Remarkable Paul Jean Milet Sevres porcelain box. This box has been coated with a dark green drip glaze that contrasts beautifully with the brass border. Latch and garlanded rope and wreath decorations on the sides. The top also features a rectangular flower metal applique. The bottom is signed with the"MP Sevres" mark, which was used from 1911 until 1930. The box is in very good condition. No chips. Cracks or crazing, although there is some light wear associated with age. Hinge and latch are both in excellent working condition. The box stands 3.5" tall and measures about 9" wide. Offered here 19c very large size Hand painted Scenic and Gold encrusted Jewelry Box in popular Sevres CELESTE background. This is my 1st time when I see this size Porcelain box! It has four different scene of Cherubs and four raised head sculptures for each corner. The lid has scene of 3 lady's in the bedroom. heavy Gold encrusted all over. I don't see any damages. but what I see is the hinges and the"lock" in-front were professionally welded to reinforce the strength. I don't see that they were broken. But probably- detached. For your consideration is this Beautiful Antique Porcelain in Sevres' Style Jewelry Box. It has a lovely scalloped edge with a pale yellow background. The floral designs are in beautiful condition with the largest on the cover. A hanging basket of flowers adorned by a purple bow. The only flaw in this piece is the crack which runs from the top right side of the lid to the bottom right side. It is a clean crack and can be repaired. Other than that, this jewelry box is truly exquisite. The dots of white paint are raised in a harlequin pattern, with raised gold hand painted scroll work. The hinge is original and in working order with no dents or bends. The box is 5 6/8" in diameter and 1 1/4" deep. Circa 1920. Napoleon III French Sevres Enamel Kiln-fired Gilt Jewelry Box Casket
A superb antique French Napoleon III era enamel and gilt jewelry casket. Adorned with five enamel on copper panels of a gorgeous Sevres'Celeste' blue accented by a jeweled border of raised white enamel dots and gilt accents. Each panel is centered by a painted floral cluster of gorgeous flowers. Stunning against the vibrant blue background. Such vibrant colors and amazing detail is quite difficult to achieve in the art of fire-kiln enamel on copper. Th e enameling was likely by one of the masters of Sevres who worked with enamels. Similar to Bresson enamels with raised jeweled dots and the quality of Limoges enamels. The hinged lid opens to reveal a padded tufted and tucked silk lined interior. This is a large& rare example being aprox 7 3/4 inches long. I would consider this piece to be in very nice antique condition for its ... moreage. There is one white dot gone& a small chip in enamel by top of lock( really not that bad. Small see photos. Cloth lining on bottom has been cut a way, most likely due to age& wear. In addition, lid panel sits down a bit from frame& back left leg sits up about a 1/8-1/4 of a inch, so there is a rock. I would not try to adjust legs& just leave it as is. You would not want to crack a panel trying to adjust. As you can see this is a fine and rare antique that is very sought after. Again, the size makes it extra special. Antique Sevres Jewelry Box - Rare and collectable
This is a Sevres Jewel Box with a hinged lid decorated with hand painted Cherubs. Bronze or brass relief feet in the shape of a swan with long neck folded down and wings folded back. The top of the box is adorned with a metallic figure of a cherub with a book. This may be gold plated or a very realistic gold color. There are 4 roses that also appear to be metallic recessed into the surface of the lid. The lid and the top of the main box are rimmed with an engraved metal all around. The front of the lower metal rim is engraved with the name'Alph Giroux d Cie a Paris' The inside of the box is lined with a velvet fabric. This box once belonged to Lord Hood of London. England. It has been in my wives family for about 75 years. The bottom marking is the interlocking L's used as a trademark by Sevres. The overall color is blue with ... moregold trim. There are red roses. And pink cherubs, with green foliage around the roses. The box weighs 3 lb 4 OZ and is 6-1/2 inches high by 7 in long by 5 inches deep(front to back) Condition: The velvet inside the box is worn and discolored. There are several cracks in the lid. Dresser Box with Hallmarking on the bottom[please see the picture] The embellishing and coloring on the box is beautiful. It has gold colored gilding all the way around it with a bronze/brass gilding all the way around the bottom and lid. It has a bronze/brass flower motif at the top. refer to pictures) The box appears to be hand-painted and is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. The box is about 5" in diameter without the lid and a little over with the lid on. With the lid on it is about 2.5"tall. This is an amazing buy and find! It comes from a smoke free home. Antique Sevres Trinket Box. Beautiful Cobalt Flow Blue Jewelry Box. 18th 1758?
This is a very pretty trinket box in a cobalt blue with brass hinges and is hand painted by Sevres Porcelain Factory. Sevres France Some of blue flows through some of the base along the rim. The box seems to have been made in 1758 according to the mark on bottom. Its approximatly 3" in dia. by 2-1/4" tall. Condition: The hing is missing a little pin. The hinge otherwise has no damage. The ring around the lid is loose. There are two ting chips of the gilt on the top of lid. and a small rub mark where the clasp of the ring would snap to the base. Other wise this is very beautiful.
