Authentic Antique Chinese wooden house shutter. Deeply carved and pierce carved with a tiger and horses. 37" by 12" The tiger panel has warped and does not fit tight in the grooves. It also has writing on the back that I can't decipher.see photos) These were marketed by Horchow's Catalog in the late 90's and they provided a Certificate of Antiquity issued by HONG KONG ART CRAFT MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION. Dated 1997. They sold them for around $1100. each back then. This is one of two that I have listed.

The center section is recessed and backed with a beveled mirror and has a marble top vanity with the original porcelain sink. Below are 2 small drawers and a cabinet faced with carved doors. To either side are the closets. They are faced with beveled mirror doors with a drawer below each. The 4 legs have fluted pilasters topped with columns. Corbels, and finials. The pediments are loaded with carvings. Ornate moldings, spindle work galleries and in the center a peaked crown with carved sun rays. This is one of the nicest closets I have seen and it is very unique. It is made of walnut and is currently painted. The sides of the corbels are carved. There is a nice finial in the middle. It measures 46 inches tall by 16 tall not including the top board. The body is 3 thick not including the molding. Overall. It is in very decent co ndition. There are misc. light scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. One foot is broken off and has some loss. The. Carving was apparently broken from a stone lintol fronted with carvings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John during the 16th Century Reformation of the churches and monastery's by Henry VIII. The previous owners told me that the head had been displayed in a museum until it was aquired in the 1940s. Antique Architectural Furniture Remnant Carved Wood Eagle Mounted Sculpture
Up for auction is an antique woodenware carved architectural eagle recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition but has two chips which appear to have been repaired. This has been turned into an interesting sculpture by being mounted on a modern base. It does have a nice look! The eagle has a"Black Forest" carved appearance and is carved from walnut. It was originally mounted on something, such as apiece of furniture or on a mirror. Antique Swan Carved Architectural Remnant Double-Sided
This is an architectural remnant of a double-sided swan. Likely circa 1880's or somewhat earlier, and perhaps from a carved couch, chair, or other furniture piece. The detail on the swan indicates a rather early date based on the detail. Note the double necklace of beads, and the carved texture and feathers on the swan body. Additionally, the wings are carved with nice detail, and appear to have once been gilded. They have weathered to a lovely patina. The body is stained darker than the wings. I do not know what type of wood this is, but it is very dense, and heavy, almost feeling like a cast iron.perhaps stained rosewood? The picture of the back of the remnant shows a piece of oak that was laid in the indentation between the winds. A piece of this oak is gone as shown.
