Nice 19th century fairing box/inkwell that I believe is by Conta Boehme or Staffordshire. Looks like a trinket box. But has 2 removable wells/cups inside so is an inkwell. Still has original inserts and measures about 3" long and is about 2 7/8" tall. Unmarked. Has a chip to her hand, and a chip at the end by her feet, but it is practically insvisible. These items suggest that it may have been intended as a gentleman's trinket box. The box measures about 4" by 3" and 4 1/2" to the top of the mirror frame. The box is made of fine porcelain, hand painted with floral motif, gilt wording, Matches' on the front side. A figural girl with cat is on the top lid. Antique Porcelain FAIRING Trinket Box CUPID On Chair Bow & Arrows Mirror Putti
This is a bisque porcelain fairing trinket box. It is a cupid figure with his bow and arrows reclining on a cushioned chair with a mirrored back. This cutie putti seems to be looking at himself in the mirror. There are no markings on the trinket box and it looks to be something German made. There are no chips or cracks. On the back there is a small hairline that shows on the back and even less on the front going from the edge to the side of the mirror. It is small and insignificant. The mirror looks original but seems to be recently taped back into place. It is about 5" tall and 4 1/2" wide. Quite a cute and fancy piece of antique bisque porcelain fairing collectible. It features a bird on the lid that kind of looks like an eagle on top of a round spherical shaped dish that looks like the earth or a planet. It is unmarked and measures 3 ¼” tall and 2 ¼” wide. Antique Conta & Boehme German Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box Child w/ Cat Kitten
This porcelain trinket box measures approximately 3 1/4" tall. 1 1/2" wide, and 2 3/4 inches long. It is marked under the lid with 144, the shield mark, and 188. This was made by Conta& Boehme of Germany and would have been won or purchased at a fair probably in the late 1800's. The color and gold gilt are in very good shape. Two of the applied flowers have chips, one in the front is very small, and one in the back has a larger chip. There is one very small line on the back of the box that appears to be under the glaze. It looks like the porcelain separated a little during production and is not too noticeable. There is a little bit of crazing, but overall this piece looks quite good.
