Most of the rosettes have a chip and there is a little loss to decoration. There are no other chips or cracks and it still displays nicely. It is marked with the Conta& Boehme mark with 93P impressed. This piece is ca 1850 to the 1890's. It is a box, the bottom has a line of lovely flowers and 2 handles. The top is aboy with red white and blue pantaloons sitting on a grassy hill holding a kite. There is some damage to piece, on the back of the kite there is a chip at the top and there is also a chip on the edge of the box. Please refer to all pictures, they truly tell the story. Antique Victorian Fairing Trinket Box THE HUNT Rifle Horn Stag Horse Hat
For Your Consideration Today: An Antique Fairing depicting THE HUNT. This two piece Victorian Trinket Box is porcel ain and looks like a little chest with the top(which possibly had a mirror) holding things for The Hunt. A hat, a horn, rifle, sword in scabbard, etc. The front has a horse head and the mirro r frame is a Stag with Antlers. The mirror holder has a hairline crack and some of the antler points are broken off. You can see these flaws in photo# 7. No marked with a maker the inside of the lid has an etched 2946 and the base has a 101. The mirror is intact but does have a blemish which you can see in the photo# 3. Everything is trimmed in gold. It measures 4 1/4" tall and is 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" and the inside is very clean. This Fairing was in the inventory of my Uncle Billy's Antique shop in SW Michigan when it closed ... morein 1968. Antique Fairing Pug Dog Ceramic Box Match Safe Victorian Vintage Trinket
This is an antique Fairing match safe with a pug dog figurine on the lid. There are diamond shapes on the 4 corners in blue. And gold flecks over the surface of both top and bottom. It does not show in the picture, but on the inside of the top, there are ridges to be used to strike matches. On the bottom of the base are the numbers 3508 and underneath that, 141. There are no cracks, chips or crazing that I can see. This item stands about 3 1/2 inches tall. This is perfect for any collector of match safes or Fairing ware. I accept PayPal only. Purchased last week at an estate sale is this darling little porcelain FAIRING LIDDED BOX of"LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD" The red paint has flaked off the figure as well as her basket. Her face is still lovely. The wolf looks to be in excellent condition. It appears to me that the lid does not fit well over the bottom but this is the first fairing I have ever had so I am not sure of what quality to expect of items that were given away a the early fairs in Germany. I was told this one is from England and a very early one because of the incised numbers on the bottom. I will have to let you be the judge of the age and country of origin. Antique porcelain fairing/trinket box. It stands 3 1/4" tall. It has a little girl holding a doll in her arm with a goose standing on the side. The neck on the goose has been broken long ago and been glued. See picture. The coloring is nice. The cover has raised flowers around the edge. Some of the gold has worn away. Large 19th Century German Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box w/ Mirror! This wonderful German fairing trinket box is in the form of a young woman with dark hair admiring herself in a mirror atop her dresser. It has nice detail and is highlighted with gold gilt. It appears to have the original mirror and has an incised mark on the underside. It dates from the 19th Century and measures approximately 8 + 5/8 inches tall overall to the top of the mirror by 5 + ¾ inches across at its widest by 5 inches across the bottom. Two chips inside lid and a firing crack in bottom, left in uncleaned condition Uncommon to find a fairing with the mirror intact This Conta& Boehme fairing or trinket box comes from my grandmother's estate(1891- 1961) A handwritten note says that she purchased this trinket box from her cousin for $5 in 1945. The cousin had obtained the fairing from her aunt. That. Along with the incised mark of an enclosed shield and an arm holding a sword. Suggests that the date of manufacture ... moreis the second half of the 19th century. It was likely made before 1890 when the McKinley Tariff act required foreign goods be marked with country of origin. Children atop fairings seem to have been a fairly common theme for Conta& Boehme. However. We were unable to find another one like this which depicts a little girl washing an article of clothing in a tub. We believe the mirror is original. It shows a few signs of age yet the mirrors are so often missing from these. We didn't attempt to clean the piece. Our inspection revealed a firing glaze inside the bottom of the box. Wear to the gold and enamel, and two old chips underneath the lid that aren't otherwise visible. This would be a nice and uncommon addition to a collection of Victorian fairings. This is a charming Victorian China fairing trinket box that depicts a fancy dresser and mirror with an animal(sheep? in a basket and a lady figure on one side. The other figure is missing. This fairing has nice details and guilding. It has the incised 4 digit number on the bottom of the top piece(1324) indicating that it was made by Conta& Boehme. Germany circa 1840's. The piece is 4 1/4" tall and 3" wide and 1 1/2" deep. Unfortunately. One figure has been broken and is missing and there is one chip in the ruffle that run around the dresser. The piece looks like there was something where the mirror would be.

