For sale are 37 pieces in varying sizes of terra cotta facade salvaged from Anderton`s Restaurant. I have a collection of 37 pieces and would like to sell them as a group. About 7 of the pieces are fairly small and are what I call paper weight size. The restaurant began Downtown as Anderton's Restaurant and Oyster Bar at 151 Madison in 1945. A second location was added in 1956 as Anderton's East at 1901 Madison. Herbert Anderton. Closed the Downtown location in 1975 and consolidated the business into Anderton's Restaurant. His son later took over the restaurant. The restaurant had chefs who remained for as long as 50 years. Linda Anderton managed the front of the restaurant while her husband oversaw the food. The restaurant's distinctive sea-foam green colors and nautical theme as well as the location's diverse patronage, ... moreattracted Hollywood movie makers who shot scenes for the films"21 Grams" Walk the Line" and"The Client" at the restaurant. VINTAGE Galvanized Tin METAL Moulding Plaster MOLDS Architectural Salvage CHIC
I attended an estate sale about 8 years ago in Little Rock. Arkansas. It was the estate of a lady who had been a very successful home decorator in the 1960's and early 70's. We bought the contents of her outside storage building and these were in that storage area. I have held onto them all these years. Trying to figure out what in the world they were. Someone told me yesterday that she believes they are the molds that you would use to press into the plaster or clay. Then when this is dry. this would then create the mold that you would pour the plaster into. I hope that makes sense and I hope that is truly what this is. Anyway. this person said she believes they are vintage. If not antique. But I will leave that for the bidder to determine. The largest one measures about 8" x 6.5" They are made of some sort of galvanized ... moremetal/tin. There are 4 of each design. They are fairly heavy. weighing about 2.5 pounds(all together) Condition is very good. no breaks or holes in the metal. But they do have some remnants of dried plaster(or some kind of dried substance) I have not tried to clean. I am just selling as is. Pair of Vintage exterior fanned pediment architectural salvage
Here are a couple of Vintage fanned pediments that could be used for exterior decor above doors or for any creative idea. They each measure roughly 70" long by 20" tall by 3" thick. They are in decent shape except for a couple of cracks(picture 7) These are easily repaired and then with a couple coats of fresh paint they are gone. The chips are on the back of one of them(pictures 5&6) and should not affect them as your casings. Mouldings and siding will hide them. Chimney 100 ft. antique vintage red brick architectural salvage 1 million bricks
Want to own a 100 foot tall red brick chimney from the 1860's? Built during the civil war for the increased production at this New England Thread Mill. The Gardiner Hall Jr. Company Thread Manufacturing Co. Was built so high because the entire mill was originally wood fired for the steam processing and they needed good draft to keep the wood burning. Water power from the lake above provided the mechanical power to turn the looms,etc. I don't really know but guess there are close to 1.000,000 bricks in it. It is about 14' wide at the base where the walls are 2' thick and tapers to 6' at the top where it is about 16" thick. There is also a trash burning area at the bottom that you can somewhat see in the photos which has a steel door access which goes with the chimney. There is a copper cabled lighting rod protection ... moresystem in place that goes with it as well. Take it away and rebuild it at your place or sell the bricks or buy the whole thread mill building from me. You're responsible for all labor. COLUMNS,ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. nice original varnish one column has some little pieces that have broken off but I have the pieces so with just a little carpentry they can be fixed. light scratches but all in all very nice original finish. they stand approximately 8 ft 1 inch tall and the bases are 20 inches deep by 9 1/4 wide at the top the columns are 6 1/2 inches wide at the base but taper as they go up. as always I am not a professional when it comes to carpentry so if you need additional measurements to see if these will work for your project please let me know. thank you.
