Beautiful French St. Denis Aesthetic Faience Pottery/ Ceramic Porcelain Jewelry Box/ Casket with Hand Painted Enamel. This box is really lovely and larger than usual. The top has a scene of handpainted roosters in yard. And across is a wonderful heavy gold japonism enameled scene. Bright polychrome floral enamels decorate the outside border of top and outside body of the bottom section of box. The top has beautiful pheasant bird going after insect. Really a unique piece and quite lovely. It is a large box at 5 3/4" tall and 7 1/2" square. It is set in footed bronze mounting. The hinges are in good condition and the box closes snugly. The pattern is of pastel bouquets of blue flowers& green foilage wrapped in rose pink ribbon with the edges sponged with gold. The shape is oblong with a slightly rasied scroll throughout. Condition ~ is excellent with one descrepancy which is a small chip that is depicted in photos 5& 6. Photo# 6 shows the chip on the exterior of this dresser jar and is seen more obviously than the photo is describing. Otherwise this dresser jar is very clean. Offered for sale is an incredibly beautiful Limoges hand painted round dresser box or jewelry casket. 7 3/4" wide and H 4 1/4" The opening is 6 7/8 inches. The bottom rim is 5 3/4 inches across. Bowl is 2 1/4 inches deep. As the photos show, this is a very accomplished Limoges artist that painted this beauty. Napoleon III French Sevres Enamel Kiln-fired Gilt Jewelry Box Casket
A superb antique French Napoleon III era enamel and gilt jewelry casket. Adorned with five enamel on copper panels of a gorgeous Sevres'Celeste' blue accented by a jeweled border of raised white enamel dots and gilt accents. Each panel is centered by a painted floral cluster of gorgeous flowers. Stunning against the vibrant blue background. Such vibrant colors and amazing detail is quite difficult to achieve in the art of fire-kiln enamel on copper. Th e enameling was likely by one of the masters of Sevres who worked with enamels. Similar to Bresson enamels with raised jeweled dots and the quality of Limoges enamels. The hinged lid opens to reveal a padded tufted and tucked silk lined interior. This is a large& rare example being aprox 7 3/4 inches long. I would consider this piece to be in very nice antique condition for its ... moreage. There is one white dot gone& a small chip in enamel by top of lock( really not that bad. Small see photos. Cloth lining on bottom has been cut a way, most likely due to age& wear. In addition, lid panel sits down a bit from frame& back left leg sits up about a 1/8-1/4 of a inch, so there is a rock. I would not try to adjust legs& just leave it as is. Up for auction is an absolutely fantastic antique egg-shaped jewelry casket or jewelry box. The hand-painted box is egg shaped and sits in a metal stand with paw feet and lion's heads. Measuring approximately 5.5" high and 7.5" across. The lid of the box features a beautifully painted and highly detailed seen, and the bottom of the box features a floral painting. There is intricate gold work along the edge of both the top and bottom of the box, however, there is a good deal of wear to this gold painting. We've taken photos from all angles to give you an idea of this wear. The good news is that the scenes on the top and bottom are in excellent condition and there is no wear or damage to the porcelain or the metal base. Gorgeous Antique Limoges Porcelain Jewelry Box Casket on Ormolu Stand
Offered here is a fabulous Limoges jewelry box. Which rests on an ormolu stand. Hand painted every inch in beautiful gilt, with flowers on the hinged lid inside and on the bottom, although these may not be entirely paint, perhaps transferred, which was a common way of doing secondary decoration when this was made. Condition is very, very good: some slight bending to the stand, and what looks to be possible glue residue to the edges of the bottom. Also a bit of dust in the corners inside, I haven't cleaned this and will let the new owner decide if they feel it's necessary. Measures 7 inches long and about 4 inches tall when sitting on the stand. This is a wonderfully fine thing. Definitely first quality. This beautiful Capo di Monte casket box is of very fine quality. Its creation executed with great precision and intricacy by the artist. It has no chips or cracks anywhere and does not have any fading paint, other than the very minimal wear on only a couple of the gilt painted corners. As shown in the photos, the top comes slightly loose on the back left corner when fully opened, and when fully closed, the clasp barely misses the"clip" The box is quite large, measuring 10 6/16" long, 4 3/4" tall, 6" deep.
