vases. There are two very tiny chips on the underside of the rim of one vase, one the size of a pin head and the other the size of a pinprick, as shown in the photos. There is no damage to the painted flowers. To my eye, the damage does not at all detract from the beauty of these pieces and I have to really look hard to see it! Antique Opaline Glass Vases - Possibly Bristol Glass
These gorgeous vintage vases are part of Grandmother's estate. Not sure of exact age. But she was married in 1916 and from all that I have read about and can see on theses pieces, they appear to be the real deal. Bristol opaline glass descriptions mention: rough pontil(check) no seams(check) no machine engraving(check) many have gilding(check) some have hand painted flowers(check) light weight(check) Description also calls them- Victorian Bristol Glass enameled with flowers; Victorian Frosted or Satin Handblown. They are each approximately 5 ounces, 10" tall, 4" at base and fluted mouth with some worn gold trim on opaque vase. Each piece adorned with blue, gold, green, orange and white floral decor on front and simple green frond on back. One vase has a slight muted rust stain inside the base which(I was always told) was caused ... morewhen one of my uncles somehow dropped a nail into the vase and it lodged there for some time before being gently dislodged. A cursory glance would lead one to believe that vases were identical, but a more deliberate look reveals that they are slightly different in shape, height and decoration- all of which lends credence to the belief that they were painstakingly hand blown and hand painted and not mass produced. Each is a lovely complement/compliment to the other. I have read that it is unusual to find a pair because inevitably one or the other was defective in some way(breakage) or the pair was separated for some reason. I do not have the proper display area for them and they definitely deserve to be out and appreciated. Will add additional insurance to assure safe delivery or reimbursement costs.

Here we have a pair of stunning 19th century French Opaline glass or Bristol vases. They are covered in hand painted gilt detailing. They are grand& elegant with a weight of aprox 1 1/2 pounds each. Two antique French opaline vases - ca 1850 - hand blown - hand painted
This was another tough one to research. Two beautiful. Hand-blown, 5" tall French Opaline vases. They are a beautiful milky-white with the inside top flowing out a lovely pink. Hand made around 1850, this particular style of French glass was very popular. I could not narrow down the maker, but I found a few very similar in color and design. I do know they are not Fenton, Vallerysthal or Baccarat. But there are so many others that the process of elimination would have been a little labor intensive. Being essentially lazy, I will ask that if anyone out there knows who the maker is, I would love to hear from them. The vases are in excellent condition. No scratches. Cracks or chips. Because of their age, the gold applique is worn in spots, but the painting is still perfect. I spotted a couple of"bubbles" in the glass, but that ... moreis common. Rare Pair Green Opaline Cut Triangular Vases White Enameled Aesthetic Movement
I am selling a 40 year collection of antiques. All items are guaranteed antique and as described. Check my other auctions for more fine antiques. This is a rare pair of aesthetic decorated French Green Opaline are fully cut in a triangular shape with Mary Gregory type Painting in heavy white enamel. They measure 7.5" tall and are 3.25" each side at base and 2" at the top. The corners are cut flat and the front edge is decorated with water lilly leaves. Two sides have a heron with cat tails and the third has a small group of leaves. The heron scenes are painted in mirror image and the vases have always been a pair. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks. The only defect is wear to the gold around the top and on the edge of the opening of each vase. No chips cracks or repairs.
