It is signed by artist“George Jeffery” and also has large gold monograms on bottom. The bowl is oval shaped with scalloped edges and has four large scroll feet. It measures approximately 10 ½” x 8” at the mouth and is 5 ¼” tall. The size is impressive. It is hand painted inside and out with a floral designs and is elaborately decorated with gold and pink, all on a white background. This is an antique French dresser box. Oval and bombe shaped. Sevres porcelain with the mark of the studio" Chateau de Longpre" and the word"France" on the bottom. The strong colbalt blue color is accented by the gold design, hand painted and hand designed. The handpainted scene on the lid is that of a pair of lovers in a garden. The artist who signed this box is"A. Grisard" and the signature is located on the left side of the painting. The lid opens to reveal roses on the inside of the lid and bottom of the box. The lid is framed with the ormolu and is hinged on the back side. It opens and closes well. The only wear on this piece is little considering the age. Which must be over 100 years. This is a beautiful china antique dresser box which is hand painted and signed by the artist. Reinhold Freiberg. Mr. Freiberg was an artist who had his own studio in Chicago from 1913 to 1924. This box has beautiful blossoms in shades of lavender with leaves in shades of greens. The details are exquisite. It has gold gilding around the lid which has some loss, but not bad. This auction is for a antique porcelain hinged trinket box. There is an artist signature on the cover. But I cannot read it. The box measures approx. 4" x 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" H. There is a small area on the cover where the porcelain has pulled away a bit from the metal. The cover is not resting exactly even over the base, and I don't want to bend, for fear of damage. It is quite minor. The courting scene on cover has the man playing his instrument, while her's lies next to her. There is heavy gilding all over. Front scene is a soft blue with trees. For your consideration is this antique trinket box. This box was made by Samson& Co. A French firm that produced porcelain in the 19th century. It was often mistaken for Chinese export because it was common for Samson to mark their wares with a pseudo-iron red seal resembling a Chinese stamp. The hand-painted hinged box has pink. Purple, and orange roses and other flower shapes surrounding a coat-of-arms. There is a banner beneath that reads LABOR, which could be referring to, or relating to the labour party. The hinges and trim look to be either brass or bronze, and the box sits in a footed frame that has been embellished ... morewith a beautiful cloisonne in the colors of blue, green, and red. This item measures 3 1/4" tall by 5 1/4" long by 3 3/4" wide. The trinket box is in good condition for its age. Except for a hairline crack that runs diagonally across the top of the box. Beautiful antique porcelain powder jar signed Robj. Paris, France. Art deco woman figural wearing dress in sriking cobalt blue and yellow. Approximately 5 3/4" tall. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Similar piece listed in Kovel's 1993 page 568 for $660.00. From online galleries.com: Robj is a pseudonym for Jean Born. He created a design company in 1908 which was was active in Paris in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Jean Born died in a car accident in 1922 and the company continued under the direction of his partner, Lucien Willmetz. Robj actively encouraged Art Deco and Cubist designers and artists. And provided a showcase for their works. Robj sponsored an annual competition between 1927 and 1931 as a means of finding new designers. Robj was not a manufacturer. Antique French Porcelain Dresser Box France Scenic AH Signed GM Hand Painted vtg
Antique French Porcelain Box This hand painted porcelain box is a recent estate find. Measures approximately 5” long. 3-7/8” deep and 2-3/4” tall. Weighs one pound. The underside is marked France, and there is what seems to be a maker’s mark(AH inside a diamond) The lid’s lower left corner looks to be artist signed GM(I could be wrong about the first initial) The box looks rather vintage, but I don’t know for certain exactly how old. Though France is obviously the origin, whereat in France, I do not know. You all know so much more about this neat old item than I do. I apologize for my ignorance. The box opens. Closes and latches as well as it should. It has a nice tight closure and remains closed with no movement when you turn the box upside down. This box as a whole has a good quality feel about it- nice, solid and compact. It closes just ... morea little offset. Not a perfect lining up of the edges. Picky observation. The metal has a truly evident amount of darkening. Discoloration, loss and overall related wear. The maker related plaster material that is in the tight spots between the porcelain and metal is blackened along the edge of the lid from many years of collecting dust and dirt. This material on the lower portion is more of a dirty white. The unglazed underside has a truly evident amount of darkening and discoloration(essentially blackened. Kind of ugly) and there is also scratching(some of which is deep) dullness and overall table wear. The top inside unglazed edges also have darkening and discoloration. There is a small noticeable maker related dimple on top of the lid(on the gray under the bridge) One shorter side of the box has two similar dimples. There are a few more tinier or less evident dimples to the rest of the box. If you study the surface of this item closely with a magnifying loupe and bright light. You will find a small amount of truly insignificant blemishes here and there. The two front lower corners have crude irritation(roughness) under the gold. So it’s clearly maker related. O

That measure 5" inches round in diameter about 2-5/8" tall box with lid and bottom 3 foot. Hand painted. Decorated in an floral motif and a floral border around the box, creamy background body color. Side lid border is trimmed with burnished gold with conventional motif. Black outline drawn, raised enamel painted with beautiful colors in violet, bright greens, orange, pink and yellow. It is one of the oldest, the longest, and most widely diffused of all human arts not very common in American houses until the middle of the 18th century. A fine example of this history is"Satsuma" or"Satsuma ware" a Japanese pottery of distinctive creamy beige to dark cream color. Which was considered by American china painters or decorators in the early 1900's very suitable only for metal(such as gold) and enamel decoration. This earthenware was available in different shapes and is in fact an export product specifically designed in the early to mid 19th century to cater to the western export market at the time. Later called"American Satsuma" This is not to be confused with the 17th century or older Japanese Satsuma. These plain Satsuma(or blanks) was the choice for artists to hand paint and decorate. In excellent condition. A lovely blue and white porcelain box with metal fittings, hand signed with Sevres double L mark. Done in an interesting mottled blue with gold trim and a whte cartouche atop the lid with hand painted flowers. Gold heather type hand painted garlands around the cartouche and around the body of this charming box. Hand painted flowers inside on white glaze. Metal is silver with no mark that I can find. Clasp works well, hinge is tight. Box measures approximately 3-1/2" long, 2-1/2" wide and 1-3/4" high. Base is unglazed.
