Very Unique Dresser box. It is made of a very light material. Either ceramic,fine china, bisque or porcelain? It appears to be very old! It is hand painted pastel colors and has lovely golden trim. It is very clean on the inside, like it had never been used. It is 8 1/2 x 5 x 5 1/2. I see no chips or cracks. BEAUTIFUL piece! I don't see any maker mark. And I'm not sure of it's actual age. Antique Old Paris porcelain tobacco box with high relief bisque
Early 19th century boite a tabac by one of the various makers of what is known today as Paris Porcelain. It is a masterwork in its high relief bisque band of monkeys-a different scene on either side- which provides a sensous contrast with the glazed porcelain. It has incisions in the bottom. As is usual with this porcelain. Although it has some old repairs and cracks that are hardly noticeable, this piece looks remarkably impressive. It's a feast for the eyes. It is lidded and has roses on top and on the front and back. It's in good antique condition. Some small areas of gold are missing in the blue trim on the top. Antique German Bisque Baby in Basket Trinket Box
Trinket box measures approx. 3 1/4 inches tall. 5 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches wide. There is a baby in a basket with his finger on a button on a board. The buttons are written in German, but I think they mean Mother! Milk! Wet! Sing! The box is an off white color with gold paint accents. This came from an estate sale, so I have no idea how old it is. The inside back of the lid shows a repair- it looks like the board part broke off and was glued back. It is most noticeable inside the lid, but there is a small crack on the outside. Other than that, the piece looks to be in good condition- although it is showing some soiling and needs cleaning. Human hair was also used for stuffing pincushions and small furnishing cushions. Hair Receivers today would make wonderful jewelry storage! The Art Nouveau theme has a detailed raised white bas-relief decoration on the lid. With two individuals wearing a fairy dress and a"robin hood-like" outfit, and further adorned by bas relief floral motifs scattered around the lid and jar. The central opening for the hair receiver lid is also round and is bordered on one side by a delicate white bas-relief swirl design. Dimensions are compared to a USA quarter in the photo above. I don't if this is by that firm- the only mark is the number"327" on the bottom- but it's certainly of the age. The piece is in good condition with one small chip on the ruffle on the bottom piece in the back. Ther are no other chips and no cracks. The piece measures 4 3/4" long. 2" high and 2" at its widest. This lovely little lady is a beautiful trinket box. She stands about 8 in high. I can't tell what she is made of. Porcelain maybe but very light and fragile. Her sequined dress is faded on the top but that's the only flaw I can see. She has a tag at the bottom that says Arnartcreations from Japan.

This auction is for an unusual Victorian porcelain or bisque covered box. Although not signed. I believe it to be German made. The only markings is the number 464 stamped on the inside of the lid. There is what looks to be a dead rabbit on top the lid surrounded by foliage. Box is larger then most you find measuring 4 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" long and 4 1/2" wide. There is some minor roughness around the inside of the base and a factory flaw separation on the lid(shows worse on the inside) The photos show it well.
