A straight-arm antique style settee crafted after the original works of New England. The frame has a wonderful square profile. The tight lines given ease in the well carved reeded arms and legs. The mellow pink striped upholstery is in excellent condition, bringing a warm airiness to the overall design. The crest has a soft serpentine along the entire length. All of the exposed wood is mahogany, a fine glowing polish over the deep red finish of the solid mahogany. This is an outstanding form, replicated countlessly over the last 200 years, being a remarkably successful design. Gaze at the lovely camel back backrest which flows down to amazing slightly flared and gently rolled arms. The seat cushion gives this piece clean lines and gives it a very mod ern feel. This sofa, along with a matching Chippendale upholstered arm chair, another upholstered easy chair and a beautiful Pembroke drop leaf table were purchased as a set at an antique show in Santa Monica in 1987. At that time they were said to be 64 years old. Putting them at circa 1923, though they may well be older. The dealer had purchased them in Rockport, Illinois as salesman ... moresamples. The construction and upholstery all indicates that they were in fact made as salesman samples and not apprentice pieces or doll furniture. The mahogany is beautifully carved and finished and in good condition. The joints are tight with no wobbly bits or cracks. The painted silk is fragile and in very rough. Shabby chic condition consistent with age. There is loss of paint. Splits in the fabric and staining. Please study the photos with the zoom feature to see these issues. This piece is incredibly charming despite the vintage condition and displays beautifully. It is extremely rare to find a miniature upholstered piece of this age. Here is a delightful early 20th century mahogany empire style green upholstered sofa in very nice condition for it's age. This terrific sofa has beautiful flame mahogany veneer on both the serpentine top and the bottom front rail and stands on it's original casters. This sofa measures 84 inches or 7 feet long and stands 33 inches tall to the highest point on the top rail and 27 inches front to back. The seat height is 16 inches and the arm height 24 inches. The bench seat between the arms measures 63 inches long and 20 inches front to back. This lovely piece has an upholstered back as well so it could be floated in any room. It is certainly in nice enough to be used as in in a"comfortable house" and again. Is a great candidate for full restoration with minimal veneer repair and new upholstery. The fabric shows a little more white and less dirty than it appears in real life. A great selection of mahogany was used to build the frame and has some very nice hand carved detail to it. The frame is in excellent condition with only a few minor wear marks here and there. The seating area measures 61″ wide and 20″ deep. The seat is 16″ high and the arm rests are 29.5″ high. Antique Victorian Parlor Sofa/ Couch ~ Newly Upholstered by Professional
Available is an authentic antique Victorian full sized sofa couch. It has been fully restored and reupholstered by Amish craftsmen. The upholstery is a heavy rich creamy ivory/white brocade with a satin finish. The carved wood I believe is rosewood. The seat cushion is one single removable cushion. The couch hasn't been used since it was reupholstered and restored. There is one flaw- a chip to the top of one of the flowers on the top left hand side of the couch. Please see the last photo. Otherwise. The sofa is in excellent vintage condition and the upholstery is spotless. BEAUTIFUL & UNUSUAL VINTAGE HEYWOOD WAKEFIELD WICKER AND UPHOLSTERED SOFA COUCH
This is a beautiful and unusual Heywood Wakefield sofa. It was made around 1930. It is a black wicker highlighted with brown paint and black and brown upholstery. It is in very nice condition with only a couple of small pieces of broken wicker on the back and on the front on the bottom. There are also spots on the back that my cat used to sharpen his claws. The upholstery also has two tiny tears(see the last four pictures) It is 86" long and 37-1/2" high at the highest part. It comes with two matching pillows.

Here is a Sofa and Chair Set. The lines convey classic Art Deco Styling. There is a tag under the cushions from a local fabric upholsterer, it appears as though the fabric was updated sometime in the 1950's or 1960's with high end fabric. The sofa in blue, the chair is pretty in pink. Both are trimmed with tassel fringe. The condition is quite good. Especially for their age. The sofa has some discoloration at the rear of the arms, the edge of the vertical seat pillar, and some striations along the back. If your room is not crazy well lit, you may not even notice it. Also, one small tear on a side of the couch, which I am ashamed to admit, was my fault: The tassel is the most worn aspect. VINTAGE 40'S RE UPHOLSTERED EXCELLENT FLORAL black SOFA COUCH
Reupholstered sofa from 1940s. The fabric with one of the regulars was from calico corners and was about $75 a yard. The cost to reupholster plus the fabric was about $2000. The colors and the fabric are Black. Red, green, and gold. It is a three cushion sofa and has been well-maintained. Proximate measurements are 34 inches in height 72 1/2 inches in length 28 inches in depth. Each one of the cushions measures 21" x 25.5" x 4.5" Each one of these days cushion covers are zippered and can be removed. Purchase as it is Pick up only. If you want to have it shipped. The firm passed to brothers Harry and Lou Epstein and the pair turned their attention to the production of Art Deco forms from the 1930s until the 1950s. Finished to high standards. Most pieces were custom-made in veneers of burr maple, sycamore or walnut. The design of the famous‘cloud’ seat furniture is credited to Epstein and the company also popularized the uniquely British taste in suite furniture. Following World War II. Epstein had showrooms in London, Manchester and Glasgow. A conservative Art Deco style became the company`s trademark after the war and most pieces were made from bleached walnut. Art Deco pieces are not signed. From the 1960s. Some pieces were labelled‘H. L. Epstein’ or‘Epstein& Goldman’ Walnut The Walnut woods are probably the most recognisable and popular of all the exotic woods. Having been used in furniture making for many centuries. Walnut veneer was highly priced and the cost would reflect the‘fanciness’ of the veneer– the more decorative, then the more expensive and desirable. Kravet sofa. 9 years old. Sofa could be cleaned. New cushion inserts needed. Upholstered in mohair. Extremely durable. Luxurious and cleanable fabric. Mohair retails for 200+ per yard. A caned back upholstered sofa circa early 20th century. Measuring approximately 79" long, 36-1/8" tall, and 28" deep. It does need to be re-upholstered and there are a couple of L-brackets on the back(pictured) but it is in good condition overall. There is normal wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Fabulous Art Deco Sofa and two Chairs. Downsizing and everything must go. All three pieces were reupholstered 20 years ago. The red chair was done in a beautiful Vintage Geranium Red fabric and the other pieces in top of the line Designer fabric. The set is in fabulous condition with minor scuffs on the feet. I prefer local pick up or you are welcome to arrange shipping. That said. The furniture would need to be picked up from my house. I do not have access to a truck.
