This large. Heavy bowl is covered in a intricate all over design, featuring flowers within cartouches around both the lid and the bowl, surrounded by a very origami-like design. There are four small handle type attachments to the bowl. And the lid has an unusual recess in the top, within which is the handle. The bowl measures approximately 5" high with the cover on. And approximately 9 and 7/8" in diameter across the rim. A wonderful gift for a person who appreciates beautiful things… who might very well be you yourself! Marks: On the bottom is the IDG mark within a double oval. I think this mark is still in use today though it looks decidedly more contemporary than the one on this bowl. Condition: This piece is in excellent vintage condition. I can see no cracks. Chips, repairs, or crazing. The only condition issue is some discoloration on the inside rim where the lid rests. Covered Ginger Jar Urn Vintage Hand Painted Pink Floral German Porcelain c 1900
This is a Vintage Hand Painted. Covered Ginger Jar or Urn, which may have been produced in Dresden, Germany. When covered it stands 10" tall to the top of the finial. The jar alone stands 7-1/2" tall and measures 2-1/8" across the opening. At its widest. The body measures 4" in diameter and the round base measures 2-3/4" The design consists of two matching panels of flowers. Separated by two matching panels containing a geometric pattern. The color is a shade of pink or mauve with a white background. There is a gold band around the top opening and foot, as well as gold lines surrounding the designs on the jar. The lid has gold accents on the finial and a gold band around the base and gold outlining in the design. There are no chips. Cracks, scratches, crazing or discolorations. The color is lovely and unfaded and ... morethe glazed finish is nice and shiny. The gold is intact. The bottom rim shows good age wear and I would date this piece to the early to mid 1900's. On the base is a gold leaf. The words"Hand Painted" and a number"9244. From 1991 to 1999. Description This is a covered vegetable or soup dish in the Clevedon pattern made by Ridgways at the Bedford Works pottery in Staffordshire. England, and more specifically Shelton. The dish is backmarked with the bow and quiver trademark and Royal Semi Porcelain above the bow/quiver. Then the pattern name- Clevedon and then England below the pattern name. This was the only Ridgway factory to use Royal Semi Porcelain as part of the pottery's mark. The Clevedon pattern is often seen in flow blue. But this is a version with soft pink flowers on brown vines and leaves. The bowl and lid are trimmed in gold. There are three small makers flaws- flea bites- inside the bowl on the bottom. Otherwise there are no chips. Cracks or apparent damage. Based on the backmark this covered dish dates to 1920 to 1952. This auction is for a Lovely Antique Porcelain Sardine Box or Covered Jar made by Victoria Austria. It has a hand painted Black and White Sardine as its handle with red eyes and gills. The cover and body has neatly ribbed pattern lines. On the lid. The ribs radi ate out in a sunburst pattern from the fish. The box and the lid are in very good condition. Especially for its age, which I believe dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. There is age appropriate loss of gold accents along the rim of the lid and very tin y indented Black Dot in the face(see last photo) that was done in the firing p rocess. As is the case with much old porcelain. The lid fits loosely and wobbles slightly but it is a matching pair and it doesn't detract from this Great Display Piece. Made in Japan' with marks that match a mark for Bibi. I found this online about this mark: Might be the mark of a shop or trading company that commissioned pieces for sale. And got pieces from various kilns marked like this. The mark occurs on several pieces of which some are almost identical to Kutani. Recent information has it that Bibi is the name of a family import firm that imported porcelain from Japan to Lebanon during the 1950s and 60s. This porcelain had a Bibi mark on it and was sold in Beirut. The family might also have had a porcelain import business in Palestine in the 1930s and 40s before they were forced to flee in 1947. This covered box is done in lovely sage green and cream colors with lavender and amber flower designs. As well as some other colors that are not so prominent. See photos, please. This rose colored box has a rose done in relief on the top. The piece was made by the French firm Samson and is in the style of famille rose porcelain made by the Chinese in the 18 th century. The box is 5 ½ inches tall and 4 ½ inches in diameter. It is marked with the pseudo mark used by Samson. It dates to the late 19 th or early 20 th century. Mid 1800s Porcelain Covered Box in Elongated Octagonal Form. England Presented is an interesting and unusual porcelain covered box in a brown faux marble finish on a light caramel background. The interior has two raised ridges in the bottom. Perhaps this was storage for a toothbrush? You could certainly use it as a butter dish in our day and age! Please scroll down to see our photographs. This porcelain piece was made in the mid 1800s and was probably made in England. The piece has overall light cracklature visible with a magnifier. There are two very fine hairline cracks on the exterior of the rim running down one inch on the outside of the dish. They are so fine that they do not show up in the photographs. They do not run inside the piece and seem very superficial. There are two small chips on the edge of the lid measuring no more than ... more5 mm each. They are not noticeable. One of these chips appears to have been glazed so was probably from the making of it. Otherwise. There are no other chips, no other cracks, and no other problems of any kind. Offering this beautifully detailed porcelain trinket or powder dish/ box by Heubach(Germany) The dish measures approximately 3 1/2" high and 4 1/2" at the widest point. I am not certain of the age but based on the manufacturer marks. It probably was produced in the early 1900's. The soft blue/ grey coloring on this dish has the appearance of Royal Copenhagen or Bing and Grondahl pieces. