18th. Century English enamel snuff box. Probably battersea. This snuff box has three scenes please view photos as description. The scenes are transfer. Dimension of this box are height 1 1/4" width 2 1/2" depth 1 5/8" Condition of the box is good for its age. The hinge works fine and the lid closes tight. There is fracturing of the enamel. A Bilston or Battersea King Charles Spaniel enamel Bonbonniere, Circa 1780
Here is an extremely rare circa 1780 Bilston enamel bonbonniere of a red and white King Charles on a pink cushion. The bottom is painted with a lovely spray of flowers. The approximate dimensions are slightly over 2 inches by 2 inches and almost 1 and 1/2 inches tall. To my knowledge it is in excellent unrepaired condition. There is the tiniest of hairline cracks on the inside lid but you cant even feel it with your fingernail. The oval shaped box measures approximately 5" long. 3 1/2" wide, and 3" tall. It is made of blue porcelain and features a brass etched edging, hinge, and clasp. A superb antique French Napoleon III era enamel and gilt jewelry casket. Adorned with five enamel on copper panels of a gorgeous Sevres'Celeste' blue accented by a jeweled border of raised white enamel dots and gilt accents. Each panel is centered by a painted floral cluster of gorgeous flowers. Stunning against the vibrant blue background. Such vibrant colors and amazing detail is quite difficult to achieve in the art of fire-kiln enamel on copper. Th e enameling was likely by one of the masters of Sevres who worked with enamels. Similar to Bresson enamels with raised jeweled dots and the quality of Limoges enamels. The hinged lid opens to reveal a padded tufted and tucked silk lined interior. The underside is a farm setting with the windmill in the background. There is rub area to the bottom from"Centuries" of sitting on a surface for use and show. I was told by a jeweler that this piece is French and dates to 1732-1738. Porcelain container small with hand painted enamel
Small 3 1/2 inch porcelain container box. Beautifully colored and decorated. I am not sure who the maker is as it is not marked but it has a faberge look. Box is all hand colored enameled with beautiful coloring. A cobalt blue and blue turquoise background. It looks quite regal. You might know more. All outline trim is done in bright gold gilt. Antique Battersea Bilston Enamel Patch Box Scarborough Cliff Bridge c. 1830
This is a rare Battersea Bilston box with the title“Scarboro Cliff Bridge” I tried a Google search but came up with no other example so it must be rare. It has some fine hairline cracks on the top and bottom. See the photos. There is some residue on the bottom from a sticker. The box is delicate and I’m afraid to scrub at it. Antique Battersea Bilston Enamel Patch Box The Iron Bridge c. 1800 Coalbrookdale
This is a rare Battersea Bilston patch box inscribed“ A Present from the Iron Bridge” The Iron Bridge in Shropshire England was the first arch bridge made from cast iron. The bridge was opened in 1781 so the box must be sometime after that date. This box must be very rare as a Google search does not find another like it. It measures 1 5/8” x 1 3/8” x 7/8” tall. Shaped kind of like an apple with the stem on top. It is white decorated with flowers, very colorful& pretty. It measures about 1" x 1" weighs about 1 ounce. Great condition, no chips, cracks etc. It does need a cleaning, I will let the new owner do that. From the estate sale of my uncle.
