It has a mounting bracket which allows it to rotate and the hanging part is 2 piece which allows it to telescope. The total length with the telescoping piece pushed in all the way is about 16" and telescoped it is about 21.5" Great condition. Does have some various clors of paint overspray on one side as shown which give it some character and adds charm, the other side just has the original gilt finish. NEWSIDE, PA. they are marked with a patent of August 12, 1902, marked around the center piercing on the bird. These were used in Northern states to break up heavy snow and ice from the roof. It helped with the weight of the snow on the roof and prevented large sheets of it from crashing down on those below. Growing up in Ohio, I remember seeing these staggered along the roof edge on grand old slate-roofed houses. The eight birds all have some surface rust and roughness from years of service but they are all still perfectly sound and ready for another 100 years of watching over your house. A pair of late Victorian decorative cast iron brackets. 14 3/4" high, 11" length from wall. The decorative element reminds me of the type of"gingerbread" that you see on Aesthetic period bamboo furniture. The iron looks like steam-bent wood or bamboo that has been lashed in place with rattan. The surface is so crusty with old paint coats that I'm sure that more detail and maybe even a foundry name would be revealed when these are stripped. They have single mounting holes at the bottom and double mounting holes at the top. One mounting hole is broken off of one bracket but you are still left with sufficient holes to mount it securely. These feet at least twice as big as the standard tub foot. They are original feet, not reproductions. Solid, heavy iron. Circa 1880s. Condition is excellent. No cracks. No chips to their spectacular plumage. They are perfect. They have distressed white paint which makes them perfect architectural elements or lamp bases. They have a bit of plaster on the backs from their original mount. Sometimes people use plaster to fill in gaps around the top of a foot if they don't want to see gaps. Every flange on reverse is perfect. The feet measure 11" tall from dolphin chin to upper most peak. They are 10" wide at the top. The flange on reverse is 4 1/4" long. ... moreIt is 1 5/8" at the widest and tapers to 1 1/8" wide at the tip. The flange has a vertical thickness of 7/8" tapering to 1/2" at the tip. I had searched for this fence and footage amount for a long time. Finally found it last summer from a 1800's home in Ny-got it home and now hubby says he wants another type of fence. Lordy. The 20 pieces are leaning up against my brick home where you can see all of the ivy by it. Each section measures 8'2-1/2" from side to side height 33-3/4" to the top of the middle of the hoop. Nice hoop and spear style in pretty nice condition for it's age. I used a sewing tape measure going around the tubular area 1-1/2" Heavy. And of course rusty. I have shown one picture with one section painted with a black rust paint. I placed all of the pieces on the sidewalk for pictures. There are 22 line posts with the supports attached and all finials-these go between the fence pieces. Selling an antique round cast iron string holder. The patent date is Nov. 26 1872. This string holder is in excellent condition with a great patina that still exhibits portions of the original golden bronze finish. The holder and the footed base both display beautiful lacework cast iron. Most string holders from this time period have solid bases or no base at all. The top half of the round portion has a push button latch that allows it's removal. This piece is as sturdy as the day it was manufactured. One from 1894 and I have one from before the Cable Building was built- St Thomas Church can just about be made out in the distance- both taken from a block South on Broadway at the Metropolitan Hotel. Thus far I have not found one photo or even one article about the actual construction of the BUILDING and I find that very unusual given it was a McKim. Mead and White design, it was a main power plant for a then very new mode of transportation, and the building itself had to have it's foundations dug to an unusual depth- 40 feet in order to isolate the heavy vibrating machinery from the office building itself. It had(4) 1.000 Horse Power steam engines and 18 boilers in the basement, the engines had a 32 foot diameter driving drum and was the largest steam powered plant of it's kind. Wrought Iron Driveway Gates 11' 5" outside hinge to outside hinge. Beautiful antique wrought iron driveway gates. Both sections are about 4' high at the hinge/post end and 5' 3" at the center end so if you mounted them with 12" ground clearance the center of the gates would be 6' 3" from the ground to the top of the gate where they meet in the center. The right section