Hand-blown vases, standing approximately 7 1/4" high, each featuring a different rendering of a frolicking child in the wilderness. Perfectly in tact, no noted damage over the entirety of both pieces. Very nice light cranberry colour indicative of late 19th or early 20th century creation. Two Lavender Mary Gregory Glass Cameo Vases
Mary Gregory worked for the Boston and Sandwich glass factory from 1880 to 1884 decorating Gone with the Wind style lamps. But she is best known for her white enameled often with images of children. These two vases are two such examples. The larger vase has an image of two girls in a field, each holding what looks to be bouquets of flowers with a landscape surrounding them. The smaller vase depicts a boy flying a kite in front of a wooden fence surrounded by foliage. The larger one has some white enamel detail with gold painted trim while the smaller one has none of this. They are both in good condition with the larger one in slightly better visible condition with no chips on the rim and only minor paint wear on the gold trim. The smaller one, on the other hand, has some chips on the rim with some dents on the inside of the top along with ... moresome air bubbles in the glass. The larger one stands approximately 12 inches high while the smaller one is 8 inches. Up for auction are a beautiful pair of hand blown. Amethyst vases with gilding along the top edges. The decoration is done in Mary Gregory style with white and pale colored enameling. On one vase is a young girl in Victorian dress with a basket of flowers. The other vase has a young girl in Victorian winter clothes in a snow scene. A few tiny specks of the white enamel paint is on the vases which occurred at the original time of the painting. See photos. There is slight wear to some of the enamel consistent with the age of the pieces. The expressions on the faces are charming and beautifully done. These vases would be a wonderful addition to your collection. The silver plated holders are by Wilcox Silverplate Company with crossed hammers in the maker's mark located on the bottom of the holders. The floral chasing and repousse on the holders ... moreis beautiful. However, three of the side pieces are missing parts of the stems. The pieces seem to have been broken off long ago. These were done as you can see in cased glass the inside glass layer is a stark white with the outside layer the rose. The wedding vases have become quite difficult to locate.not often found complete in the pair! They measure(13" in height and(4 1/4" wide at the mouth of the vase and at the base. There is some wear in the gold around the lip on both vases. There are no cracks in either vase. But the vase with the young prince displays(2) very small flakes under the edge of the lip. 2 Mary Gregory vases - cranberry glass - antique Victorian 19th c
Here is a pair of antique cranberry glass Mary Gregory vases. Which hail I believe from the 19th century. These vases feature a man and woman facing one another. They measure 8.5" high. Top is 5" wide, and base is 3-3/4" wide. There are some bubbles in the glass. And the glass is rimmed in gilt in 4 circles at base, and also underneath rim at top. There are just a few minor flea bites. Or nips, underneath the rim of vase featuring the man. Otherwise, very, very fine condition! Shipping is by standard mail unless buyer prefers otherwise. 1900c Pair Beautiful Ant Mary Gregory Bohemian Cobalt Blue H P Vases w/Cherubs
These are a beautiful pair of older vases hand painted by Mary Gregory. They are a rich cobalt blue bohemian glass with hand painted white cherubs surrounded by delicate flowers and stems. The design and style are quite beautifully Victorian. These vases date back to 1900. And are marked as so on the bottom of each piece. The original owner has noted the date and presenter of these wonderful gifts they received as wedding gifts. I, in turn, purchased them at an estate sale to feature in my eBay store. They both present in excellent condition despite their great age. There are no chips or cracks, just some surface scratching to the bottom surfaces from age. It appears as if they originated with thin gold trim around the top edge, this is no longer visible, as is common with age. Please view all the photos to enable the best descriptive aspects ... moreof the pieces. I can honestly say they look beyond fabulous for their 115 years of existence. Each vase stands 9 in tall with a 2 and a 1/2 in top opening; they measure 11 and a 1/2 in all the way around the bottom, which is the widest part; and the combined weight of both is 1 and a 1/2 pounds. Selling two 14.5 inch Mary Gregory hand blown Glass vases circa 1800's. Rare frosted Blue color. Overall in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, etc. No chips on the top rims, there are some minor bubbles in the glass, normal for hand blown glass from the period, you can see on the back on one vase and upper side on the other.
