The bowl has a hairline and associated small chip as shown- the lid is fine. NOTE. Pictures taken in sun and shade- please look at all the pictures below. Mrs. Mary Morrison. Was a collector, former museum curator and lecturer on Asian art at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also played an important role in creating the Canadian Society for Asian Arts which got its start in Vancouver in 1968. Over her lifetime, she collected a fabulous collection of Chinese antiques, mostly snuff bottles, and porcelain. Most of her pieces were collected between the 1940's- 70's in England and North America. We were lucky enough to purchase some of the nicer pieces which we are offering on ebay. All the items are completely authentic. Authenticated by Ms. Morrison, and also vetted by ourselves. This is a rare opportunity to buy pieces collected over a lifetime, and kept until death, by an expert on Chinese porcelain. The outside is rimmed with a metal ribbon and a flower clasp in the front. The box doesn’t close all the way due to age and use I would guess. There are no chips or cracks that I can see. There is some tarnish and wear on the metal. The bottom does show age wear, BUT the Carlin Comforts logo can be clearly seen. Vintage beautiful porcelain box of German origin. This is not a contemporary reproduction. This box dated to around 1930' if not earlier. Delicate and substantial in size(measures 5" x 4" and stands 2 1/2" high) this box will look great on display or vanity desk and will bring ambiance to any decor. Made of white porcelain, the exterior painted in lovely cream and embellished with classic transfer picture of a lady and cherubim which is enhanced with hand painted details. All flowers and gold paint was painted by hand. The box mounted into gilded bronze could be brass mounts, has hinged lid and'S' shaped clasp. It is in very good condition without any damage. Porcelain Cobalt& Gold w/ Cherubs Putti on Lid Maker: Has a Sevres-like hallmark but is probably made by someone else. I am not familiar enough to know for sure. Hallmarks: The bottom has a blue hallmark of the twin“L’s” and an“R” inside. Above that is a three dot triangle. Pattern: Simply gorgeous hand painted cherubs/Putti on the top of the lid. Done in pastel colors with a soft blue and white background. The faces are professionally painted. I’ve looked at hundreds of pieces to see if I can say for sure that this one is or is not(I think it is not) Sevres and many of the imitations have badly painted figures and faces. The sides of both base and lid have a deep cobalt blue background with gold paint. The flowers are flat but the stems. Shield-like ... morepieces and the dots are raised. The insides are pure white. Size: It is about 6” round with the top opening of 5” and the ring that sits on the table is 3-3/4” round. The lid is about 5-1/2” round. The bottom is 2” tall and with the lid on. It is about 3” tall. Total weight is 1.8 pounds. Features: There is a brass collar around the opening of the base. This collar has a small piece on its side(see photo#10) which looks like a 3/8” long solid tube– no openings. Since there is no sign of a corresponding piece on the lid. I’m baffled at its purpose. Inside the gold circle that surrounds the cherubs on the lid there are tiny raised dots– a bit bigger than the gold dots that are painted on the blue. I’m not sure what they are made of but they are painted gold. Some puzzle as to its maker but the design is intricate. The quality is evident and the painting is very professional Personalization: No personalization. Condition: The painting of the cherubs has two flaws– both I think were in the manufacturing. On the left at the edge of the ribbon is a hole. Looks like a bubble burst in firing because there is no roughness. Just to the right of that on the edge of the leg is a spo

ANTIQUE GERMAN FLOUR SALT BOX~CARVED WOODEN LID~PORCELAIN HP VIOLETS~LARGE SZ
Up for your consideration I have for you today this beautiful Antique German"flour" Salt Box. It stands at 12 1/4" tall x 5" across the bottom x 5" in diameter. It features a wooded lid with a carved detailed wooden back having a hole in the center for hanging on the wall. The back is attached to the bottom of the porcelain jar part. Having large round dowel knobs entering from behind the piece to the interior of the piece. The porcelain bottom measures 6 1/2" tall. The front has hand violets, along with some white snowdrops, amongst entwined green leaves. It is all accented with bands of gold. There is also a medallion type flower at the very top which is pronounced and highlighted in gold. At the very center of the piece written in old style German is the thick lettering in gold"Mehl" which stands ... morefor Flour. This piece was used in the kitchen, I am guessing from the 1800's to store flour. It is free standing and can also be hung up. It is in fine condition with minor gold loss, however only around the thin gold outlines of the piece. The main lettering and accented gold flowers are in good shape. This piece is outstanding! Carlsbad Fine Porcelain Box with Lid…Napoleon Battle Scene Inside…Beehive Mark…Royal Vienna Style This a fabulous Carlsbad Fine Porcelain box done in the style of Royal Vienna. It could be used as a trinket or jewelry box. The box has a figural scene on the lid against a chocolate brown background. Gold gilding work surrounds the border of the lid as well as the base. Please ignore the glare on the photos and my inability to properly capture the true beauty and quality of this porcelain box. The dark brown color is very hard to photograph without adequate lighting. The most beautiful aspect of the piece is the lovely Napoleonic scene inside the base(photo#1) The