Today I am offering a very beautiful French Jardiniere by CREIL MONTEREAU decorated with hand painted flowers(that looks somewhat like barbotine majolica) and ormolu. Very good condition no cracks or hairlines. Minor not noticeable scratches and couple rough spots. Marked on the bottom and signed on a face under the flowers. 16" long and 10 1/2" tall.

This is an antique French dresser box. Oval and bombe shaped. Sevres porcelain with the mark of the studio" Chateau de Longpre" and the word"France" on the bottom. The strong colbalt blue color is accented by the gold design, hand painted and hand designed. The handpainted scene on the lid is that of a pair of lovers in a garden. The artist who signed this box is"A. Grisard" and the signature is located on the left side of the painting. The lid opens to reveal roses on the inside of the lid and bottom of the box. The lid is framed with the ormolu and is hinged on the back side. It opens and closes well. The only wear on this piece is little considering the age. Which must be over 100 years. Some of the gold painted accent edge is slightly worn where you would hold the box while opening the lid. There is some ... moreage and patina on part of the back hindge. The lid of this wonderful box has hundreds of applied forget-me-nots mixed with wonderful pink and yellow roses. The lid and base have been mounted in a floral. Pierced bronze settings. There are two beautifully hand painted bouquets of flowers inside, one on the bottom of the box and one on the underside of the lid. Marked'10.61' on the lid and'55.5' on the base. The box measures approximately 6 1/4 inches across and 3 1/4 inches high. The box is in general excellent condition. If this hadn't had a mark on the bottom. see picture 8) I would have been convinced it was from the Samson Factory in France.They were well known for copying Chinese porcelain pieces, especially armorial ones. In fact, someone has this exact same box listed on Ruby Lane and they have listed it as such, as theirs doesn't have a mark on it. Of course, I suppose this could be an exact copy of a Samson piece. Whatever it is, it is most attractive and the quality is excellent. Hand painted design of a Russian double headed crowned eagle, holding a sceptre in its left talons and an orb in its right ones. German Elfinware Fruit Covered Ormolu Powder Box 5 Inches
I've listed many items this week and the prices are good. So the quality is not reflected with price. This is a German ormolu box covered with fruit on top. On the INSIDE there is a chip to the top(see pictures) and a chip to the base(perhaps someone dropped lid too hard? There are Dresden flowers on the inside of the box. The top is covered with applied apples. Lemons, plums, green and purple grapes. There was something blue, but two of the tree are broken. It is a stunning piece.usually seen with flowers, very unusual with fruits. Box is 5 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches tall. The damaged chips inside do not show when box has its lid on. The little blue fruit that is broken is very small and not noticeable.

Antq. Continental Porcelain w/ Mounted Brass Ormolu DRESSER VANITY BOX Portrait
Found at an estate auction- this amazing antique vanity or dresser box of unknown maker. Likely French. This highly decorative round porcelain box features, front and center on its domed lid, a charming artist signed hand painted enamel miniature portrait of a 18th century young beauty, 2" in diameter, bevel set in brass ormolu. The artist's name is something like" Ulbeidi" Surrounding the portrait all the way to the edge are applied ormolu floral swags and garlands and four classically robed women. I have never seen anything quite like it. The base color is a vibrant cyan blue or celeste blue- a color favored in porcelain done in SEVRES(France) I have also seen German or Dresden pieces with similar ormolu mounts(but none as extravagant as this one) I am not a collector or an expert. Offering a rare and perfect little porcelain box that reverently depicts one of the greatest Americans of all time. The"Father of Our Country" George Washington. This little treasure is finely made and has survived over one hundred years in nearly perfect condition. The stoic gaze of our first president and the richly colored porcelain is perfectly accented by the lovely aged bronze fittings framing its edges. Standing on four beautiful and ornate little bronze legs, this pretty piece has the look of finery which antique Czech porcelain is so famous for. M.P. SEVRES PAUL MILET ENAMELED ORMOLU PORCELAIN TRINKET VANITY BOX. This is a rare and remarkable Paul Jean Milet Sevres porcelain box. This box has been enameled with dark blue. Turquoise blue, green and gold glazes that contrast beautifully with the brass washed copper border and latch. The top is adorned with a gilded metal applique of holly leaves- I do not believe this is brass but some other type of non-metallic metal. The gilding has a warm time worn patina. The bottom is signed with the"MP Sevres" within a dotted circle, which was used from 1911 until 1930. There is also a hand painted"V" mark on the bottom edge. This box is in very good condition. No chips. Cracks or crazing, although there is some light wear associated with age. On the inside of the lid the clear glaze has a hairline fracture but this is only ... moreaffecting the clear glaze, not the porcelain lid. It is barely visible and does not detract the beauty of this box. There is a grainy textured area on the inside of the box which definitely came from the manufacture of this piece. The hinge and latch are both in working order but the top stays slightly raised on the left side which I think is due to slight warping of the metal ring. Antique Ceramic Trinket/Powder Box with Gold-colored Ormolu Fittings
