Ridgways Clevedon Covered Dish, Pink Flowers, Royal Semi Porcelain Staffordshire
Description This is a covered vegetable or soup dish in the Clevedon pattern made by Ridgways at the Bedford Works pottery in Staffordshire. England, and more specifically Shelton. The dish is backmarked with the bow and quiver trademark and Royal Semi Porcelain above the bow/quiver. Then the pattern name- Clevedon and then England below the pattern name. This was the only Ridgway factory to use Royal Semi Porcelain as part of the pottery's mark. The Clevedon pattern is often seen in flow blue. But this is a version with soft pink flowers on brown vines and leaves. The bowl and lid are trimmed in gold. There are three small makers flaws- flea bites- inside the bowl on the bottom. Otherwise there are no chips. Cracks or apparent damage. Based on the backmark this covered dish dates to 1920 to 1952. Antique Wyoming Pattern Soap Dish Covered Dish
This listing is for a very nice antique covered dish in the Wyoming pattern. I believe this is a soap dish because of the raised rings in the bottom of the bowl. This bowl measures 5 1/4" across and stands 3 1/2" tall to the top of the handle on the lid. I do not find any chips or cracks. The bottom of the dish has some crazing and the crazing is dark. The base color is a maroon like shad and there are pictures of a courting couple on the cover and to accent that is a design painted on the painted of the dish in raised gold gilt and on the cover around each of the pictures. The inside has a rose painted in the middle of the bowl and the underside of the cover also has roses painted on it. The metal work on this dish is also gorgeous the color is consistent with what you would see in something this old. Up for auction is a totally original Hand Painted double handled covered dish with beautiful pastel flowers. This artist signed item measures 2 3/4" tall including the handles and 5 7/8" in diameter. There are no losses. A perfect example with rich pastel coloring. I cannot make out the name. But I think the first name is Mary? During the first quarter of the 20th century ladies would learn to paint china blanks and then have them fired. These either remained with the family until the line ended or were given as special gifts. There is no porcelain house stamp. No cracks. Breaks, or crazing on the lid, but there is a very tiny chip underneath the lip. No chips, cracks, breaks, but light crazing on the bottom of the dish(difficult to see unless under bright light) Slight paint smudge on green trim of lid and there appears to be a bit of black from the mark smudged on the lower piece(both are under the glaze and can be seen in the same picture) I've tried to capture everything in the pictures.
