Between the wings there is an angled opening for a trumpet shaped or curved glass vase or other ornament. The silver plate piece measures 6 1/2" long X 3 1/4" wide X 7" tall. The cylindrical opening is 3/4" in diameter and approximately 3" long. The opening is tapered. As you can see from my pictures. The plating is completely worn off. It is a uniform grey color all over. The detail on this figural piece is beautiful. It is marked on the bottom. In the center, with the WILCOX SILVER PLATE trademark. The condition is good. Antique Victorian Cranberry & Vaseline Glass Epergne Vase 1890
Beautiful antique epergne dating to the 1890's. Gorgeous combination of cranberry and vaseline glass. The flutes have a stem design with extended pointed detailing and opalescent rims. The base has a fluted opalescent rim. The cranberry baskets have an intricate ribbing design and can swivel in their base. All hand blown glass. The epergne measures 14" high and 9" in diameter across the base. Selling in"as is" condition. The epergne includes three flutes. Two baskets and centrepiece all in very good condition. As is" The centre flute is missing and the third cranberry basket has its stem broken off. I will include it in case it can be repaired, otherwise the brass hardware can be removed and used to replace the basket. There are a couple of tiny imperfections in the tiny ribbing section on one basket which would ... morehave occured at manufacture not noticeable, see close up photo. The center flute section has its screw on hardware intact so it is possible to replace the flute. They are simply set in plaster of paris.

Applied ribbon of crystal rigaree is around the neck of the vase. There are green applied pressed leaves to serve as the base. Mirror p lateau has a beveled edge and a unique squared shape. Glass has no chips. Hairline breaks, repairs, or mineral deposit. The plateau does show signs of age from normal use. No dents and all original hardware is complete. No chips. Or hairline breaks on the mirror. Glass vase is from British maker Webb during the late Victorian period. Measurements: 5" tall. Mirror base is 4-1/2"diameter. The rim on the vase is 2-3/4" diameter. On auction is a 2 piece glass epergne. I purchased this for myself many years ago as a Victorian epergne. Please see pics as I am not a glass expert! I bought this because I liked it. The pattern is wavy and there are no seams. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. Total height with trumpet inserted is about 11" tall. The bowl part is about 5 1/2" tall. RARE ~ Victorian Cranberry Opalescent 5 pc Epergne - ALL Original! Beautiful!!!
This is a very gorgeous Large 5 Piece Epergne from the Victorian Era. It is made in a beautiful Cranberry Opalescent Color that measures 21.5" Tall when completely assembled. The Center Horn measures 4.5" wide x 15.5" tall. Each side horn measures in at 5" wide x 5" tall, and the bowl measures 11" wide x 6" tall(in center) Talk about an elegant center piece this was in that time! This piece is of an era when the glass work was created by hand so there are some air bubble as it was created. Sadly one of the horns does have a spider fracture in the cup but is still fully functionable, as shown in the photos. This is an estate piece and has been around for a very long time.and is a RARE design!

The piece stands 7 1/4" high or 18.4 cm high and measure 3 1/8" or 8.1 cm in diameter across the flute top. The glass flute is acid etched with ribbons and intertwining bouquets of flowers. The bronze still has luster and the original decorative chains are there. This mini epergne would have been used in the ladies boudoir. This auction is for a beautiful vintage pink opalescent epergne! It is gorgeous and has great opalescence. It is well made and appears in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. I would guess this is from the early 1900's. But could possibly be older. It is a pale pink and in certain light appears a peachy-pink. photos were taken with and without flash) The bowl is oblong and has the great flaring points of opalescence! The vase fits into the base, but seems a bit loose- you could pad with stick-um or similar. The bowl is 15 inches across, 9 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches tall. I was recently given a large collection of over 50 very high quality RARE& Antique collectibles. I will be listing them over the next two weeks. So keep checking back for more items listed. This auction is for a set of three antique late 19th Century early 20th Century ones. Victorian period blown glass flutes. In a clear glass with bright yellow and opalescent folded rims. They all come with the original metal collars for mounting and the original metal mount which attached to the base for holding the flutes. It also comes with the centerpiece screw in mount collar for the tall straight centerpiece flute. Though I do not have the center flute. They are all free ... moreform blown glass. With applied scallops down the sides. They measure approx. 