Although only marked"Made in France" I'm pretty ... morecertain that this compass was manufactured by Testrite. Testrite compasses were made in both Germany and France but this particular one is marked"Made in France" on the dial. It was most likely manufactured in the 1930's or 1940's. The dial is silver plated metal unlike many which have a paper dial. The case is brass and measures 1-7/8" 47mm) in diameter x 3/8" 10mm) thick. It has a heavy, beveled edge, glass crystal. There is a ring loop(bail or bow) attached to the case at the South(S" marker on the dial. Fully functional and accurate with no liquid inside. It has a transit lock damper controlled by a lever on the side to prevent movement of the needle when you have fixed the position of the compass or when you are carrying it. The silver metal dial has indications/markers for the Cardinal and Half-Cardinal points. The needle is tinted dark blue for the North indication. The compass is in very nice condition. The bail or bow is secure. The crystal isn't chipped, cracked, flaked, or chiggered, the case is free of dents and dings, and the needle is sensitive and accurate. Condition ~ is excellent with one descrepancy which is a small chip that is depicted in photos 5& 6. Underneith the sticker that reads Made in Frace there looks to be 3 initials impressed into the porcelain that I cannot read- and do not want to remove the sticker to take a close look. No chips or cracks but if you look at the pics of the inside you will see that the goldtone surround has been jarred a bit. Beautiful antique porcelain powder jar signed Robj. Paris, France. Art deco woman figural wearing dress in sriking cobalt blue and yellow. Approximately 5 3/4" tall. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Similar piece listed in Kovel's 1993 page 568 for $660.00. From online galleries.com: Robj is a pseudonym for Jean Born. He created a design company in 1908 which was was active in Paris in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Jean Born died in a car accident in 1922 and the company continued under the direction of his partner, Lucien Willmetz. Robj actively encouraged Art Deco and Cubist designers and artists. T & V LIMOGES FRANCE SMALL PORCELAIN TRINKET JEWELRY DISH
This small round porcelain covered dish can be used for jewelry. Cosmetics or whatever you like. It's 2 1/2" wide with a lid. The dish and lid were painted with a unique pattern and the lid has raised dots to give it a slightly different texture. There's no packaging to go with this so I don't know it's age. On the bottom of the dish there's a stamp that reads T&V France.

Up for bid is an original vintage used Rare Antique Ceramic Hand Painted Trinket Box Made in France. Found at an estate sale. This box measures about 4 1/4" long by 2 7/8" wide and about 2" tall. It has a gold painted rose design accenting each side of the box and a picture on top of a man and three women in a garden with sheep(late 1700s/early 1800s) On the inside. The lid and bottom has a small gold painted twig of leaves. It has a gilt fastener and surround is in good used condition. There is s ome discoloration of the gilt. I could find no cracks. The hinge and clasp work and the lid opens and closes without problems. It is written on the bottom"Made in France" and the manufacturer's mark is visible on the bottom as well. The top and sides of this box have gilt hinges and the box is in mint condition. Approximately 6 inces wide. 3.75 inches wide, 3.5 inches high. Description This is an absolutely stunning antique box. I think it dates to the late 19th century. It is marked Chateau de Longpre- Manufacture Francaise France. It is a burgundy color with courting couple on one side and landscape scene on other size. it has raised painted gold design around the scenes and on the bottom portion. There is a floral design on the inside on the top and bottom. the porcelain has a bronzed metal frame with openwork design aound the bottom of the box. Three legs and an acorn finial on the top. There is no damage to the metal but there is tarnishing. I have not tried to clean or polish it.
