The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. There are no stains! There is visible wear only on the cording edge of the chair arms and minor wear on the cording edge of the sofa. Please see pictures as they are part of this description. The antique store that I bought this set from told me that the set is made of walnut wood. From Italy. The set is really sturdy and there are no damages to the wood. the couch measures 6 ft. 1 in. the only real problem i see with all of it is the lower front right leg on the couch. it has come apart and someone tried to glue it. im sure someone could fix it. the chairs swivel and rock. you get everything pictured. couch with foam cushons to be recovered. This amazing original RATTAN furniture set includes a sofa(4 chairs together) Plus one additional arm chair, plus a coffee table, plus one square side table. The set includes t hree(3) sets of chair cushions(blue. Orange flowered print, and orange/tan/brown leaf print) The orange flowered print is the newest one, hardly used. The other cushions have been used and there are minor imperfections to some of them. The blue cushions come with 4 additional decorative square cushions(see photo) All pieces are being sold together as a package. This is original. Antique, vintage rattan furniture. Everything has been imported from the Philippines, and d ates from before 1952. All pieces were r efinished in 1994. And are in very good condition. This is u nique and sturdy rattan construction. Antique / Vintage Sofa, Chair, Rocker Set
This is an antique/ vintage living room/ parlor set that belonged to my great grandmother in Texas. It is very possibly pre-1900. It is a beautiful set that has been well taken care of(we don't sit on it) The wood. I believe, is cherry. The upholstery is a gold velvet striped(indented) type material that was professionally redone many years ago. The original covering was horsehair. There is a couch(or love seat. As it is not as long as a modern couch) a rocker, and a chair. There are very few scratches or cracks in the wood. The lines you see in the pics are the connections of the wood. The wood is VERY solid. Not the spindly type(its actually kind of massive) There are some small scuffs on some of the feet that can be hidden with frequent oiling. The upholstery is in excellent shape and they have material covering the bottoms of each ... morepiece as well. I. Unfortunately do not know the maker, but do know they are high quality pieces. I don't want to part with them. But I am moving and these pieces do not fit well into modern homes. The money is going to my mother in a retirement facility. 1930's Antique Parlor Set Chair Sofa/Couch Carved Dark Walnut Tufted Buttons
An outstanding 2 piece parlor set. Picked them up at auction here in Upstate New York. Believed to be from the 1930's. Heavily carved dark walnut with spectacular upholstery. Sofa measures 77" long. 33" deep and 33.5" tall at it's tallest point. Chair measures 30" wide, 30" deep and 33" tall. Both pieces need the seems sewed on the cushions unless you flip them. I am not a seamstress so I'll leave that up to the buyer. Outside if that. I would recommend a cleaning of the upholstery as I would with any items this old to bring back the amazing luster. CONDITION: This set requires reupholstery and some restoration to the rattan joint binding but is otherwise in very good. All original condition. RATTAN CHAIR FRAMES: Some of the rattan joint binding is loose in places and missing altogether at a few joints. All of this is documented in the photos. Most noticeably. Both of the armless chairs are absent some rattan joint binding where the rear seat is attached to the base of the back rest. Description Local pick up or buyer must schedule his/her own delivery. This is a fabulous peach and black two toned sofa and chair set. There is a nubby black wool blend fabric with peach vinyl. Which is easy to keep clean. The condition is good with one tiny nibble at the bottom of one of the peach panels on the chair front, which is hard to notice and could be repaired. The panels on one side of couch comes loose and only needs to be glued in. The top of sofa folds back to make a sleeper. Other than this, looks good, sharp set but could use a re-upholster on seats to make fluffier and has normal wear. I have owned this set for 14 years.
