It was hand blown and still has some roughness where the pontil was. There is an small mark from the crimping tool at the very top(in the red decoration) It shows in picture# 1. Which makes this piece very desirable. The color is a beautiful cranberry, which fades to clear by the end of the stem. This is an old Victorian piece circa 1900. Beautiful Jack in the pulpit or calla lily design is a gorgeous blue with white milky glass that appears to drip down the entire vase. BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN VASE: Rare harder to find size and color. Hand blown with a pontil bottom JIP vase. The tallest point is 9 3/4" and the widest point is 8 1/4" A slight lavender SKY blue color with oxblood edging color. Nicely pleated and ruffled. The blue glass is slightly transparent when held up to the light. It looks real nice with a light behind it to show off the hobnail style bumps as you can see the little center dots well. GREAT CONDITION. No chips, cracks or nicks. The bottom it has some dirty ash? from making where the pontil was broke off& some thin glass. In the last picture at 9:00 you can see a small split in the applied layer of red glass. Was probably an air bubble popped. At 12:02 on the blue at the turn-in you can see a faint mark of color on the blue. This all is just nothing for this age of glass making. ... moreThe vase is actually very clean and nicely defined. heres is a set of four'jack in the pulpit' style Swedish art glass bud vases from I believe the 1960s. they all appear to be in excellent original condition. they have controlled bubble solid weighted bases. the tall light green one measures 10 3/4'h. The shorter green one 8'h, the dark blue 7 3/4'h, the light blue 7 1/4'h. they are quite beautiful in the light. winner gets all four.

This auction is for an early and and unsigned jack in the pulpit vase. We are not sure who made this vase. However. It has a great design. Early pieces were often not signed and the paper labels would often be missing. It is in fine condition and measures 12 1/2" The pulpit measures 6 1/2" x 6" It came from our personal collection and will be listing more glass in the next few days. No overseas shipping. Reduced Price Sale 10 Day: BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN VASE: Rare harder to find size and color. Hand blown with a pontil bottom JIP vase. The tallest point is 9 3/4" and the widest point is 8 1/4" A Blue Opaque glass. Slight lavender SKY blue color with oxblood edging color. Nicely pleated and ruffled. The blue glass is slightly transparent when held up to the light. It looks real nice with a light behind it to show off the hobnail style bumps as you can see the little center dots well. GREAT CONDITION, no chips, cracks or nicks. Attributed to: Boston and Sandwich Glass Company 1825-1888. Most likely made 1850's- 1860's. The bottom it has some dirty ash? from making where the pontil was broke off& some thin glass. In the last picture at 9:00 you can see a small split in the applied layer of red glass. Was probably an air bubble ... morepopped. At 12:02 on the blue at the turn-in you can see a faint mark of color on the blue. This all is just nothing for this age of glass making. Victorian Blue with Oxblood Art Glass Jack In Pulpit Vase 1800's Rare 9 3/4 Tall
This is truly one of the most beautiful pieces of Art Glass that I have ever seen. It is Excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, or scrapes It is a used item with no damage. The body of the vase is a lovely Light Blue that rises up and opens out to form the shape of the Jack in the Pulpit. The oxblood outer ruffled rim of the vase has the tool marks where the glass was held and pulled to form the shape of the Jack In the Pulpit. The bumps that result from this are often wrongly referred to as hobnail. This Handmade vase is often attributed to the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company Circa 1860. It is the Rare 9 3/4inches Tall, and is 8 inches wide across the widest part of the ruffle. The base measures 5 1/2 inches across. It has a broken pontil on the bottom with a few specks of ash, which is again, is typical of this time period. I sincerely believe this was made by the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, but I could not locate the necessary information to validate it. It comes from a pet free, smoke free home. It's made of three layers of glass: milk glass on the inside. Frosty clear glass in the middle, and pink glass overlay on the outside. It is possible that it is milk glass inside, pink glass in the middle, and frosty clear on the outside, difficult to tell. C.1860-1900. It measures 4 1/4 in. in diameter at the base, 3 1/2 in. in diameter at the top, and 8 3/4 in. tall. Condition is excellent, no chips, fleabites, or crazing, but as expected for a true antique has some slight scratching/wear. The base has six applied feet that are formed into leaves. The ruffled rim has a mauve accent. The vaseline glass flower has cranberry and white speckled accents. The edge of the flower is chipped.
