A straight-arm antique style settee crafted after the original works of New England. The frame has a wonderful square profile. The tight lines given ease in the well carved reeded arms and legs. The mellow pink striped upholstery is in excellent condition, bringing a warm airiness to the overall design. The crest has a soft serpentine along the entire length. All of the exposed wood is mahogany, a fine glowing polish over the deep red finish of the solid mahogany. Up for auction is a beautiful gooseneck sofa from the early 1900's. This one is especially nice because it has goose carved feet on the front and back of the sofa. The sofa was recovered. Sat in a formal living room and hardly ever used. The wood is either walnut or mahogany. The crest of the back of the sofa has round bead carvings. The goose or swan carving on the front arms is especially nice as well. Circa 1930 originating from the Art Deco period. The frame of the suite is constructed of mahogany. The suite features fresh replacement single panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back. The suite boasts a lovely curved shape from the back into the sweeping scroll arms. The suite features a central floral carved mahogany shaped splat and at the corners of the couch are step-downs. Which are typical of the Art Deco period. The base of the suite features a brass-studded frame and below the suite descends onto decorative bun feet at the front and sabre legs to the rear. A mahogany wood frame makes this solidly built piece really stand out with lots of carved details to the woods. Here is a delightful early 20th century mahogany empire style green upholstered sofa in very nice condition for it's age. This terrific sofa has beautiful flame mahogany veneer on both the serpentine top and the bottom front rail and stands on it's original casters. This sofa measures 84 inches or 7 feet long and stands 33 inches tall to the highest point on the top rail and 27 inches front to back. The seat height is 16 inches and the arm height 24 inches. The bench seat between the arms measures 63 inches long and 20 inches front to back. This lovely piece has an upholstered back as well so it could be floated in any room. It is certainly in nice enough to be used as in in a"comfortable house" and again. Is a great candidate for full restoration with minimal veneer repair and new upholstery. I purchased this item in London at auction on February 20th. 2001 for 900 pounds sterling and I had it shipped to the US with a lot of other furniture that I purchased. The auctioneers estimate was 800- 1,200 pounds, so I got a good deal on it. Including the auction commission/ freight. In current dollars, my cost was approx. $2,000 for this item. The auctioneer was the esteemed Bonhams. As I am leaving. I am looking to recover a lot less than this- great deal for you! With cane backing and arms, and the original cushions. I am not sure what the cushions are made of as I have never opened them, but they are not plush and fluffy, rather more solid. The sofa and chair are supported by clawfoot bulbous feet. The cane is in good shape. As is the wood. The feet are solid. However, there are a couple of wood blocks at the corners that have come loose and have been glued back. Overall structure is very solid and sturdy. The three seat sofa measures 69 inches long. By 37 inches deep, by 32 inches high at the highest point. Each cushion on the sofa(three total) measures 20 1/2 inches. For total 61 1/2 sitting area. The two chairs are the same. They measure 30 inches wide. By 37 inches deep, and 32 inches high. We originally purchased this sofa suite for our indoor porch. But have since used them in other rooms. 1930's Mahogany Trimmed Sofa and Two Matching Chairs
This auction if for one sofa and two side chairs. The set was originally bought in the 1930's and then reupholstered in 1962 in the current fabric. The couch measures about 80 inches at the widest point. And 34 inches tall to the top of the filigree carving. The wingback chair is around 35 inches wide, and 39 inches tall to the top of the filigree carving. The other chair is around 35 inches wide, and 35 inches tall to the top of the filigree carving. The sofa has three shaped, carved feet in the front and two curved but not decorative feet in the back. The other two chairs have shaped, and carved feet in the front but only curved feet in the back. The fabric on the sofa and chairs are in excellent condition with only a bit of wear. Pre 1950s Duncan Phyfe Style Mahogany Sofa - Original Upholstery
This Duncan Phyfe Style sofa is from our grandmother's collection. It is in very good. Original condition. Mahogany wood is in great shape, with some minor wear given the age of the piece. There is a small chip(see photo) on the back wood frame. Fabric is in excellent condition, no fading, loose threads or stains. Cushions are plump and comfortable and have working zippers. There appears to be two coil springs that need to be re clipped, however they do not create an uncomfortable seating surface and the sofa is ready for use immediately. The sofa has been in my husband's office and more of a show piece versus actual use. Very little use and we are a non smoking home. We prefer local pickup. But are willing to work with a shipper of your choice should you care to pay freight.

The fabric shows a little more white and less dirty than it appears in real life. The two cylinder shaped cushions are included. They do come off. They are not sewn into place. A great selection of mahogany was used to build the frame and has some very nice hand carved detail to it. Both the back rest and the arm rests are detailed with flora-like carvings that really help accent the overall elegant shape of the chaise. Four turned feet keep the entire piece sturdy and strong. The frame is in excellent condition with only a few minor wear marks here and there. The seating area measures 61″ wide and 20″ deep. The seat is 16″ high and the arm rests are 29.5″ high. This elegant antique chaise sofa would look great in any home or office! The arm rests have a lovely shape and are decorated with fine carvings. The turned feet are also quite sturdy. This Chippendale claw and ball foot. Camel back reproduction sofa and is in excellent, pristine condition. There's not a spot or stain on the anywhere on the upholstery and very clean with no need to reupholster. I purchased it in 2006 and it was rarely sat on. It measures 75" at its widest(curved arms) and 35" at its highest(back middle) I don't have the receipt but I know I paid at least $2,000 at time of purchase. It has a lot of character and is a very solid piece of furniture(not cheap wood. Etc. and would go great in any foyer, parlor room, living room, or even a bedroom.

Vintage Carved Mahogany French style Sofa by Karpen Bros c1930
This is a genuine Karpen Bros french style mahogany sofa in very good condition. All the trim and frame are undamaged and the material is in decent shape for its age.I researched this piece after discovering the name Karpen Brothers Huntington Park,Ca under the frame and this would indicate it was built around 1930. It has 6 cushions and is covered in a beige striped silk blend with blush rose colored rose buds. a very nice material that should be dry cleaned not steam cleaned to prevent damage to the material there is some signs of wear and dinginess to the arms and some fraying to the binding on one of the cushions but otherwise no tears and no stains I was told by my aunt and grandmother that it had been appraised to be valued around $4500-5000 by an Antique furniture expert in L.A.at least 25 yrs ago.
