A beautiful maiden sits atop two decorative tasseled pillows, and she is helping Cupid as he is struggling to climb up next to her. Cupid's bow and arrows are on the ground at their feet, and the woman holds one golden arrow in her hand. The figure is a nice large size measuring 8 1/2" tall by 7" wide. And it is in excellent condition aside from arrow has tip chip and a few tiny nicks to flower petals/leaves, very minor. Exquisite Antique Victorian Italy Putti Cherub Intricate Inlay Fruit Woods Book Shelf. The inlaid portions of the book ends are in good condition with no missing pieces visible. The shelf has splitting visible on both sides which is not unusual for its age. One of the Book Ends has bad hinge hardware which needs to be replaced.The corresponding hardware mate on the shelf is in need of replacement as well. The Pins for the hardware hinges are missing but can be replaced making functional the folding-in feature of the Book Ends. This is a hand tooled. Bench made piece of wonderful wood work with a 1/2" Bevel on the Book End edges. The new hardware will make this decorative piece a spectacular buy. It is also a delicate antique that was made in Paris between 1860 and 1870. Both pieces are made of high-quality solid silver and weigh 2700 grams in all. The set is composed of the classical water jug and basin, both signed and marked and lovely-looking. The set has Emile Hugo’s hallmark; he was a famous French silversmith who worked in Paris in the second half of the 19th century and owned an atelier in the Rue des Quatre-Files. The silver works of this atelier stand out because of their quality and elegance. The set is in perfect condition. And as well as the hallmarks that testify for the silver’s quality we can also see the maker’s mark: a stamp ... morewith the words E. HUGO. The water jug is especially attractive, with a stylish design and a fine handle. This piece is modeled in the shape of a cherub putti who is holding a volute on top of his head; the putti arches his body in a graceful way. The jug’s body is convex and bears four embossed medals also depicting couples of cherubs or angels in relaxed poses. The rest of the jug’s surface boasts subtle engravings that match the basin’s decoration. The basin has a deep design with circular mouth. The edge is decorated with a fringe of volutes and eight equidistant non-engraved medals. From each medal a couple of parallel lines come out and all of them meet at the bottom. Where a classical circular fringe surrounds an anagram with two elegant initials: MU. The basin’s inner surface is decorated with subtle engravings in the shape of four-dot groups. The piece is elegant and makes a delicious contrast with the baroque dynamism of the beautiful water jug. If we turn the basin upside down we will see three hallmarks, two of them with the silversmith’s name and another used in France between 1837 and 1873 for all the solid silver items destined for export. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ORNATE CAST IRON ANDIRONS FIGURAL CHERUB PUTTI W/FLOWERS
Pair of 19th century cast iron figural andirons of a draped cherub balancing a basket of flowers on his head. The figure measures 13 1/2" tall and 7" wide. The support is 17" long. From a local estate, the cast iron figures have been painted gold. The iron surface of the figures is pitted- these may have been outdoors for a long time. The figures are posed to look like they each have one arm behind their back. One figure was broken across the chest and was later repaired. The support on the back of one andiron is permanently attached, probably by a blacksmith. Someone went to a lot of trouble to save these andirons! Even with the flaws, I think they are very attractive and would enhance a room with a touch of Victorian Neo-Classicism. A nice ebayer emailed us that they are probably English. Putti& Marble CLOCK Garniture Set Fresh from a very fine estate we are pleased to offer this French Louis XVI-style gilt bronze and marble figural mantel clock and urn garniture set. Fine french movement by S. Marti& Cie. Medalle d' Argent in round body set in a chariot drawn by two goats and adorned by Bacchic cherub,putti. Mounted on a rectangular marble base with acanthus edging and paw feet. The two matching covered urns are festooned with garlands and ribbons and have finely detailed mythical fauns playing instruments on each side. One urn is slightly crooked because there is a ring that the body of the urn rests on that is detached slightly from the