For sale is a antique or vintage cast iron mailbox. Approx 6" W x 12" T. It has a tapered from, goes from 3" deep down to 1-1/2" deep toward the bottom. The back is metal and the rest is cast iron. The front has the words Post Box, has lockable front and to peep holes. The back metal plate has a good bit of rust but no holes and is pretty solid. Here we have a Vintage Tudor Mailtainer Metal Wall Mount Mail Box. We believe this item is from the 1930's. Manufactured by the PN CO Fulton IL. This Mail Box is in very good condition. It is solid. Sturdy and rust free. The top lid opens and closes properly. There is a very small bend on the right had side of the lid. The middle door opens and closes properly and the latch works. I do NOT have the key. This mailbox includes the additional newspaper holder attached to the bottom, which is not always found on this type/brand of Mail Box. Our best guess is that it was part of a fence. It is hollow. Painted silver, a metal that attracts a magnet and measures 12" tall by 3" wide with a 2" round hole running through. This is dirty and could benefit from a good cleaning. Quite heavy, quite solid but does not stand solidly as that is not the design. It has a tulip and leaf design. Quite nice. Up for auction is a vintage Gamon Meter Company Watch Dog Water Meter cover mounted on a block of wood. It is found in good used condition and is made of metal. But it does not attract a magnet. This meter cover is mounted a 4 1/4" diameter piece of wood. Felt is glued onto the base so it will not scratch the surface it sits on. As a result, a small trinket box is formed. It was probably a give-away or a desk accessory from the company. The interior is approximately 2 1/4" in diameter and approximately 1 1/4" tall.
