Round, hinged, cobalt blue, gold trim, the lid has transferware decoration of an 18th c. courting couple, measuring 3" in diameter x 2-1/2" high, marked CZECHOSLOVAKIA in a semi circle on the bottom, condition: no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs, the metal hinge& mounting is age darkened and the hinge a little wobbly, so the lid sits slightly askew, sold as is, from a local estate. Vtg Rare Large Pale Pink Jewelry Trinket Box Courting Couple Rose Gold Ornament
A fine quality hand painted porcelain jewelry box dates to the 1950-1957. It has a pale pink color. With smooth satin finish and beveled lid which has a large romantic"courting scene" on the lid. The couple is framed in gold round circle with raised dots. Small white roses with green leaves. Around the lid edge has a gold trim. The same scene. But small, appears on the front and back. The sides have a hand painted gold leaves ornaments. The interior has white glazed porcelain. And roses bouquet on the bottom(check pic.4) The box has a very rich decoration all around. No wear on the scene or on the gold. No wear on the silk finish. Measures 7.5" in length, 4.75" tall, 6.5" wide. It has an old blue beehive mark. Probably Continental. Please, check the last picture.