measures 5' 4" long while the left section measures 5' 5" long end to end not including the hinges which add another 4" each end which gives a clearance of about 11' 4" gate post to gate post. Hinges move easily. These gates are very heavy. you might want to pound the slight bend out of the left section post end 1/2" steel piece. Original Antique Victorian Iron Wall Sconce From Whitechapel. London Taken from a building renovation in the late 1990s and possibly the only one of its kind left from the area Description: Hello. This is an original antique Victorian wall sconce taken from Whitechapel, London, in the late 1990s. The item was on the ground floor of a building on New Road that was undergoing renovation from residential to commercial property(the street although once home to many in Victorian London now has many takeaways. Halal restaurants and cafes) The tenant was having a shop sign fitted to the front and when asked if the sconce could be removed from a covered side courtyard type entrance he happily agreed. The person who removed the sconce was the shop sign fitter. And fully aware of the significance of the item, kept it in his garage where it has remained ... moresince. There are no sconces left on buildings in Whitechapel- most having been damaged or thrown away- and it is very rare to find an original example of one from this area of London. Whitechapel is after all. The most notorious part of London having been the since of the Jack the Ripper murders. Although the sconce was retrieved from Whitechapel, the building's tenant did not know the history of the item such as how long it had been on the building, or when it was put there. In any case. Thankfully the sconce was rescued and persevered. It could now make an excellent collectors piece, or garden decoration for a large candle or hanging basket. Condition: The sconce has been repaired at the base part of the hinge. Look at the pictures and you will see a small patch of light metal that has been welded on to join together the two parts that had suffered a crack. The metal is pretty rusted and the oak wood mount is worn in places. It still functions and moves freely on the hinge. Shipping: All items are dispatched the next working day after payment. This is a fantastic and unusual set of 6 Victorian theater seat legs that would make nice architectural pieces. They are quite ornate with flowing scrolls. Flowers, and hearts. All 6 are solid and sturdy despite the surface rust that covers all of them. One of them is from the end of the row and has more detail and some color. The ones from inside the row are marked B36 and the end piece is marked B36R. Some of them have parts of the seat frame still attached, that might be removable, although I haven't tried. All of them have two small feet at the bottom with a hole through each where they were bolted to the floor, but one has a piece broken from the area where it was bolted. The rest seem undamaged other than the rust. They measure 36" H x 11" W at the bottom, and there is a 5 1/2" flat area on each where an arm rest ... morewas attached. This a huge old steam boiler. I see patent dates of 1888 and 1911 on it. It is really cool looking as a sort of'steampunk artifact' Maybe someone would want to put it in a restaurant or lobby as a retro installation. It is roughly 5'8" tall. 3 feet wide, 4 feet deep. It's located in the basement of an old building in Charleston. SC. It is slated for removal by a demolition crew in the next month or so. They plan to sell it for scrap. I said I would try and find someone who wants to preserve it. It will be very hard to move, so if you want it you'll have to be prepared to remove it yourself and/or compensate the demo company for it's scrap value. To be clear. I do not own this. Here are 2 very ornate identical except for colour floor grates from the late 1800's to 1910's. The gold one is in perfect condition, the silver one had a crack repaired as shown otherwise in very nice condition. They measure 16 9/16' x 13 1/2' outside dimensions by 14 9/16' x 11 9/16' to fit.

Antique Victorian Iron Fence 2 Sections 3 Posts
There are 2 sections of fence that measure 74" x 34" and need repair in spots. see photos) There are 3 posts, 2 of which have cast iron ball caps and the third is missing. They have 27" cast iron spikes with one having 3" broken off of the tip. The posts stand about 40" above the spikes. This fence was standing when I found it and everything available was salvaged. The posts are cracked at ground level at the top of the spikes and will need welded or repaired. All the cast iron mounting hardware appears to be present. The fence sections were wired to the hardware so you will need to buy new bolts. This would look great as a shabby antique look or restore to your own preference. There is no shipping offered, local pickup only, I will assist in loading.
