Extremely well made, rich texture, and gorgeous design. ... moreIt measures approx 2'10" x 6 feet(34 x 72 inches) Not including the 2.5 inch fringe on either side. Weighs almost 5 lbs. Photos taken outside in cloudy afternoon light. Looks fabulous! A bit of wear. A few spots, and some of the blue wool rags shows small holes(2nd last photo) No repairs. There are loose black threads throughout, used to sew the rags into strips for weaving. There are less on the side that seems to have been up; likely the threads came off through use. But the rug shows little use- looks wonderful! This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning. That attic held many other long-forgotten antique hooked and rag rugs. What we have up for your consideration is a ADORABLE little handpainted porcelain or ceramic Oriental round lidded box. I'm NOT sure what is was really used for but I would assume for powder or snuff or anything small because it measures approximately 2 1/4" across by 7/8" thick. It is in EXCELLENT condition with NO chips or cracks. It is signed on the bottom. This is a very lovely antique Sevres French Porcelain Box. The details on the Sevres piece is very amazing and very fine. On the top of the box there is a very lovely scene of a man and a woman who are in love. The woman is holding the man with her arms around his shoulders. While the man is looking at her. Beside them is a baby sheep. And there are gorgeous flowers and trees surrounding them. Then on the right of them you can see a pond and there home, it is a very lovely scene. The box is signed as you can see near the sheep, just a bit to the right you see the signature E. Frocef I believe. The box is covered with all sorts of magnificent gold works with fine designs and details. Then on the bottom of the box you see the Sevres hallmark and France on the bottom of it. Antique 19 th Century Porcelain Lidded Box Beautiful lidded box with pink and purple flowers a green trim and gilded accents. This was purchased in the 60s at an antique store in Massachusetts. I would say it is in good condition however there has been a repair(please see hairline crack in photos) which I didn’t notice until I ran my fingers over it. There is also a small crack in the foot(1/4” long) see 3 rd photo. Neither of these things are noticeable or take away from the beauty of the piece. I always closely inspect everything and list all flaws that I can see. Could also use a little cleaning. All in all a very pretty dresser box. The flowers on the lid are pink and white with grey leaves. The handle and edge have gold leaf remnants. The lid has a chip as depicted in the photos. The few"Brush Boxes" I have found are described as for tooth brushes and also for hair brushes. One seller indicates"Victorian Women used this type of box on their dressers or vanities to hide common hair styling items from sight; the shelving on the interior allowed loose hair to fall to the bottom. More often I see them described for holding tooth brushes. The hand crafted racks/shelves inside this box are actually shaped like a moustache or lips! The lid is 8 1/2" by 4" ... moreat its widest points. There are no air holes in the lid like I see in other boxes. There are no evident marks on the bottom. I also have a Brush Box in blue listed. This wonderful German fairing trinket box is in the form of a young woman with dark hair admiring herself in a mirror atop her dresser. It has nice detail and is highlighted with gold gilt. It appears to have the original mirror and has an incised mark on the underside. It dates from the 19th Century and measures approximately 8 + 5/8 inches tall overall to the top of the mirror by 5 + ¾ inches across at its widest by 5 inches across the bottom. It is in excellent condition. We find no chips or cracks, just one small spot of paint loss along the edge of the mirror frame, as can be seen in the photos. WE USE DAYLIGHT BULBS WHEN PHOTOGRAPHING. However it was Edme's son, Emile, who expanded the company to include reproduction of eighteenth-century English enamels. The Samson Edme et Cie Company continued to produce porcelain and pottery until 1969. The saleroom models were sold in 1979 by Christie's of London. Description This is a lovely 19th century antique Samson French enamel patch trinket box that measures 2.25" x 1.5. The design style is enamel on copper with a hinged lid and a beautiful green base and slightly domed lid. The lid has painted purple doves and a motto which reads. Amans Fidelle. I believe the translation is loving faithfully. However. I am not 100% sure of the translation. The lug on the back hinge and ribbed banding on the metal hinge. As well as the loose hand-painted nature of the lid identify this box as a nineteenth century creation. A stunning antique late 18th Century to early 19th Century Italian Capodimonte enamel and gilt porcelain decorated Covered Dresser Box. The box has raised figures and hand painted of a Greek Mythology scene of the 12 Gods of Mount Olympus. The box is in beautiful condition no chips. Cracks or repairs with the art work fully intact and very vibrant with the exception of the gold gilt around the cover edges. The box measures 4 1/2"x 3 1/2"x 3" tall including lid and has the blue bottom stamp, this is a rare piece of Italian Capodimionte Porcelain Art and even rarer in this condition. An Adorable 19th Century Fairing Trinket Box featuring a toddler crawling atop a fireplace m antle. This porcelain box. Most likely German, is missing its mirror(we presume) and most of its cold paint and gilding, but it's still quite impressive. Especially with those griffins! It measures 4" x 2.5" x 2.25" The inside of the lid is marked 2909. There are no chips but there is a firing crack at the back left corner visible in the photo. Thanks for visiting.

These were souvenirs of country fairs during the 19th century and while the modeling is often crude. They are charming and often humorous. Most were made in Germany. This fairing depicts a black& white cat perched on the roof of a doghouse where a dog is chained. He is looking upward. Not much liking the taunt. The box is about 3-3/8" tall, 2-1/2" wide and 4" long. It has a very modest amount of paint loss. There are two holes in the doghouse roof where there must have been objects at one time. For sale: A Antique 19th Century Staffordshire Porcelain Fairing Trinket Box Man's Dresser. The piece is made out of porcelain with painted highlights. Stands about 4 inches tall to the very top by about 2 3/4 inches wide. Figure is in the design of a man's dresser with accessories on the top. There is wear to the paint. Victorian 19th Century Porcelain China Fairing Figuirine Man Reclining Pin Box
Here is a wonderful little porcelain fairing box. Standing about 2 1/4 inches tall. This features a well fed gentlemen siting on a chaise or sofa. There is some gold gilding on his cuffs and hems, and gold luster glaze on his pants. The top lifts off to reveal the box for pins or other small items. There are some incised numbers on the base, and a decorators mark in black. There are some losses to the finish as shown, but no chips, cracks repairs or other damage.