This is an authentic mid 19th century porcelain Trinket Box. They were often referred to as"Fairings" because they were made. In Germany, for the English Fairs in the mid 1800s. This little box, in the form of a bureau with a mirror frame on the lid has additional interest on the lid in the form of a German style helmet, a long gun, pistol and sword. These items suggest that it may have been intended as a gentleman's trinket box. The box measures about 4" by 3" and 4 1/2" to the top of the mirror frame. Rarely are these boxes found without damage but this one is in perfect condition with no damage or restoration.

An antique porcelain fairing trinket box or dresser box by German company Conta Boehme. Titled"A Little Turk" and featuring a little boy with a Turkish fez, reclining against some cushions and smoking a hookah. Conta Boehme produced a series of these boxes with different themes but easily discernible general pattern. The original seal. Item number as well as a very smudged"Made in Germany" is under the lid. Item is in great condition for its age- I could find a single hairline on the right side in the front(as seen in photos) and no other chippings or breakage. General age wear as expected and the colors as well as the gold gilt is faded in spots. Age is presumably late 1800s. Early 1900s. Trinket box weighs 8.3 oz. Early 1900s Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box w Lid - Bisque Baby Tucked Into Cradle
Sweet little porcelain trinket box measures 3 1/2" tall x 5" long and is in good-but-not-perfect. Pre-owned condition. The right front rocker runner and the inside rim of the lid is broken, portions of the gold painted trim have been worn off and blue painted stripes on the blanket have been worn off, leaving only traces, all visible in the photos. The majority of the box is glazed porcelain but the baby and blanket are unglazed bisque. No visible manufacturer's mark. Feel free to contact with questions. Charming little porcelain trinket box stands 4 3/4" tall and is in good. Pre-owned condition. Tiny chips around the rim of the kitten's bowl and a large portion of the gold painted trim has been worn off. No visible manufacturer's mark but there is a diamond shaped patch of old adhesive on the bottom where it appears there used to be a tag or label. Feel free to contact with questions. REMARKABLE Antique Vtg 1850's FAIRING PORCELAIN Trinket Box HUNTING HOUND & HORN
Antique fairing porcelain trinket box featuring a regal hunting hound with horn lounging upon a green pillow from the mid 1800's. Measures just 2.5" tall and 2.5" long. Found inside the box is a note from the original family: Brought from Norway in early 1870 by Per Blom family. Grand parents of Ralph Blohm Sr. Box is in very good condition for its age. This fairing is probably from the mid-1800s and depicts Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf. The piece is about 4-3/8" tall. 3" wide and 1-3/4" deep. It has paint loss to the red cape and wolf, typical since these items were painted over the glaze. The box(base) also has a glued repair with several repaired cracks showing, but it appears to have been put together very well and is stable. This does not show with the lid in place. Antique Victorian Bisque Fairing Cradle/Basket with Baby Trinket Box Wonderful and rare. Bisque trinket box with gold trim and tiny specks of gold on the bedding. This Victorian Trinket Boxes box measures approximately 3 1/2 inches tall and 4 3/4 3 inches wide. Great condition.
