Offered for sale is a fine porcelain box fashioned in the form of a couple lying in bed after the originals produced by Chantilly in the 18th century. This particular box was created by Edme Samson of Paris in the late 19th century early 20th century. It measures 3-1/2 inches by 2-1/4 inches and stands almost 2 inches tall. The lid features polychrome enamels of the couple in bed with a flowered bedcover. Underneath is a vignette of flowers. In the interior of the box are two insects and the Chantilly horn mark.