shaft. RARE AND BEAUTIFUL CANTAGALLI ITALIAN FAIENCE(TIN-GLAZED) FOOTED BOWL ~ Winged cherubs(putti) on each side ~ ~ Ram's head feet ~ ~ 13 inches long including handles ~ ~ 8 inches wide at widest point ~ ~ 4 1/2 inches in height ~ This superior majolica piece was hand-crafted at the Italian Cantagalli factory sometime between 1900 and 1925. It is oval in shape and measures a pproximately 13x8 inches. It stands 4 1/2 inches high. On four feet that are shaped like ram's heads. It boasts a serpentine rim and is hand-painted in various shades of blue. The inside of the bowl bears an image of an Italian villa, while the outside bears a winged cherub flying on each side. The craftsmanship of the handles is superb, and as you can see by the photos, the handles were applied SEPARATELY to the bowl using slip before the piece was fired. According to wor ld-renown Italian pottery expert Walter Del Pellegrin o. This identifies a piece of Cantagalli pottery as genuine. A reproduction piece is all poured from one mold, and the handles will look like they are one piece with the bowl. Clearly, this is not the case here! In fact, I contacted Del Pel l egrino via his forum and asked him to look at photos of this bowl to make sure it was a g en uine Cantagalli piece. After examining the ph otos. He concluded that it is definitely"the real thing. The bottom of the piece bears the famous cockerel mark plus what appe ars to be the number 7. CONDITION: This bowl is in very good condition. Very collectible. Von Schierholz. Porcelain candle holders signed Von Schierholz, made in Dresden Germany. Conditions is wonderful, there are no chips,dings or repairs. Elegant candlesticks stand 10 1/4" high and 4 3/4" across the bottom of the base. Gold trim rococo style bases are adorned withe hand sculpted multi- colored porcelain flowers. Each candle holder has a Putti figure with a sash. Early 1900's. The mark is partially missing, but I assure they are authentic Von Schierholz. This lovely flue cover measures about 7 3/4" in diameter and appears to feature a woman and a child. Possibly a cherub type figure although he has no wings. The cover appears to be in fair condition for its age. It does show wear and discoloration. The top of the metal frame is slightly bent and slightly loose, but it hangs and displays nicely. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It was made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll ... moredo my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. Fabulous Pair Hollywood Regency Putti Cherub Angel Table Lamps Mid Century
For your consideration we are offering this fabulous pair of Hollywoood Regency table lamps. Each lamp features a metal Cherub standing on a crystal clear piece of glass. The only fault we can find on these lamps is some tarnishing to the metal base. We have not attempted to clean the tarnish in fear of removing the finish. One of the lamps is missing the felt on the bottom of the base. There are no chips or cracks in any of the glass. The cords are in good working condition and look like they may have been replaced. They have gorgeous putti angels inside with a dog, and barbola roses and the tops have bows and tassels at the bottom. They are in good vintage condition, one arm has a tiny bent mark in it, I show in photo number 10, its minor but there. Very pretty, not sure if they work but wiring is there and it doesnt look that old. Not sure on age or origin but I dont think these are new. This figure stands 44mm(1.75' high and weighs 17 grams. It is cast from solid silver 800 grade and is attached to the stool via solder and is marked to the base 800 as well as other continental around the chair base. It dates to around 1900 and is very similar in design and execution to Viennese cold painted bronzes from the same period. It is in good condition but missing the back of the top of the chair and is a little out of shape in places and would benefit from a good polish(please see photos) and is a very unusual piece to find in cast silver from this period. Each cherub is sitting outside on stones with a brook. The one cherub has a dog at his side, he is giving him a drink of water from a seashell. The other cherub is eating some grapes with a bird at the edge of the brook. They are on oval bases banded in gold gilt. They display beautifully with some minor damage. Vtg Vintage Dresden Hobe German Putti Baby Angel Cherub Victorain Boot Shoe Lot
