Antique Fairing Pug Dog Ceramic Box Match Safe Victorian Vintage Trinket
This is an antique Fairing match safe with a pug dog figurine on the lid. There are diamond shapes on the 4 corners in blue. And gold flecks over the surface of both top and bottom. It does not show in the picture, but on the inside of the top, there are ridges to be used to strike matches. On the bottom of the base are the numbers 3508 and underneath that, 141. There are no cracks, chips or crazing that I can see. This item stands about 3 1/2 inches tall. This is perfect for any collector of match safes or Fairing ware. I accept PayPal only. Victorian China Fairing Trinket Box, Dresser w/Mirror and Figures, 19th c (1720)
This is a charming Victorian China fairing trinket box that depicts a fancy dresser and mirror with an animal(sheep? in a basket and a lady figure on one side. The other figure is missing. This fairing has nice details and guilding. It has the incised 4 digit number on the bottom of the top piece(1324) indicating that it was made by Conta& Boehme. Germany circa 1840's. The piece is 4 1/4" tall and 3" wide and 1 1/2" deep. Unfortunately. One figure has been broken and is missing and there is one chip in the ruffle that run around the dresser. The piece looks like there was something where the mirror would be.

This sweet cherub and his box measure 2 7/8's inches long by 1 3/4 inch wide by 2 7/8's inches tall. Antique Victorian Fairing Pin Or Trinket Oval Box With Bishop's Miter And Cross
On auction we have a ceramic antique pin or trinket box. The base has raised leaves and scrolls while the lid has a Bishop's miter. Cross and scepter. The lid has small flowers around the edges. The box measures 2 3/4" wide, 2" deep and 2 1/2" tall to the top of the hat. It has no maker's mark. My antique dealer tells me this was probably made in Germany in the late 1800's. He says this is a fairing. Made for the English Victorian fairs as either a prize to win or a souvenir to purchase. We consider this to be in very good condition for it's age and use. The gold gilt trim on the miter is worn and there are small chips. Mostly on the flower trim. A very strange repair has been done on the cross. The base has no flaws. Please view my photographs for more description. This has been in my friend's family for ... moregenerations. But we don't know more about it's history. Germany. The box is 2 7/8" high and 2 3/4" by 2" The bottom has an embossed vine and leaves pattern and the lid features a train engine with small rosette flowers. Only a couple of the rosettes have some minor chips and there is a little loss to decoration. There are no other chips or cracks and it still displays nicely. This does not have the Conta& Boehme mark but has been attributed to this company based on the base design. This piece is ca 1850 to the 1890's. Victorian 19th Century Porcelain China Fairing Figuirine Man Reclining Pin Box
Here is a wonderful little porcelain fairing box. Standing about 2 1/4 inches tall. This features a well fed gentlemen siting on a chaise or sofa. There is some gold gilding on his cuffs and hems, and gold luster glaze on his pants. The top lifts off to reveal the box for pins or other small items. There are some incised numbers on the base, and a decorators mark in black. There are some losses to the finish as shown, but no chips, cracks repairs or other damage.
