This is a great vintage couch with a great history! It's a pink velvet vintage couch(likely 1940s) that was used in the film"Dangerous Games" AKA"Snake Eyes" starring Madonna. Harvey Keitel, and James Russo. This sofa was in the apartment of Madonna's character in the film, picture d. We also are selling the ch airs that Harvey Keit el is sittin g in. Th ese pieces belong to someone who worked in the art department of the film and they are totally authentic. The sofa measures 87" long x 27.5" deep x 18" seat height. 36" back height. It ha d been slip-covered(we recently unearthed the pink velvet underneath) and it is in excellent condition. Ready to use. No major condition issues or odors, just some wear along the piping along the bottom. Great carved grey French finish feet. And the seat cushion ... moreis one long single cushion. Piping around the edges and the rolled arms. Included are two pink round satin pouf ottomans that coordinate with the sofa. And they were in the film too. The ottomans measure 26" diameter, 16" high, but they do have some stains and one center tuft button has come off so they will need to be slipcovered or reupholstered. What we have here is An Original. Excellent condition, Machine Age” tubular chrome sofa, designed by: K.E.M. Weber for the Lloyd Manufacturing Company(a Heywood-Wakefield company) c. the 1930’s. This piece is in 100% it’s original condition. Despite being around 80 years young. This sofa looks practically New! There are no; cuts, tares, burns, rips, holes, or blemishes to the original upholstery. There are six removable cushions(the three seat cushions have a bottom lining of black canvas/material) The upholstery is sienna brown in color, trimmed in a butter/cream and having an almost hide like leather texture. The sofas steel frame is nearly pristine, and is intact with all of the original: hardware, lacquered blonde sculpted wood arm rests, and the original veneered board bottom(that is bolted and secured) on top of the frames metal platform. ... moreThe original Lloyd Manufacturing Co. factory sticker is equally in as remarkable a shape as the rest of the piece. Fully intact and legible, the sticker can be found on the underneath side of the frame below the seat cushions. The only few and very small signs of ware that are present on this piece are: very minimal amounts of rust/oxidation on the steel around the base and back of frame. As well as a couple of tiny areas of discoloration on the upholstery where the leather sat against the metal. And that is all, as far as the imperfections go! Oscar Wilde A Good c.1930 Art Deco Period Leather Club Sofa Period: Art Deco Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1925-35 Height: 31.5 inches Width: 62 inches Depth: 36 inches(all at maximum) The early twentieth century quality leather and close studwork upholstered two-seater sofa. Hailing from the Art Deco period, having cigar shaped arms, the whole of deep and roomy proportions sitting on Deco inspired angular fanned feet. In what we like to describe as‘country house condition’ The sofa is in fair to good overall condition. She does not require re-springing or any major structural repairs and she is sturdy and with no replacement parts. The leather to the whole is of good quality and is worn, but appealingly so, ... morenow wonderfully supple. There are old patches and three tears present to include one to the lower front, four to her back, two of which are patched and one area of peel to a shoulder. Although none of the tears are too detrimental to the whole, indeed they could be repaired, she is suitably priced to reflect these imperfections. The word"club" in club chair harks back to the gentlemen's clubs in nineteenth century England where a gentleman could go to get away from his household(including womenfolk) Once there. AMERICAN ART DECO COUCH from the 1930's- 1940's. Fully restored. Re-upholstered with hand-tied springs and new fabric. The fabric is called"Dances with Waves" by Koloman Moser. This fabric is a re-edition from Koloman Moser by Unika Vaev. In 1903. Together with his friend and colleague Josef Hoffman, he found Wiener Werkstatte, whose workshops set trends that spread far beyond the boundaries of Vienna.