scene depicts Napoleon on his horse in battle. The intricate scene is set in the center of the base and surrounded by more gold gilding with the same chocolate brown background found ... moreon the exterior. This piece is marked"Victoria Czecho-Slovakia” along with a gold marking which reads“FSK Fine Art Work” There is also a blue beehive mark which is commonly found on Royal Vienna- Austrian pieces. The box is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and some light fading of the gold border on the top. There are a few tiny paint flecks/minor surface wear but nothing unexpected for a piece of this age. This is a Beautiful Antique porcelain large egg shape with lid bonbon box decorated with a panel of lovers within a gilt and cobalt blue border. Signed by Artist: F. Boucher. The Egg is in great condition, the gilt is in good condition also. Size: 5" long. 4" wide, 4" tall. Please feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I have determined that this is the lid of a Sevres bronze and porcelain box similar to the one listed on eBay in the past which was once owned by King Farouk of Egypt. An antique German flour keeper. Cr 1900. It has a pretty design of blue and white flowers with leaves in blue and green set off by gold flowers and edging on a white ground. Gold lettering for the word"Mehl" German for flour) is in the center of the front face. The wooden lid is hinged and plain but the wall hanger has a design carved into it. The hanger is fastened to the'pot' with two screws, one of which looks to be a replacement, and held in place on the inside by two wooden caps. The piece is in very good condition for its age although there is wear to the hinge and some of the gilding is also worn. Mainly on the top edge where the lid is lifted. There are no chips, cracks or crazing to the porcelain. It can be hung on the wall or free standing. I have for you a vintage Capodimonte Box with lid. The Cherubs on top look to be picking flowers. There are two Cherubs. I believe the mark on the bottom is the older Capodimonte mark. There are no chips. Cracks. It's in wonderful shape. The underside of the lid is rough, Bisque, unfired. Same as the bottom, rough, unfired, Bisque. The rest is glazed. The sides have a scroll pattern while the top has Cherubs that are typical of Capodimonte. I show the label on the bottom. Antique late 1800s Capodimonte High Relief Porcelain Box. There is no lid, this is how I found the box. Box has a decorative bronze border rim on top. Inside box is lined in brown velvet. The scenes on each side is fantastic. There are flying cherubs and angels that are shooting figures on horses with bow and arrows, and figures are falling off the horses, one side has what looks like Jesus hanging from the cross, another side has figures on horses chasing a Boar and trying to spear it, and one side has two figures bathing in a river with a dog next to each. Please look at all photos to get an idea of what great scenes there are. Condition: The box does have some ... morewear, but is in sturdy condition and no missing pieces. The bottom has a crack, but bottom is still in tact and is strong. Three of the corners have some of the painted design chipped off but underneath has the same design, one side has a chip out of the top of the scene but its been glued back on perfectly(it could be a crack and has not been glued back on) Although there is some wear Scenes are still in good condition. Bottom has The N and a Crown. There is the number 1683 on one of the bottom corners. There is wear to the box but this is still a great antique piece for display. If the box had the lid and was in perfect condition it would cost $2,000-$2500 or more. I try to describe my items honestly and accurately. But I'm no expert. A beautiful and dainty trinket box. This is in outstanding condition. I notice a small kind of tiny dent on the short footed part under the bowl. However, it could be the way it was made- no sharpness to it at all. It was purchased around 1940. But might have been formed much earlier than that. It was painted with gold plate or leaf all around the lid and box. Quite exquisite. The word"Lait" appears on the inside of the lid. I cannot quite read the green symbols under the box. We found this old salt box at an estate sale; no information on age or origin was available- it has a gold maker's mark on bottom that is partially rubbed off and difficult to read. The white box has a pearl/irridescent glaze on front and sides. An embossed crest is on the front. The word"Salt" and some other gold accents are partially visible on front and corners although much has been rubbed off. It also has a hole on the top for wall-mounting and a hinged wooden lid Measures 5-1/4" X 4" X 6-1/2" high CONDITION: previously owned older piece; no structural damage. Chips or cracks. The well of the box has a floral transfer spray. The box and lid have brass classical mounts of stiff acanthus leaf and stemmed berries. It measures 3-1/2" tall by 6" diameter. Signed: Germany. Possibly French. Not sure of the maker on this lovely antique snuff box/patch box. There is a maker's name stamped into the porcelain, can be seen in the photo when held up to the light. I can't read it for sure. This is all handpainted with a nice rural scene on the lid, tiny floral designs on the remainder of the body both inside and out, gilded base. It measures 2 3/8 x 1 1/2 x 1" approx. and is in good condition with no flaws that I can see. The hardware appears to be brass or bronze and the lid snaps shut tightly. On the underside is an X with the letters A. W. M. R. as the mark, which was applied by hand. But I notice after I photoed it that there are a few little food splashed on it. They come right off.
