It features a full barrel back. Loosely tufted with a curved crest and outward scrolled arms. The upholstery is quite comfortable and in overall very good condition, noting the minor flaws mentioned below. It rests over six carved cabriole legs, each terminating in lightly scrolled french toes. It is a fine piece for that sunroom or corner of the bedroom, very sturdy and strong throughout and perfect to stretch out on. It is a wonderful supplement to any home with a flare for French decorative arts and furniture. Old Vintage or Antique Victorian Gossip Bench Settee
This is a very beautiful victorian gossip bench! It has magnificent carvings all over and would look great in any home in just about any room or hallway. I cannot say exactly how old it is. But it is definitely many decades. Has small scuff/tear in bottom back side as seen in pictures. I believe it was probably recovered at some point, but I do not know. Also, the white portion of the handle is busted, but can easily be replaced if you choose to do so. Very minor issues in comparison to the elegant beauty this piece brings. Very Nice Vintage 5 Piece Settee Set Velveteen
Item 2839. Very nice vintage 5 piece wooden and velveteen settee/love seat set. The set is in very good condition. It does have light scuffs. But no deep scratches. I have not done any refinishing as it is in the same condition as when I acquired it. The best I can tell it is all original accept for the coverings on the bottoms of the seats. It appears the original covering is under the black coverings someone has put on. It is still solid with no cracks in the wood. The material is in very good condition with very light wear. The set consists of the settee/love seat, kings chair, a platform rocker, a padded straight back chair and a straight back chair. All are still in very good condition. Vintage settee~ gossip bench~good shape~Lots of potential, beautuful piece
This beautiful settee would make a great piece in any home with a little TLC. Take a look at pictures buying as is. It does need the bottom fixed from years of use it needs to be re supported as you can see from the pictures, there are a few places on the bottom where the wood has splintered, and the seat has sagged from sitting on it, Also the right arm does have a few small marks on it. But this bench has great potential it would look absolutely beautiful refinished. I believe the wood is mahogany but I am not 100% sure about that, it has very ornate detailing in the wood carving. The fabric is still in great shape if you wanted to re use it, it just needs tacked down a few places like on the seat. I believe it is very old if you look very closely at the detail there are small variations which means it would not have been machine made but ... morewould have been hand made. It measures almost 4 feet in length and about 3 feet high and about 18 inches in depth. Antique Vintage Settee Louis Gustavian Type White Gold Distressed Paint TLC
This little guy comes from a parlor set that hasn't been used since the 50s. The set itself dates from the 1910s or 20s and came here to NYC by way of Belgium. So I don't know if it's french, italian or of other euro manufacture but that's how I typically see them advertised. Well worn with distressed paint job. The upholstery is old and discolored and must be replaced. The trim is oddly bright and could be reused I guess. Structurally solid to sit and move around in. I took a couple chairs from the set. My aunt took one, but we have two side chairs left in this original condition if you are interested also. This auction is for just the settee! This Queen Anne loveseat with carved wood and tapestry style fabric has a delicate floral pattern. It features a floral carved crest rail and scroll armrest fronts. It also has channel back corners that connect the backrest to the arms. It is in good vintage condition. But I don't know the year it was made. Fantastic estate sale purchase. This is just lovely, wonderful carving, wonderful shape and form. great size low like slipper chair, measures 31" tall, 15 inches to top of seat. It is 41 inches wide and 20 inches deep. Perfect size for end of bed or in the ladies bedroom, extremely comfortable. It is sturdy as can be was painted white not so well a long time ago, needs new upholstery and has the old springs all good but need to be retied, sag a little bit, all minor stuff, this is a charmer.