Absolutely lovely ceramic trinket or powder box with a plethora of fruits and flowers on the lid and an encasement of gold-colored ormolu on the lid and body. Inside the box is a handpainted bouquet of flowers. The box measures 5" in diameter on the outside and 4" inside. It stands 3" tall. Overall. It's in beautiful condition, with bright colors and lovely details in the ormolu. A couple of flowers on top have very minor chips; I had to use a magnifying glass to check the condition because it appears perfect. Inside the bowl has am obvious chip on its rim, and a small, not very obvious one directly across from it. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures. Gorgeous Antique Limoges Porcelain Jewelry Box Casket on Ormolu Stand
Offered here is a fabulous Limoges jewelry box. Which rests on an ormolu stand. Hand painted every inch in beautiful gilt, with flowers on the hinged lid inside and on the bottom, although these may not be entirely paint, perhaps transferred, which was a common way of doing secondary decoration when this was made. Condition is very, very good: some slight bending to the stand, and what looks to be possible glue residue to the edges of the bottom. Also a bit of dust in the corners inside, I haven't cleaned this and will let the new owner decide if they feel it's necessary. Measures 7 inches long and about 4 inches tall when sitting on the stand. This is a wonderfully fine thing. Definitely first quality. Up for auction is this beautiful and original vintage Meissen porcelain snuff/ trinket box with gorgeous flowers painted throughout the sides. Top, and inside of the box. Ormolu rimmed hinge with clasp in front. Piece is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips, or repairs. Lid closes and opens well but isn't an airtight seal when closed. Bottom is marked with the crossed swords dating it between 1934-1944. Measures 4" inches long. 2.9" inches wide, and 1.8" inches tall. Would make a fine display piece. DATING TO THE PERIOD OF NAPOLEON III, C1850. This is a gorgeous French porcelain box. The center is a hand painted image of two cherub angels- they are painted a la grisaille- or in shades of grey. They are wonderful! The porcelain box has a pink ground with gold trim and further painting of flowers again in grisaille on the front. It has bronze ormolu mounts with a tightly closing wreath motif clasp. The box is most likely from France. It dates to c1850 I believe. The box is in superb condition. There is no damage to the porcelain and the image is in wonderful condition. The bronze is all in excellent condition. There is a mark ... moreon the bottom which I cannot make out. The box measures approximately 4" x 5 1/2" The underside is marked with the Limoges mark in black, and also the red script mark which reads: Tiffany& Co. Private Stock/ Hand Painted/ Made in France. The porcelain box and cover are mounted in a hinged metal frame. The metal mountings appear to me to be solid brass ormolu. But I am not an expert and they could be bronze dore. The exterior of the porcelain box has a lovely pink base color and is elaborately hand decorated with gold florals and flourishes. As well as two portraits(both portraits are transfers) of beautiful women, one a brunette the other a blonde. On the obverse is a musical themed decoration in gold depicting horns& sheet music and on the reverse is a large gold floral cartouche. Inside the box. Under the lid and in the very bottom, are colorful and skillfully 100% hand painted ... morefloral decorations against a white background. The top of the box is artist signed with a hand painted name that appears to me to be“Sineb” to the right side of the brunette’s portrait. The porcelain base is marked with a hand painted mark in cobalt consisting of“crossed arrows” and the letters“E” above and“G’ below. It is also marked with“made in France” hand painted in red. There is also a very old worn paper label still adhered to the bottom. It does have some markings but is mostly illegible. Using a loupe I can see what appears to me to be either“898” or“1898” But nothing else. This crossed arrows mark was used by many firms. Most notably the Bourdois& Bloch/ Achille Block firm in Paris, France, which has been in business since 1887. A similar mark to the mark on this piece. Without the letters, is shown as mark H on Page 132 of the book Kovels’ New Dictionary of Marks: Pottery& Porcelain 1850 To the Present by Ralph& Terry Kovel.
