Up for auction is this beautiful. Very ornate, solid oak cabinet door. It was originally on an oak sideboard/cabinet Circa 1860-1900. The front of the door is a creme color which looks to have been painted years ago. This is a solid door. There are some nicks/wear as to be expected for age/use(doesn't take away from it's beauty) The carving on the front is in great condition. It has one brass hinge and a victorian brass pull on the front. Measures approx 13 1/2" in height, 18" in width, and 1" in depth. This is a Great Architectural piece for displaying on a table/wall! Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from adjoining Pittsburgh Victorian home. It originally was at the top of the doorway between 2 rooms. It is made of oak and is painted. The sides of the corbels are carved. There is a nice finial in the middle. It measures 46 inches tall by 16 tall not including the top board. The body is 3 thick not including the molding. Overall. It is in very decent co ndition. There are misc. light scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. One foot is broken off and has some loss. The frame used for the chalkboard is solid tiger oak with a very nice distinctive grain. Finished in gunstock oak stain. The slate used for this chalkboard came out of a local elementary school which was built in the early 1910's. It's approximately 1/4" thick and is in nice condition. FRENCH ANTIQUE CORNICE- PEDIMENT- DOOR CRESTING. Fabulous door cornice hand carved in oak. Measuring 68cm long x 24cm deep. The cornice features two lions either side of a shield like crest which is topped with an overhanging spray of leaves. This overhang projects by approximately 4cm from the rest of the carving. It is totally complete. With no missing bits. There is evidence that the right hand bottom section has at one time been cracked but this has been very well repaired(see last photograph) In wonderful condition considering it's great age. Antique Victorian Gothic fretwork tracery oak glass light lantern from a church
A beautiful antique Victorian Gothic Revival church lantern made from oak/ oak veneer and graduated frosted glass. The lantern itself is square profile. Measuring 6" x6" across the moulded oak framed top and 5.5" x 5.5" across the similar open base. The wooden structure stands 6.75" high, plus the hanging arrangement which is fitted to the original oak/oak veneer shaped central plate- this sill has its original tiny domed screws. The 4 original panels of frosted/sand-blasted glass are graduated from a speckled terracotta/rust colour at the top to colourless at the bottom, giving a lovely warm, mellow tone to the lighting. The panels are still held in by the tiny, original metal tabs and pins inside the oak frame. The gorgeous Gothic tracery fretwork panels are cut from what looks like an oak veneered board rather ... morethan solid oak(but I could be wrong) All this and the dark oak dyed& waxed finish are completely intact and original. There are a couple of tiny chips/ scuffs to the oak here and there which are inevitable given the age of this piece, but no faults to the fragile tracery and no splits, repairs or other problems. I bought this lantern from a church antiques specialist when I first moved into my Victorian Gothic house around 10 years ago and it has been hanging here and in use ever since. I had a very nice antique copper finish bulb holder with integral hanging hook fitted along with bronze coloured new(safe! flex and a very authentic looking Gothic style bronze finish chain with ceiling rose and internal electrical fittings for direct wiring to the household mains. It is 100% ready to hang elsewhere. Easily postable. I am aiming to keep the bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed lantern parcel to within the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg, medium parcel' rate. Here up for auction is an all original salvaged quarter sawn oak paneled room from an upper East side Apartment in Manhattan- most likely from the turn of the 20th century. The wood is in excellent condition and has beautiful details while it remains simple in design. Chamfored edges with wooden riveted detail mark the details of this exquisite room. The overall dimensions of the room are: 10 ft. H x 17.5 ft. x 23 ft. with surfaces fully paneled with cutouts for a mantel- two doors and three windows and four built in cabinets. Included is a wooden mantel with simple acanthus leaf design below the shelf and bolection surround. Also two single doors with paneling on one side and three molded panels on the other. As well as the four built in cabinets. On the one wall: Mantel measures: 47.5 in. W x 46.75 in. H Shelf ... moremeasures: 60.5 in. Antique Victorian Oak Stair & Hall Railing Spindles Trim Eastlake Style Ornate
LOCAL PICKUP ONLY This stair and rail system is one of the most unique and striking examples of victorian wood working I have ever seen! All original. Taken from a large farm house built in the mid 1800's. Made of Oak, it has an original light coat of varnish remaining. It consists of three sections; The back hall; the side hall; and the stairs. The back hall has a rail that measures 45 1/2 inches long. The spindles measure 28 1/2 inches tall and are attached by means of pins, holes, and grooves, there were almost no nails used. The side hall rail measures 9 ft 5 inches, has 11 spindles spaced apart 10 inches on center. The post that connects the side and back rails measures 39 1/2 inches tall. The stair rail measures 14 ft 6 inches long with 14 spindles measuring 26 inches tall.All the pieces are pegged and slotted to fit perfectly into ... moreeach other. The oak rail measures 3 3/4th inches tall and is 2 1/4th inches wide with a groove at the bottom to accept the spindles. The posts have some damage and need to be worked on. There are a few trim pieces for below the stair treads that could be used as patterns, I have not cleaned or altered this item and am selling in the original as found condition. Antique 40+ ft. Ornated Hand Carved Oak Wood Trim Moulding NICE
here is 40 ft and a few inches of antique oak wood molding. Not sure if it came off a piece of furniture, table or what, just do not know. Embossed detailed with raised carving and very detailed. Measures 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. It is used and has some scratches and scuff marks but nothing serious. Could be used for a variety of uses. This was known as a"baby hatch, and that's what it actually is: the kind of dumbwaiter that was used in cloistered communities to keep the sisters from any direct contact with outsiders, and to facilitate anonymous surrender of foundlings to convents and orphanages.
