Antique Old Chinese Porcelain Pottery Vase Lamp on a Carved Wood Base Vintage
A nice old oriental ceramic vase converted into a lamp a long time ago. The lamp has an adjustable socket rod and goes from about 1 foot 8 inches high to 2 feet in height. The lamp is 4.6 inches wide at the wooden base. The ceramic portion of this lamp is 11 inches tall. There is some normal wear from age and use and some chips to the carved wooden lamp base.

Up for auction* No reserve* This Chinese Antique Yixing( Buccaro) pottery teapot signed. Yixing(Buccaro) pottery Yixing County. In the southern part of Jiangsu Province, has been the center of Chinese teapot production since the Song Dynasty(960-1279) High quality Yixing clay comes from along the banks of Lake Tai near Nanjing. Refined and fired to a high temperature it produces a slightly absorbent pottery highly regarded by tea lovers. A good Yixing teapot should pour evenly from the pot, have a porcelanious ring to it when struck, a very snug fitting lid which if the lid has a hole will stop pouring when you put your finger over it. Since the clay will absorb some of the flavor of the tea and thus enhance the flavor, it is important to drink only one kind of tea out of it. If the tea pot has any age to it, it should have a distinct residue ... moreof old tea inside. The clay used for Yixing pottery is called Zisha(Purple clay" despite the fact that it is not always purple in color neither unfired or fired. Two Wonderful Antique Oriental Chinese Pottery Mud Men Figures.
I have for auction two wonderful antique Oriental Chinese pottery mud men figures. They have no makers marks so I can't be sure of the exact age or origin but believe them to be genuine antique Chinese figures due to the style and design. They have been hand crafted from clay sitting down wearing long flowing robes and each figure looks to be holding some kind of drinking vessel. They may be a teacher and student as one has a small table set behind him with a couple of books on the top and is wearing an important looking hat with a long flowing beard. The other has a top knot and a long black mustache. Both figures are in very good condition with no chips, marks or cracks but they both have a small patch of glaze missing from the end of one shoe- please see photo's. This probably hails from the late 1800s or so; certainly pre-McKinley Tariff Act(1891) There are markings on the underside of the base. One looks like the number 3, and the other is a Chinese character. The piece has a caramel-colored glazed base, and is done in greens, with the natural, cream-colored clay adding the third color. From my mother's estate. Very finely done—a wonderful addition to any decor! Unsure of exact age or maker. No damage anywhere that I can see. I couldnt tell you really.as early Chinese pottery is not really my field. I can see it is rough on the underside and has a crude foot rim. with firing cracks on the glaze. as well as having a firing CRACK on the bowl rim as well. and another one at the other side which have been made during the process of manufacture. The bowl is decorated in flowers or devices not sure in the inside and outside. this could mean something then again it may only be scribble. Antique Chinese Pottery Base for Buddha or other Statue Dragons Animals Pearls
This is a very interesting antique Chinese pedestal possibly for a religious figure. It has an old paper label with one symbol on the back. It has images of animals chasing pearls in a tan panel on the front. And has dragons in upper blue panel. The pedestal was potted in a somewhat misshapened way. The top is actually at an angle, not perfectly horizontal, and the bottom rim on the front is bent in from when it was potted. Has various chips. Has a good deal of genuine age to it, but I do not know its exact age or history. It is about 15 cm tall, about 18.5 cm wide at the top and and about 16 cm deep at the top.
