DOULTON Toast/Letter Rack, English Porcelain, Pure White, made c.1891-1895
This lovely pure white object will hold four slices of toast or countless cards. Letters or memos. It can be dated with considerable accuracy in that its back stamp contains the word'England' which was introduced in 1891, but does NOT use the word'Royal' introduced in 1901, when Doulton received its Royal warrant. It is also marked'Burslem'with Doulton having moved its production north into the Potteries. We estimate this elegant table object. Without chips, cracks or glazing, to be about 120 years old. It is 8.5" long. 5" wide, and 4" high to the top of its lifting ring. It weighs 300 grams. A beautiful addition to any table or desk.