Hello- This is a wonderful collection of one Hobe for Dresdan. German Porcelain Putti on a Victorian Shoe plus two other un-marked vintage shoes. The first one in the second picture above has no chips or cracks, and is un-marked. The 3rd picture is un-marked with no chips, or cracks. The 4th picture is the porcelain signed HOBE Cherub, it has ONE chipped flower- which I'm sure can be hidden with a little purple felt pen. You really don't notice the chip, as the flowers are so wild. A very pretty piece with great detail, the Cherub has baby blue eyes and pink rosey cheeks. Each shoe averages 7 1/2" inches long x 5" inches high. Note: Hobe. The highly collected Jewelry company was founded by Jacques Hobe in Paris in 1887. When his son took over in 1915. This listing is for an unusual vintage to antique figure found at an estate sale. This cherub or putti with a full grown and powerful billy goat is made of porcelain and is 5 1/2" high by 5 1/2" long. It is in excellent condition except for a tiny fleabite in the gold edging at the bottom. It has an incised number on the bottom 5012D and an Erphila Germany stamp. Erphila was an importer of fine German and Bavarian ware but I don't think this firm did any manufacturing itself so the manufacturer is actually unknown. However. I have seen an almost identical figure on ebay with the putti riding the goat and that one was made in Bavaria by Gerold& Co. SHIPPING INFORMATION. Shipping information is as follows. Beautiful Vintage Capodimonte Covered Dish This dish is triangular in shape. It measures approx. 8" at its widest point and measures approx. 3 1/2" tall without the lid and approx. 6 1/2" to top of lid. It is in high relief with lots of ornate detail. It is marked Capodimonte and Italy on bottom. Along with some numbers. Not sure of the age. Ther are a few rough surface areas, but I don't see any cracks or repairs. 19c Antique Meissen German Porcelain Putti Cherub Cupid Love Bound Figurine
Rare smaller Meissen Porcelain Figure.M 104 91"Love Bound" A LOVELY MEISSEN CUPID PUTTO TIED UP. This"Love Bound" German figurine depicting the god Cupid dates from the 19TH CENTURY. Cupid is the god of desire. Erotic love, attraction, and affection. As you can see by viewing the pictures. Our poor little putto sits on a on circular grassy pedestal. The perimeter of Cupid's pedestal is painted in beautiful hues of blues and pinks and accented with gold draping and a sea shell design. This little angel and mighty cherub is sans clothing with only a pink/mauve cloth covering him. His hands and small purple and white angel's wings are tied behind his back. His facial expression show discomfort at being put into such a helpless position. His hair is wavy and detailed. They don't make porcelain figures and figurines ... morelike this any more! Very good condition- no cracks. One of the cherub's hand shows signs of previous repair. The top of one of his feet is chipped as is common for these 19th century Meissen antiques. Underneath are the clear marks used between 1875 and 1900- The Meissen crossed swords in underglaze blue. First quality. Incised M 104 and small 91 impressed in the base. I have a pair of these and will offer the 2nd one to the winning bidder if they wish to buy two. SIZE: The compote is just over 8.25 inches tall. The top is approximately 8 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are no chips. No cracks, no repairs to the porcelain. The compote was made in 2 pieces and the connection between the bowl and the pedestal is not as tight as it should be. Description: A beautiful silver comp0rt or silver dish in the form of a cherub bearing the dish on his shoulders. It has great detail& bears the marks of the maker as shown in the photos, there are no hallmarks although there is a rubbing to the column where these marks should have been, the letters of the makers mark suggest it may be russian, teats to the silver suggest it is 80% silver which would fit in with the 800 mark standard used in Russia. This is a very unusual& beautiful model of a cherub weighing 280 grams& measuring 5.5 inches high with the dish having a diameter of 5inches Please see the photos which form a major part of the description. Exquisite Dresden Putti figurine bowl 4 adorable Puttis carry this beautiful floral and wreath detail bowl Mint condition. Every inch absolutely perfect, no chips, cracks, crazing, every single finger and toe perfect, hard to find with all the fingers and toes. Each Putti measures 6 1/5" tall. Bowl measures about 3" deep, 9 1/2" diameter. ~ To the best of my knowledge and research this mark is Dresden.