9-1/4" tall when sitting flat the way they would be in the base by approx. 4-1/4" at there widest. See condition below. This gorgeous Epergne was found in the attic of grandma's house. The color of the trumpet's is very rich and vibrant. This would make a terrific holiday centerpiece/ display, year around for that matter. This Epergne has a center Trumpet, 3 side trumpets, 2 glass candy cane shaped stems, and the mirrored base. This glass is hand blown. The detail and craftsmanship is terrific! ... morePlease view the pictures to see for yourself! There are some issues with this aged piece. First, there are supposed to be 3 candy cane shaped glass stems. There are only 2. I am assuming that over the years, the 3rd one met its demise. There is one of the glass stems that is adhered or stuck to the glass frog type base. I am not an antique glass or even a glass repair person and did not attempt to remove it, in fear of breaking it. The glass frog does have some chips to the base, but is still very much in working order. The trumpets are in excellent, pre-owned, condition. Over-all, considering its age, this Epergne is in terrific condition. The way this Epergne is designed you can position the missing stem at the rear, as in the pictures and most will not even notice that it is missing. The beauty of this piece draws the attention away form its issue. It is in the cranberry glass with crystal applied ... morerigaree. The Epergne is in good condition, it has been well cared for and protected for 100+ years. I have inspected all the glass pieces and I find no chips, cracks or repairs. The piece includes the base bowl, center horn, four canes and 4 hanging baskets. It has brass fittings where each piece attaches to the center. The base bowl has a brass flower form holder which has 6 openings, I assume two pieces are missing, see photos. The brass fitter that is attached to the bowl has some old epoxy where the brass piece was applied to the bowl, I assume it was loose and someone put it on to hold it in place. I have looked at other similar epergnes and I am guessing it originally would have had either two vase horns or two canes in those openings. The 4 Canes are twisted crystal glass measuring 12" long each. The 4 hanging baskets measure 6 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide each. The center horn vase measures 16" tall and 5 1/2" wide. The base bowl measures 9 1/2" wide, 2" deep and 4 1/2" tall in center. This is a stunning and elegant old piece to add to a collection. GORGEOUS ANTIQUE CRANBERRY OPALESCENT& VASELINE GLASS EPERGNE Beautiful antique cranberry opalescent& vaseline glass epergne with three horns and two canes with hanging baskets. The glass epergne is made with uranium glass which glows under UV black light. Maker: Unknown maker Age: Victorian late 1800's Condition: With the exception of the bowl(base) All pieces of the epergne are in excellent condition no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is the usual bubbles, glass residue, etc. typical of older hand blown glass. The epergne bowl base has a approx 6.5" crack along the inside bottom running from 12:00 to 2:00 o'clock(see 10th photo) This old crack does not extend to the edges(11th and 12th photos) and the base remains sturdy, displays nicely. Up for your consideration is this single horn for a old epergne. It is around 9" long and 3" at the flower. The glass is in good shape. I see no chips or cracks. The flower has a tint imperfection, looks like a something got in the mold and left a tiny pin hole in the surface of the mouth of the flower. It looks just fine and would probably vanish if i cleaned the dust off of it. I found this at a thrift store in south Florida. There are European possibilities as well. The base has a ruffled or scalloped edge. It measures 2 1/2" high and 10 1/4" across. The brass fittings are for a center vase and two side horns. This piece is in very good estate condition with no damage or repairs found. Might be just what you've been looking for! An epergne(pronounced ep-pern) is an ornately constructed and detailed. Highly functional centerpiece. From a historical perspective. Epergnes debuted in the late 1600's as a functional item designed to act as a caddy for spices and condiments served at an important meal. In the mid 18th century, their role had shifted to that of the space-saving keeper of the dessert course. And by the late 18th century, they started appearing with candle holders, lamps, and vases; from the 19th century onward their primary purpose became floral-centric and decorative. These glass structures with their tiers of holders allowed both the designer(who provided a well-balanced framework to support the tiers) And the glassblower to work together to create impressive works of art. The third set of hands in the process of creating an epergne was the craftsman ... morewho fitted the various glass parts together with brass mounts set in plaster. Traditional epergnes have a large central"bowl" or basket; the epergne's smaller functional elements are supported by decorative branches which are