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. The piece measures 5 ½ inches or 14 cm high and is 6 ½ inches or 16.5 cm at its widest. The figural dresser box features a pink woven basket full of white eggs. The cover shows winged cherubs emerging from the eggs. They are in various states of hatching. Making the piece quite interesting. It is marked on the interior of the cover in underglaze blue“KPM” which dates the piece to the early 20 th century. The figural dresser box is in overall very good condition for its age. One cherub has a repair to his foot. Minor flea bites on some of the applied flowers and a small chip to the base foot. Up for auction is an antique lustrous. Large and unique dual Portrait Box. I have never seen another one as exquisite as this one, with cobalt Flow to the blue decoration on both the top and the bottom. Measuring approx. 7" square, and including the handle, it is 5" tall. There are dainty purple and pink flowers surrounding the relief on the base and the top. The portraits are the most beautiful part of the piece, both women wearing period hats. I only wish I knew the history. It is in excellent condition with a very minor flea bite on the underside edge of the top. Antique Porcelain Covered Box With Two Small Trays Inside - Floral Design
Very old porcelain covered dish. With no maker's mark. I believe this was an ashtray holder. Lifting up the lid of the box(which measures 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" you will find two small trays(measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" each) There are gold paint trimmings on all pieces, which have worn away somewhat through the years. Also lovely flowers on the lid and on the trays. There are a few chips off the edges of both the flowers and the box itself. You have to look hard though, and it's a very pretty item from the"smoking ages. You could actually use the box and little trays for used teabags, lemon for your tea, or whatever. Antique hand painted porcelain Chateau De Longpre France covered dish with metal handles and legs and a top between dish and cover. This covered dish is absolutely Gorgeous. The base color is a maroon like shad and there are pictures of a courting couple on the cover and to accent that is a design painted on the painted of the dish in raised gold gilt and on the cover around each of the pictures. The inside has a rose painted in the middle of the bowl and the underside of the cover also has roses painted on it. The metal work on this dish is also gorgeous the color is consistent with what you would see in something this old. There are very few minor imperfections in the paint and around the base of the dish where it meets the legs there are small areas where the dish isn't as shiny but it is minor and can't be seen when the dish is ... moredisplayed. This item is an antique Russian porcelain box with cherubs playing the harp on the cover. There are two pieces to this covered box. A top and bottom. The bottom has a beautiful turquoise green with gold accent and design. The bottom has a hallmark and crown and says three things around the hallmark: BARANOVKA" FONDEE 1802" and"N.P. GRIPARI" The markings on the bottom are in blue. From the markings we think this box is from the 1895 to 1917 time frame. This box measures 3-1/2" in diameter with the top measuring 3" in diameter. This item is 2" tall with the top on and 1-1/4" tall without the top. This item came from a high end estate sale in Northern New Jersey. Know that this item is coming to you from a clean. Antique old paris porcelain covered boxes. Hand painted with pink roses with green leaves on the tops and around the bottoms. On the top of one box ther is some tiny chips to the larger rose paint. It measures 10.5" in length. 7" wide and stands 4.5" tall with the hinged cover closed. There are gilt floral panel decorations in red and deep blue covering the box. The box measures 3 ¾ inches or 9.5 cm high. And is 6 ¾ inches or 17.1 cm wide. The box is glazed in light blue with a cartouche at the top featuring men and women in a garden setting. Around the box is a heavy gilded hand painted border. The sides of the box are also have heavy applied gold highlights. The white interior of the box has colorful floral bouquets. The box has a hinge at the back and bronze mounts with a small clasp at the front. It is marked on the bottom with incised numbers“1929” and a blue Sevres porcelain mark. It is in very good age appropriate condition. There is darkening to the bronze mounts. And some scratching to the bottom. This auction is for an unusual Victorian porcelain or bisque covered box. Although not signed. I believe it to be German made. The only markings is the number 464 stamped on the inside of the lid. There is what looks to be a dead rabbit on top the lid surrounded by foliage. Box is larger then most you find measuring 4 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" long and 4 1/2" wide. There is some minor roughness around the inside of the base and a factory flaw separation on the lid(shows worse on the inside) The photos show it well. VINTAGE MADDOCK'S LAMBERTON WORKS COVERED CANDY/ JEWELRY DISH. Beautiful floral of pink and blue flowers with gold trim. The gold is both part of the pattern as well as on the edging. There is an embossed swirl pattern both on the lid and the bowl. The edges of the lid are scalloped. The bottom rim of the bowl is also somewhat scalloped. When you look at the dish from one side you see the blue floral design on both the lid and bowl. If you turn the piece to the other side you see the pink floral design. Clearly marked with company name. This piece was on my grandmother's coffee table for as far back as I can remember. And I never knew it had a repair to the lid handle.
