Austrian Designer Mid Century Maple Curved Chaise Lounge Paul T. Frankl????
This very unusual curved chaise lounge was purchased in Kitchener Canada and has been in my possesion for over 20 years. It is a designer piece. I was told by an Austrian designer, at one time someone showed me info on the designer and a picture of the chaise launge on line, but I cannot find that factoid. It is a hardwood frame, it had been professionsally restored and has been recovered about ten years ago, some minor scuffs on the frame and spots on the cover. The dowels in the legs need to be re-glued, as they have loosened; the feet take a lot of toque. Overall the imperfections are minor and expected of furniture that is that age. Not a museum piece but it shows well. It is 80 inches long by about 30 inches wide, and 31 inches high. This is unsual and it is not likely you will ever see anything like this. Art Deco MCM Sofa & Chair Paul Frankl Inspired Couch Vtg Mid Century Upholstered
Here is a Sofa and Chair Set. The lines convey classic Art Deco Styling. There is a tag under the cushions from a local fabric upholsterer, it appears as though the fabric was updated sometime in the 1950's or 1960's with high end fabric. The sofa in blue, the chair is pretty in pink. Both are trimmed with tassel fringe. The condition is quite good. Especially for their age. The sofa has some discoloration at the rear of the arms, the edge of the vertical seat pillar, and some striations along the back. If your room is not crazy well lit, you may not even notice it. Also, one small tear on a side of the couch, which I am ashamed to admit, was my fault: The tassel is the most worn aspect.