spaced symmetrically around the piece. American blown glass epergne from the 19th century. This Victorian piece was made between the 1860s and 80s. This gorgeous, trumpet style centerpiece is in two separate pieces. The rims of both pieces are in a lovely, ruffled design. This fine quality piece is in excellent condition. This epergne was originally made in three sections. But the two lower sections have been glued together where they would naturally join. This is not a break or a repair. I believe the sections could probably be separated, if so desired, by applying a small amount of heat to melt or loosen the glue. There is no real need to do this, and the piece sort of functions better having the bottom two pieces ... moreattached the way they are. Beautiful Victorian Vase/Epergne with an ormolu style base. Vase is cemented into base. Uniquely shaped vase has white enamel floral pattern painted all around. I call this shape an envelope style! Vase is an amber color and is certainly original. Possibly Moser Glass! No chips or dents. But some discoloration to a few of the leaves of the base. Oak tree style leaves wrap around the base. Fantastic Victorian Art Glass - Cased Glass Epergne - Centerpiece - Ruffled Edge
This is an opportunity to acquire a wonderful ruffled edge Victorian art glass/ 2 piece epergne/ centerpiece. I do not know the maker- but each piece is marked on the bottom with a gold mark- that to me sort of looks like an open-ended figure 8. This is cased glass- white with a pink interior. The floral design is lovely and delicate- and also features metallic gold floral sprays(these did not photograph very well but if you zoom in you may be able to see it) I do want to point out what I believe to be a flaw in the manufacturing process rather than damage. There is a very small space where it looks like the pink glass did not cover the white glass. This does not in any way detract from the beauty of the piece and I had trouble finding it again for the photo. My mother used to refer to similar pieces as"Bristol glass" But I can't ... moreconfirm that. It's a beautiful thing- no matter who made it. This piece is quite large- approximate measurements are 18" 19" high and just over 10" in diameter for the bottom pedestal bowl. This would make a fantastic wedding centerpiece. I inherited this gorgeous piece from my uncle- it is fantastic and I would love to keep it- but I am downsizing and I just can't keep everything. A beautiful large glass epergne trumpet center vase. Note the cranberry red interior. White exterior, double crimped and ruffled edge and the colorful hand painted enameled flower decorations. The flower decorations can be felt in relief. Dates to the late 1800’s– early 19800’s. Measures a full 11 inches long and 4 3/4 inch across the top. The mounting stem measures 1 3/16 inch long. 3/4 inch in diameter at the button and tapers to 9/16 inch at the bottom. Condition is great as there are NO chips. Antique Cranberry Glass Victorian Epergne Replacement Parts Stourbridge?
Welcome Friends! Check out what we have for you Antique Cranberry Glass Victorian Epergne replacement parts 3 pieces: The long piece is 16 x 5 1/2" The short pieces are 10" x 3 1/4" Condition is very good with some minor condition. On one of the"short" piece. Some down towards the brass tips there is some rubbing/ in the glass. Probably from move the piece in and out of the Epergne. On the underside towards the top. There is a small bit of very tiny fleabites. Almost looks like manufacturing. But thought I should mention it. All else in good condition. On the second short piece. It is missing the very first, towards the bottom raised clear glass piece. It is on the underside of the piece. And is not really noticeable. Again the piece has tiny flea bits toward the bottom from moving in and out of the epergne. All else ... morein good condition. In the tall piece. There are two white flecks in the glass towards the bottom, which appear to be part of the manufacturing. Same rubbing at the bottom. Condition sounds worse than it is. I try to point out what I see. The body of the trumpet is festooned with a clear glass ruffle. The erect center vase is surrounded by three smaller, similarly decorated trumpets. All four vases are fitted into a flat. Central brass holder in the shape of a flower. The smaller trumpets slope away from the middle reinforcing the flower motif of the design. The vases and holder stand in the middle of a round. RARE! Exquisite antique Victorian-style blown-glass 2-piece EPERGNE. This is a lovely clambroth. Opaline color with ruffled edges on the single horn and base. It measures 9" tall and is 6" across at widest point on base. It looks like it used to have a silver accent detail. There are no chips on this RARE piece! The base is hollow. There is some debris of some sort down inside. I will let the new owner figure out how to clean it! There is some roughness around the bottom of the horn that looks like it was cut into the glass so it would fit the base. Large Antique Cranberry Glass Victorian Epergne Centerpiece, Applied Glass
