Non-fused knife switch on a slate backboard, that is in good condition.This disconnect knife-switch, circa 1900}was taken from a house built in 1871.This was the original electric service for this house and the original exposed"knob and cleat" wires are still on the terminals,The slate is not broken,but has some normal wear and dirt marks.The copper and brass has dirt and some tarnish and it is missing 2 terminal screws. The screws on the handle block have some rust on the heads.I have not found a name of manufacture.This knife- switch is intended for collectors or novelty. Chalkboard with REAL Antique Schoolhouse Slate! This is a very nice chalkboard made with an antique wood frame and old schoolhouse slate. The frame used for the chalkboard is an antique and finished in guilted gold. Dates back to the very early 1900's. The slate used for this chalkboard came out of a local elementary school which was built in the early 1910's. It's approximately 1/4" thick and is in nice condition. Nothing beats actual slate for a chalkboard. Spray painted chalkboard surfaces just don't compare. This slate has lasted for 90 years and will last for many more years to come! Antique architectural slate piece stone salvage
Antique architectural slate fragment. Very heavy piece with nice decorative design cut into the surface. Nice overall condition with only a few small chips and cracks. There is a seem cutting across the surface at an angle. I believe this to be a natural layers in the slate. This area is slightly raised above the rest of the surface and is also visible on the edges and on the back. There is a chunck of lead imbeded in the back slightly raised above the surface. I'm sure this was used to secure it another surface. Measures 9" x 10" x 1"

Description This is a beautiful set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They are made of slate and have their original faux painting. It was originally located in the vestibule between the front and foyer doors. Each side is made up of three sections; base. Body and cap. The left side is how I think it was originally set up. I am confused that the cap is thicker than the rest? I have shown both ways to set them up in the pics. All three sections have great carved designs accented by the faux painting. Each piece measures 56 inches wide by 39 tall. They are between 3/8 ths and one inch thick along the body. Overall. They are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. Some of the painting is missing showing the grey slate underneath.
