Old Antique Oval shaped Pill Box- Size is alittle over 2 inches long. Width is almost 1.3 inches. Depth is 3/4 inch. Light baby blue color with intricate rings of doted white red black Enamel and embossed hand paint. There is some gold glit in this as well. Brass rim and hinge. This box is from England circa early 1800's. Condition has a few hairline cracks in enamel and a few flea chips on the top- which is amazing considering the textured top is very delicate. Avery nice. Small and clean English enamel on copper patch box circa 1790(35 x 28mm) In virtually mint condition, just about the way it came from the store in 1790. The only blemishes are two very minor original firing marks. If you've ever longed for the"perfect" condition box- this is it. HOWEVER, there's one problem.it doesn't open.at least, I haven't been able to open it. You may do better than I, but I won't force it. It came to me in a large trade, from a very good collection, and that's the way I'm selling it. I would expect the inside to be as perfect as the outside. Here's a challenge for you. Good luck! This auction is for a vintage English enamel Battersea box. It's about 1 1/2 inches long. 1 1/4 inches wide, and 1 inch high. The lid has white doves and hearts on a cobalt blue background, and the words, A Present From Birmingham. THe words are worn but definitely there. Please use the zoom feature to look closely. English Battersea blue enamel Adam Snuff box, 18th century!
I bought this lovely snuff box in London in the 1970s. And it has been the glory of my collection: of course I love the Robert Adam style, and this has it all! It is absolutely period Battersea, from probably the 1770s. Garlands of leaves and flowers, a neoclassical paterae, and"The Gift of a Friend" on the lid. The interior mirror is intact, with the expected spotting of almost 250 years. The condition is excellent, with just the usual wear for such an old piece. The ground color is a gorgeous soft blue. Please note that the black marks on the bottom in the photos are the residue from an old sticker, I neglected to wash it off, plus I left the dealer's sticker on. It measures approx 1 3/4 inches across, and stands just shy of an inch high. I am downsizing and sold the vitrine my boxes lived in, so they must go, sadly.
