Ideal for porch or hallway this versatile lamp is in good condition. The six sided glass has deep indentations forming square shaped panels. The brass dome mounts onto the glass by three circular knurled grub brass screws. The dome is decorated with a beaded border. The light fitting is made of brass and white porcelain and is secured into the dome by a knurled acorn shaped screw fitting. The heavy brass chain is composed of alternating links of standard stlyed links and links that are rebated around their outer periphery. The chain is stamped with"Patent 3169" and the date"1904" placing the lanterns production clearly in the Edwardian period. The lantern is fitted with new brass coloured cloth covered braided cable. The unit measures approx. 9 1/2" 24cm) across and the threads on the bottom of the hot& cold feeds appear to be just over 1" The ceramic top on the waste has a crack in it otherwise it is in good uncleaned original condition but I am sure would polish up beautifully if you wished. It will need two new small brass bolts to hold the waste cover in position as they are missing and washers etc. replacing as required. UK Courier delivery £10.00. The back has the company name that I can't quite read and a date of 1911 The inside cover is impressed 59& 67 and the back 5B1A It measures 7 1/2 inches by 5 inches by 3 1/8 inches. The condition is good and it's structurally sound. The bells have corrosion.