This lovely epergne is in wonderful condition. The glass is clean. Vibrant and beautiful- no sickness whatsoever. It is a very large piece. The entire epergne stands 21 1/2" tall and the width spans horn to horn 16" at it's widest point. The bowl is 3" tall and is about 10 1/2" wide. This piece would be HUGE if loaded with a flower arrangement and would be magnificent! It is really a stunning piece- I don't think I have had anyone not gasp when they walk into the room and see it! As shown in the photos. This is missing 1 horn as it has 5 horns(arms) and can accommodate 6 arms. One arm is missing as shown in the photograph, but the brass fitting is there. I find no damage to the 5 horns. Each horn has clear applied glass that wraps beautifully around the horn and ends in a delicate tapered tail. The bowl has no ... morecracks or breaks. There are scratch marks on the bottom of the bowl where it touches the table and there are air bubbles- which are natural and an indicator of the age and technique used to form the piece. The individual horns measure as follows: The center horn is 16" tall and mechanically attaches to the bowl(the horn screws into the bowls fitting) The two smaller vertical horns measure 5" tall each. The three matching horns are about 10" long. I do not know the age or origin of this piece. My educated guess is this is British because of the applied glass. It is old- you can tell by the fittings and the plaster used to hold in the glass. That is something you see in Victorian era glass pieces. I will individually pack each arm carefully in bubble wrap and then in peanuts. I will pack the bowl in it's own box and will make sure that all the glass is packed in a way that it will make it to you safely. The cost for shipping will be $35 for US high bidder. Bohemian Victorian Art Glass Epergne Description: Victorian era. Three piece epergne is b lown of clear glass that has been tinted or rather stained with colour. The top portion of each piece is a amber colour with a faint iridescent hues. The bottom portion found on the large compote and middle vase is a faint lilac purple. The stem on the top vase is clear. Each piece is hand painted with hearts and geometric motifs done in vibrant enamels. The rim on each piece is cut with hand painted gold on the edge which does have fading present in areas. The middle section and top vase have a threaded stem. Truly a unique design and each piece does screw into each piece securely. The bottom of each stem is a solid piece of glass with moulded threads and has a number 3 on the very bottom. This green glass Victorian epergne is in fair to good condition. The two flowers look hand-blown and are in excellent condition with no breakage that I can see. The bowl that is the base has some issues: If you look at pic 5. There is something missing from the center. The edge/rim as seen is pic#7 is missing a rounded point, also in pic#8, it looks like there was some repair to a broken piece or there is a crack here. The base has some dirt but I am unsure how to clean it and don't want to damage it so I will leave that to the new owner. Due to the age and condition, this item is being sold as is. Large Victorian Epergne Cranberry Glass 5 Trumpets 21" Tall Holiday Centerpiece
This Cranberry Glass Epergne is from the late 1800's. I am selling it for a close friend who has had this in her family since it was new. Her mom passed away last year at the ripe old age of 95 who got it passed down from her aunt(around 1940) who had it for about 50 years at that point. That's when it suffered some unfortunate damage which cracked the base cleanly in half. It has been used for over 70 years this way replacing the tape every few decades as it dried out. I have been watching several appropriate bases sell over the past few months so they are out there and are very affordable to replace this one. But I am not the end collector so I'll leave it for you to decide if you want to do that. Realistically if you're going to use it as it was intended for, you'll never know the crack is there but IF you're going ... moreto display it empty then it may be an issue for you. The pix clearly show the crack as best as possible. I tried to capture views that show it the best and its such a clean break its difficult to do. Even in person, if you look at it empty you would be hard pressed to notice there's any damage. Had it not been for this damage. It would be PRISTINE in EVERY other way with NO chips, cracks, scratches, or other damages of ANY kind. No markings to identify the maker but it clearly is done by a HIGH QUALITY glassmaker as it is hand made. The Center Trumpet s tands an IMPRESSIVE 21 inches to the top and the colored section alone is 9" long with a 6-1/2" diameter ruffled edge. The two side trumpets stand approx at 14-1/2" and have 6" long gently curved colored sections with 4-1/2" diameter ruffled edges. The two clear twisted rope scrolled hanging arms are approx 15" tall and the trumpets hanging off them are at approx 10" and 8-1/2" high.
