The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 48 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 38 inches high to the crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. Each end also offers curved crest rails. All three sections have beautifully tufted backs. Open padded arms lead to wonderfully carved hand rest with with incised carving and large drop finials. A shaped seat rail is supported by four turned legs and original brass capped casters. This fantastic sofa does have an old repair to one end which appears to be very sturdy and secure and one rosette at the left end of the sofa has some inlay loss. Thank goodness the repair is there or by today's standards it would have been in the dump and we would have lost this wonderful piece of art~just my opinion. The vintage cream colored fabric does show some ware on one corner and arm and needs a gentle cleaning. Please look closely and enlarge the pictures as all the detail cannot be shown in 12. Measurements: 45 inches high 68 inches long 33 inches deep 18 floor to seat weight 35 lbs. The matching chair features the same beautifully carved crest drop finials and turned legs. Very sound with no"apologies" The fabric is in very good condition. Being offered for sale is this Fancy Early Victorian Carved Walnut Settee with Magnificent Carved Grapes circa 1865. This splendid 19th century settee features fabulous detailed carving of grapes& leaves on the triple serpentine crest-rail with highly carved arm supports and a triple serpentine seat-rail with a cluster of grapes at the center with brass casters intact on the feet. This settee measures 40 3/4 inches high from the floor to the top of the back center.With a total length of 66 1/2 inches, seat width of 47 inches and seat depth of 19 inches with a seat height to the floor of 17 inches and this settee weighs approximately 75 lbs. Vintage sage green velvet fabric is in wonderful vintage condition with no tears or rips but could use a gentle cleaning here and there. Up for auction is a beautiful gooseneck sofa from the early 1900's. This one is especially nice because it has goose carved feet on the front and back of the sofa. The sofa was recovered. Sat in a formal living room and hardly ever used. The wood is either walnut or mahogany. The crest of the back of the sofa has round bead carvings. The goose or swan carving on the front arms is especially nice as well. The dimensions are as follows: straight across from arm to arm is 74 inches, from floor to top of the seat cushion is 19 1/2" from floor to top of the back 34" from the back of the arm to the front of the arm is 31" seating area is 23" deep and 59" across. This is an extra large solid walnut floral carved sofa with four cabriole legs in front that dates from the 1920s or‘30s. It appears to ... morehave been reupholstered at some point in a really nice multi-colored striped period fabric that looks wonderful against the solid wood frame. The great thing about this sofa is not only is it large enough to stretch out on. It also appears to be down filled on the cushions. The frame itself is what they call a wraparound, which means it has wood all the way around in a big oval. In the center crest there are carved flowers, and little minute carved points. It has carved knuckles on the arms, carved forearms, carved cabriole legs, and of course the skirt is all carved. The overall size is 76 inches wide on the outside, 60 inches wide on the inside, 33 inches to the top of the carved crest, and 21 inches to the seat, but it does smoosh down because of the down-filled cushions. Circa 1930 originating from the Art Deco period. The frame of the suite is constructed of English walnut. The suite features fresh replacement single panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back. The suite boasts a lovely curved shape from the back into the sweeping scroll arms. The suite features a central floral carved walnut shaped splat and at the corners of the couch are step-downs. Which are typical of the Art Deco period. The base of the suite features a brass-studded frame and below the suite descends onto decorative bun feet at the front and sabre legs to the rear. The suite is fitted with removable cream leather cushions that are all in excellent condition. The suite features a sprung base below. The suite seats up to four people comfortably. An outstanding 2 piece parlor set. Picked them up at auction here in Upstate New York. Believed to be from the 1930's. Heavily carved dark walnut with spectacular upholstery. Sofa measures 77" long. 33" deep and 33.5" tall at it's tallest point. Chair measures 30" wide, 30" deep and 33" tall. Both pieces need the seems sewed on the cushions unless you flip them. I am not a seamstress so I'll leave that up to the buyer. Outside if that. I would recommend a cleaning of the upholstery as I would with any items this old to bring back the amazing luster. Beautiful antique 1920's cane sofa with matching chair and rocker. On bottom of sofa is old sticker marked Fox Manufacturing. Atlanta, GA.a little research showed that they were in business from 1919 until they went out of business during the Great Depression.so I believe this set was made during the 20's.the wood appears to be walnut.it is in fantastic condition and very sturdy, also very comfortable. The only damage I can find is a small 1/2" hole in the cane back of the sofa on the left side, see last pic, where the cane has broke but is still there, the finish is worn a little in that spot, also some veneer is missing on one back leg on the back side, see third pic from last.the chair and rocker are in excellent condition.the tapestry upholstery is newer, and very clean, no wear or tears in fabric, all tight and neat.I love ... morethis set! Provenance: I purchased this suite from a beautiful house in Hampstead. London. It was in a drawing room that was hardly ever used so this suite is in really excellent unmarked condition.
