The library and its furnishings were built and created in 1959-1960. The interior also featured Florence Knoll chairs and tables. This Mid Century. Architecturally inspired sofa is extremely unusual in that it has a"pull-out" feature that creates a deeper seating area or daybed for one. Seldom seen. We spoke with the librarian at the location, who had been there for 30+ years, and were told that the chairs and sofa had been recovered in the late 1970's. It measures 76" long, 28" high, seat is 30" deep and 36" when extended. The pull out feature works smoothly. The seat cushion is not attached. It has a square tubular brushed chrome and steel frame and legs and light blue tweed fabric. There is a frayed area on the front bottom right corner of the bottom platform and there is some minor discoloration but it has not been steamed cleaned. Vintage Six Strand Rattan Sectional Couch or Sofa with Two Chairs and an Ottoman
Up for auction is a set of vintage six strand rattan living room or sun room furniture consisting of one sectional couch or sofa. Two chairs, and an ottoman. The sectional couch has three pieces but the middle piece could stand alone as another chair, and the couch could be reduced to a loveseat. The overall condition is good. But used. All pieces could use refinishing and some repair to the caning, but they are sturdy and look fine with cushions. The couch or sofa has reproduction bark cloth cushions(that match another rattan armchair I have for sale right now) and the chairs and ottoman have contemporary cushions. This was part of an inheritance we received. It's so beautiful and hate to sell it, but we have no space. Free pick-up in South Brooklyn. Very nice set consisting of 3 pieces sectional sofa.mid-century.Italian made French Provincial. This set is Italian baroque. The frame is professional hand-made solid wood nicely detailed carvings. 100% massive wood. The frame has a very subtle sort of movement carved into it. Which have been stunningly decorated with all sorts of flowers and different carvings. Whole unit is ver y s olid and very comfy. There is only one button popped. I ts shown in one pic. Hardly noticeable. There are no rips or repairs. I will include the beautiful rug that can be seen in some pics. Very high quality and clean. It does have some light scuffing in various areas as expected for its age. But all very minor. The first ... more6 pics colors came out weird, the last 6 are more color accurate. The longest seat section is 120cm. Two single sections 66cm, two v-sections 64cm at widest point. It's 78cm tall 90cm deep and has 39cm seat height.
